100% sherry matured, Speyside whisky form what is still a small distillery, less than £50 per bottle, natural colour, non-chill filtered and most of the sherry is Pedro Ximinez…TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY! Rachel Barrie has hit it out of the park again! Again, she has brought out a release from a well regarded distillery and not let anybody down in anyway at all. Big sweet nose with a lovely, oak driven, spicy finish to it. Stunning and good value! Cheers!
The Good Dram Show – Episode 306 ‘Murray McDavid’ – Welcome to the latest episode of the show. This weeks see’s the return f the ‘Prodigal Doggy’! Yes, it’s an entire episode devoted to Murray McDavid.
What was once fabulous then fell by the way side, but now, it’s back! Back at 46%, peat, bourbon casks, virgin oak and some rum as well! BenRiach are a true star for me, everything is fun, everything is well made, everything is vibrant and punchy – even with the experimental side of things, it retains distillery form and character. Really happy to this back to it’s previous form and still kicking most other competition out of it’s way with ease. Cheers!

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 243: Talisker Select Reserve – Game of Thrones
Mark Dermul, Belgian whiskyblogger, loves Game of Thrones. Ha, who does not like Game of Thrones? When Diageo announced they would release 8 malts to represent the 8 Houses of Westeros (well, 7 Houses and The Night’s Watch), Mark admits he was very much looking forward to trying them, especially the Clynelish, Oban, Lagavulin and this Talisker. Bottled at their classic 45.8%, this Talisker Select Reserve is another nice malt from the Isle of Skye.
