Whisky Wednesday – Game of Thrones Clynelish 51.2% – Scotch Whisky News

PHIL

Clynelish is a is a name that whisky enthusiasts love! It’s prominent waxy and floral features are some of the finest found in Scotch as well as whiskies form around the world.

This expression is part of the GoT Releases, NAS with a rather high ABV of 51.2% – Guessing anywhere from 8/10 years old with those classic Clynelish elements, not my favourite of the range but it’s affordable and a must have for any Clynelish fan! Cheers.

Whisky Wednesday Reviews Game of Thrones Lagavulin………. – Whisky News

PHIL

I’M BAAAAAAACK! Six weeks away but now let’s get on with the whisky! Game of Thrones, the most expensive TV show ever made and now has it’s own range of whiskies. Lagavulin, a favourite of the channel and this version is my favourite release of the entire series that it’s part of. Loaded with tropical fruity flavours all backed up with smoked meats and breezes of campfire smoke and coastal shorelines. A true delight if there ever was one and a limited release for not a lot of money. If you can still get one, would recommend picking it up before the investors take it all!

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 242: Macallan Concept Number 1 – Scotch Whisky News

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 242: Macallan Concept Number 1

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries the latest Macallan. A new series by Macallan? Let the hype begin. Indeed, this Concept Number 1 flew off the shelves and at auctions fetched double the retails price, even in the week of the release. Go figure. The packaging is inspired on the world of surreal art. The whisky first matured in sherry cask and then got to sleep the same amount of time in bourbon casks. How long exactly, we do not know. But is it any good? For this is another NAS at drinking strength. But, hey, somebody has to pay for that new distillery, right?

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 241: Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Port Ellen – Scotch Whisky News

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 241: Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Port Ellen

Mark Dermul, Belgian whiskyblogger, tries another Johnnie Walker. May of 2018 saw the release of the outstanding Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare with Brora. That it would be followed by a Blue Label around that other trophy malt from Diageo – Port Ellen – should surprise no one. While the Brora edition already cost 250 EUR, this one is a little more expense. It was bottled at the unconventional 43.8% ABV. This time around the Ghost refers to Caledonian and Carsebridge (and Port Ellen, of course), while the Rare is represented by Mortlach, Dailuaine, Cragganmore, Blair Athol and Oban.
