Harrison Ford entertainingly reveals Glenmorangie as Official Whisky of Formula 1®

“Nice”, says actor in witty verdict on whisky’s pioneering partnership

Glenmorangie Highland single malt Scotch whisky today becomes the Official Whisky of Formula 1® – the world’s most prestigious motor-racing competition. Marking the union of two icons dedicated to taking their crafts to new heights and steeped in heritage, this landmark alliance is part of a decade-long collaboration forged by Glenmorangie’s parent company LVMH and Formula 1®. Glenmorangie’s partnership is revealed by another icon – Harrison Ford – star of the whisky’s brand campaign, in an entertaining short film infused with his trademark wit. Meanwhile, Glenmorangie will celebrate the collaboration trackside this weekend, at the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2025, by sharing a Harrison Ford-inspired photo-moment with racegoers.

For more than 180 years, Glenmorangie’s whisky creators have been relentlessly imaginative in their pursuit of excellence. They distil their more elegant spirit in Scotland’s tallest stills on their mission to continually bring new flavours and possibilities to whisky, making Glenmorangie the world’s most highly awarded Highland single malt. Formula 1®, which this year celebrates 75 years as the pinnacle of motor racing, is Glenmorangie’s kindred spirit. Devoted to setting new standards in performance, and with an equally proud heritage, Formula 1® is a sport based in innovation and relentless progress.

Ford, who plays himself in Glenmorangie’s humorous brand campaign Once Upon a Time in Scotland, marks the partnership in a new short film. And, with the same amusing understatement he uses for Glenmorangie’s whisky, Ford blesses the collaboration in a word: “Nice”.

Glenmorangie, which strongly advocates only alcohol-free driving, will captivate racegoers with experiences and serves celebrating the partners’ shared commitment to excellence, throughout the 2025 Formula 1® season. Fittingly, the partnership will be marked with a special activation at the Formula 1® FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2025 at Silverstone, from July 4, 2025. As the site of the first official Formula 1 World Championship in 1950, Silverstone holds a special place in F1 heritage. There, fans will be invited to enjoy an exclusive Glenmorangie experience showcasing Glenmorangie cocktails and the exclusive Eagle Speedster Jaguar E-Type used by Harrison Ford in the whisky’s brand film. Racegoers will be invited to recreate a moment from the film by taking a seat in this classic car, revered for its craftsmanship.

Caspar MacRae, President and CEO of Glenmorangie, said: “I am thrilled to set in motion Glenmorangie’s landmark partnership with Formula 1 – the pinnacle of motor racing. We share with F1 a great pride in our heritage and an unstoppable desire to reach new heights of excellence. We look forward to spectacular performances and imaginative serves and hope our collaboration will inspire and excite racegoers throughout Formula 1’s 75th anniversary year – and beyond.”

Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer at Formula 1, said: “As part of our 10-year deal with LVMH, we are delighted to welcome Glenmorangie from the Moët Hennessy Maisons collection as the Official Whisky of Formula 1. We have both been mastering our craft for many years, and we share a commitment to refinement and perfection delivered over time. With our mutual respect for tradition, it is absolutely fitting that we are launching our collaboration at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone – the circuit that hosted our first race 75 years ago – and from there around the world for many years to come.”

THE ORIGINAL

Creamy with vanilla and a rush of citrus, The Original is Glenmorangie’s source code – the single malt where all its whisky-making adventures begin. First released by Glenmorangie’s founders more than 180 years ago, the original Glenmorangie was known for its mellow tones and delicacy of flavour. All these years later, The Original remains at the heart of everything Glenmorangie does.

To give The Original its go-anywhere finesse, Glenmorangie’s whisky creators craft its spirit in Scotland’s tallest stills. Then they age it 12 years in bourbon casks where it absorbs all manner of delectable flavours. The result is a whisky which welcomes you with luscious layers of orange and honey, vanilla and bursts of peach. A smooth single malt, swirling with a kaleidoscope of taste.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Bright gold

International Beverage unveils Old Pulteney Polaris for 2025 Distillers One of One auction – Scotch Whisky News

International Beverage unveils Old Pulteney Polaris for 2025 Distillers One of One auction

Masterpiece of Caithness craftsmanship features 47-year-old whisky, Old Pulteney’s oldest ever release

International Beverage has today (Thursday 17th July) unveiled Old Pulteney Polaris, its most extraordinary bottling of Old Pulteney single malt Scotch whisky to date, created exclusively for the 2025 Distillers One of One charity auction.

This one-of-a-kind masterpiece of artisanal skill and artistry features a rare 47-year-old expression of the Maritime Malt, which is the Wick distillery’s oldest ever release.

Valued between £26,000 and £40,000, it is encased in a stunning sculpture of Caithness slate and silver, which are both naturally found in the Distillery’s windswept coastal home in the far north of Scotland, with an additional enhancement of a secret copper disc at the base of the structure which has been carefully reclaimed from Pulteney Distillery’s stills.

Polaris takes its name from the North Star, symbolising a bold, bright future for Old Pulteney as International Beverage plans a global celebration of the Distillery’s milestone 200th anniversary in 2026 – and the beginning of an exciting programme of new releases.

For guests at this year’s Distillers One of One charity auction, Polaris offers the chance to own a unique and never-to-be-repeated piece of Old Pulteney’s history when they gather for the prestigious biennial auction, which takes place at Hopetoun House in Edinburgh on 10th October.

Polaris follows on from Old Pulteney’s previous contribution to the 2023 auction – Bow Wave – which raised nearly £70,000 for the event’s main beneficiary: the Youth Action Fund, a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of young people in Scotland.

The whisky

Distilled and aged at Old Pulteney’s windswept home in Wick on the far north Scottish coast, this whisky captures an authentic maritime character that is unparalleled. Old Pulteney Polaris has been carefully matured for four decades in American oak casks with a final seven years spent resting in a single first-fill Spanish oak butt.

Selected for its elegantly complex and perfectly balanced character, this exceptional whisky boasts complex aromas of sea spray that the Maritime Malt is renowned for. On the palate, delicate vanilla and sweet cinnamon pastry come to the fore with a smooth, fine-textured taste featuring Scottish tablet and dark chocolate, ending with a finish of clotted cream. A 1.5 litre bottle with an ABV of 43.6%, the Lot will include a 100ml tasting sample.

The bottle

Honouring the industrial craftsmanship behind each drop of Old Pulteney, the Polaris bottle has been expertly designed and crafted in partnership with local artisans including Tain-based glass merchant Glasstorm to symbolize and celebrate the whisky’s coastal Scottish home. A deep blue glass bottle, represents the crashing waves of the Caithness coast, with intricate inciso cuts creating a rippled effect around the glassware. Caithness slate encases the bottle, symbolising the enduring cliffs found on this part of Scotland’s northerly coastline, and the bottle’s smooth front allows the luxurious mahogany hues of the whisky to shine through. Threads of Caithness silver run along the bottom of the dramatic slate structure to mimic the motion of waves and are beautifully intertwined with cords of copper.

Renowned whisky expert, Dave Broom, praises its remarkable taste: This deep amber whisky opens with a captivating nose of luxurious stone fruits, citrus zest, and a complex evolution toward oxidative notes like medlar and cob nut, lifted by the sensation of a cool seashore breeze. The palate is thick and waxy, mingling soft, late-harvest fruit with cedar-spiced tannins and a hint of salinity, evoking a windswept clifftop. A splash of water reveals greater mineral depth and incense-like spice, while the finish sees the return of fruit after the saltiness fades – mature and balanced.

Award-winning whisky writer, Jonny McCormick, further compliments the whisky’s incredible flavour profile: ‘Old Pulteney Polaris glows rich amber with burnished gold highlights. The first wave of aromas opens with a bold coastal nose of sea spray, molasses cake, nutmeg, and deep oak, before revealing layers of vanilla, espresso foam, and hints of baked apple and peppermint. On the palate, it’s silky and vibrant, with Scottish tablet, citrus peel, and a rolling wave of grilled pineapple, cherry cake, and toasted spice, all carried by a mineral backbone. The finish is indulgent and lingering, merging dark chocolate and coffee with soft oak, clotted cream, and a final lift of white chocolate and nutmeg.

Fiona Kennie, Marketing Director at International Beverage, said:We are exceptionally proud to be sharing Old Pulteney Polaris with the word today, a project that has been a real labour of love for our team and the skilled designers and local makers in Caithness who have turned our vision into such a magnificent reality. Charity and making a difference in our community is at the heart of our business, so we are very excited to follow the progress of Polaris at this year’s Distillers One of One auction, where we hope our contribution will raise as much money as possible for such an important cause. And for whisky lovers, this is an absolute treasure and a fitting release to mark the countdown to Pulteney Distillery’s 200th milestone next year, when we will have more exciting new releases with rarity, craftsmanship and Old Pulteney’s authentic maritime character to share.’

Colour: Deep amber.

Nose: Deep, oily/waxy and even slightly resinous. Immediately, there’s great concentration of luscious fruits: baked peach, apricot, red apple cut with a zesty mix of orange oil and fresh ginger. Layered and chewy (some toffee). The aromas continue to deepen and become more strange and oxidative: bletted medlar, cob nut, old-style cobbler’s workshop, but then given lift by a gorse/whin freshness and the sensation of a cool seashore breeze. Driven by distillate and time, not wood. A gorgeous, old style.

Palate: Thick, waxy texture. Palate-clinging, all fats, sealing wax, late harvest soft fruits with that touch of decay to them. This is immediately contrasted with a jag of the citrus seen on the nose. The fruits become compressed as the oils build, there’s a touch of rabbit glue, while the wood adds silky tannins and its own aromatic, cedary qualities. Things remain soft and flowing before some light salinity tingles on the sides of the tongue. A clifftop walk in a stiff breeze. Lovely balance.

While water is probably best kept on the side to refresh the palate, a drop or two increases the oxidised elements, adding in light sandalwood incense. Now it is more open, more mineralic, a thrilling mix of acidity, toasted wood and savouriness. Mature, wise with a wildness to it.

Finish: The saltiness fades and the fruits return.

‘Rich amber with burnished gold highlights. The first wave of aromas breaks from the glass to invigorate the senses with sea spray, molasses cake, nutmeg, leather, oak char, and cacao. Like plunging your nose deep inside the cask, notes of ozone, vanilla pod, resinous oak, Brazil nut, and espresso foam emerge, backed with hints of baked apple, barmbrack, and peppermint. It’s a perfect fusion of the elements, bringing together the heart of the ocean with a heart of oak. With hallmarks of great maturity, such surefooted and memorable olfactory pleasures cannot be rushed.

‘This dram dances on the tongue, silky smooth and fine-textured, a melange of Scottish tablet, soft oak, and vibrant, tangy citrus peel, teasing the taste buds with little bursts of fruit that ebb and flow amid a rolling tide of ocean-lashed oak. Roasted citrus notes evolve, anchored by a firm minerality that enriches the flavour, plotting a course between grilled pineapple, cherry and almond cake, and a hint of gingersnap, before gliding into a deep pool of dark chocolate, coffee, supple oak, and chopped nuts, and sinking into a satisfying finish of clotted cream, white chocolate, and nutmeg.’

This past weekend, ANGEL’S ENVY introduced its new summer campaign with a pickleball street festival, exclusive merch collab, and a celebrity exhibition match featuring model and brand partner Venita Aspen

HAMILTON, Bermuda, July 14th, 2025/PRNewswire/– ANGEL’S ENVY® officially launched its summer-long Daycap campaign with a vibrant celebration in downtown Louisville. The Louisville Downtown Pickleball Street Festival, sponsored by ANGEL’S ENVY, invited fans to unwind with Peach Smash cocktails, community play, live music, and food.

The event marked the debut of ANGEL’S ENVY’s latest campaign, centered around the Daycap – a moment to pause, connect and toast an achievement. The brand recently released a new ad series featuring three narrative videos, each showcasing a different take on the Daycap occasion. Whether after a match or a meeting, the Daycap is that earned moment to gather with friends and raise a glass.

The festival, hosted by Louisville Downtown Partnership in collaboration with Goodbounce Pickleball Yard, transformed Main Street in front of the ANGEL’S ENVY Distillery into an outdoor pickleball venue in the heart of downtown Louisville. Highlights included a celebrity exhibition match between ANGEL’S ENVY brand partner Venita Aspen (Bravo’s Southern Charm) and WAVE Listens Live host Sean Baute, plus competitive tournaments, open play, and a Peach Smash bar serving the brand’s signature summer cocktail. Guests also enjoyed exclusive merch, giveaways, photo opportunities, and a Daycap experience inside the ANGEL’S ENVY Distillery, complete with games, cocktails, and more.

“I was so excited to team up with ANGEL’S ENVY,” said Venita Aspen. “I’ve recently been exploring the world of bourbon, and style is at the heart of everything I do – so when I was approached for this project, it was an immediate yes! As a Charleston native who’s worked with Short Court, a hometown favorite, this partnership alongside ANGEL’S ENVY felt like a natural fit. Seeing the community come together around pickleball, embrace the Daycap, and celebrate with friends in style — all while enjoying thoughtfully crafted bourbon cocktails like the Peach Smash— was the perfect way to kick off the summer.

As part of the launch, ANGEL’S ENVY introduced a limited-edition pickleball capsule collection in partnership with Short Court, the Charleston-based pickleball apparel and equipment brand known for blending classic tennis aesthetics with a modern twist. The co-branded paddles and hats were designed for both on and off the court and are now available at ANGEL’S ENVY Distillery and online via shortcourtsports.com.

“At Short Court, we’ve always embraced a ‘play, then après’ attitude, and we love Angel’s Envy for their spirited take on our new favorite summer ritual: the Daycap, best enjoyed with a courtside Peach Smash cocktail.” says Short Court co-founder Neil Thomson.

“We’re excited to partner with Short Court and our brand partner Venita Aspen to bring the Daycap occasion to life,” said Gigi DaDan, General Manager of ANGEL’S ENVY. “Introducing the Daycap to consumers across the country allows us to celebrate that earned moment to relax and enjoy a well-crafted drink – an invitation to cap off the day and kick off the night. Through this partnership, we’re celebrating the joy of unwinding with a premium experience that feels well deserved.”

Lancaster Spirits Company announces partnership with leading whisky maker – English Whisky News

Lancaster Spirits Company announces partnership with leading whisky maker

Lancaster Spirits Co., an independent craft distillery located on the edge of the ancient Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only a stone’s throw from the 2,000-year-old port city of Lancaster, has embarked on a defining partnership with one of the world’s leading single malt whisky experts.

Max McFarlane is one of Scotland’s most respected whisky makers, with a career spanning over 45 years in the Scotch whisky industry, much of it with the Edrington Group, where he became lead whisky maker for iconic brands including Glengoyne, Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark, Bunnahabhain and Tamdhu.

Throughout his career, Max has earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious Icons of Whisky Scotland Master Blender of the Year award. His whiskies have consistently won top honours at the World Whiskies Awards and the International Spirits Challenge, where his expertise in wood selection, maturation and flavour profiling has set a benchmark for excellence. In 2017, he was honoured as a Keeper of the Quaich, a mark of exceptional status among whisky peers.

Following his retirement from Edrington in 2018, Max returned home to Inverkip on the River Clyde and joined the founding team at Ardgowan Distillery, bringing his expertise to their Lowland coastal project. He was tasked with shaping the distillery’s wood policy, production schedule and early blending initiatives, including the acclaimed limited edition Clydebuilt and Inverdarach whiskies.

In his new position at Lancaster Spirits Co., Max will play a central role in shaping the flavour, character, and identity of the distillery’s future whiskies. He will lead the development and execution of the distillery’s short and long-term lay-down strategy, assess and monitor the quality of maturing stocks, and craft new whisky expressions that reflect the ambitions of the brand.

Max will oversee the implementation of a detailed cask management policy, ensuring that the company’s range of existing casks are utilised to their full potential and that future acquisitions meet the highest standards.

His appointment is especially fitting given Lancaster Spirits’ commitment to traditional whisky-making practices and processes. Utilising the infrastructure, expertise and traditional brewing equipment of its sister brewery, the distillery produces a complex, flavoursome wash that results in a spirit with its own unique tasting profile.

There is no automation in either the brewery or the stillroom. Barley is freshly milled each day, the mash is turned by hand, water is drawn from the company’s own well, and the brewery’s own live brewer’s yeast is used, giving a distinctive character to the spirit. These time-honoured practices are increasingly rare in modern commercial whisky production and are central to the character and quality of Lancaster’s output.

Max McFarlane said: “The moment I met the team at Lancaster Spirits Company and tried their new-make spirit, I knew I wanted to be involved in this exciting new distillery. A distillery built upon refined brewing and distilling principles, all underpinned by flavour enhancement. Focusing on creating an exceptional spirit built upon these principles is the priority; my job is to find casks that can harness this unique distillery character. Lancaster Spirits Co. will one day be renowned for its ester-rich, complex, and fruity spirit, matured in hand-selected first-fill bourbon, sherry, and wine casks. Look out for our first Founders Reserve release in the coming months.”

Phil Simpson, MD of Lancaster Spirits Co., said: “Lancaster Spirits Co. is built on a deep sense of provenance. Every step we take is guided by a genuine determination to craft the finest spirits possible. From the water we draw to the carefully selected English-grown barley, every ingredient is chosen with precision. Our mashing and fermentation processes, using Lancaster Brewery’s 200-year-old live yeast, allow us to extract rich, complex ester profiles unique to our spirits.

The arrival of Max McFarlane marks a pivotal moment in our journey. His unparalleled experience and deep understanding of wood maturation and flavour development bring a new dimension to our work. With Max’s input, we are confident that our single malt will not only reflect the unique character of Lancaster but also stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s best.

As we look ahead to the release of our inaugural English single malt whisky in 2027, we are proud to say that every element – from grain to glass – has been shaped by passion, expertise, and a relentless pursuit of quality.”

Christopher Pateman, Commercial Manager at Lancaster Spirits Co., said: “Our Distillery Manager, Joan Casals, has taken exceptional care in shaping the flavour profile of our distilled spirit, laying the foundations for a single malt that promises both complexity and character as it matures. Max has been tasked with analysing and evaluating all of the casks we’ve filled to date and helping us to make informed decisions about each cask’s destiny, as well as ensuring we consistently fill high-quality casks that meet our long-term objectives.

Max’s experience is unquestionable. His deep knowledge of wood management and flavour development will be invaluable in refining our maturation strategy and ensuring our future whiskies achieve the highest possible standard of quality and distinction. As we approach the launch of our inaugural single malt whisky in 2027, we are assembling a team with the vision and skill to produce outstanding whisky. Every part of the process has been engineered with care and attention to detail. We have stayed true to traditional production methods that are increasingly rare in the industry. We are not cutting any corners. We are building something with real integrity.

The appointment of Max McFarlane rounds off a remarkable twelve months for Lancaster Spirits Company. In that time, as a team, we have laid down over 200 casks and secured additional warehousing for future stock. Full details of this development will be announced later in the year, underscoring the company’s long-term ambitions.”

In celebration of King Charles’ III visit to Campbeltown today (3 July 2025), multi award-winning distillery Glen Scotia presented The King with a bespoke bottling of its prized 25 Year Old single malt whisky.

Featuring a unique engraving which reads ‘To celebrate the royal visit of King Charles to Campbeltown 3rd July 2025’, the coveted expression, has received Platinum recognition six times in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition since 2018 and was specially created by Glen Scotia to mark the occasion of the royal visit to Scotland’s smallest whisky-producing region.

Once known as the whisky capital of the world, Campbeltown has seen a resurgence in recent years, with Glen Scotia at the heart of its whisky revival.

Iain McAlister, Glen Scotia distillery manager, said: “It’s a tremendous honour to welcome His Majesty to Campbeltown. His visit not only recognises the town’s historical significance, but also its vibrant whisky-making community.

“We are proud to gift The King a bespoke bottling of our 25 Year Old to celebrate this special moment, a whisky that reflects the depth of character and craftsmanship which define Glen Scotia and Campbeltown.”

The 25-year-old whisky presented to The King showcases Glen Scotia’s distinct coastal flavours. Gently matured in the finest American oak casks and finished in first-fill bourbon barrels, the exceptional single malt is a true reflection of the distillery’s traditional character and signature Campbeltown style.

About Glen Scotia

KAZE Founder’s Reserve LEGACY – Official Launch Announcement – Japanese Whisky News

KAZE Founder’s Reserve LEGACY – Official Launch Announcement

Tenkyo Distillery honours the legacy of late founder Shunsuke Koike with the launch of KAZE Founder’s Reserve LEGACY – a unique blend matured and bottled in Aizu, uniting Scottish spirit with Japanese craftsmanship.

A wind that never fades — a memory that lives on in every drop.

Tenkyo Co., Ltd. (Tenkyo Distillery), located in Bandai Town, Aizu, Japan, is delighted to announce the release of KAZE Founder’s Reserve LEGACY, available from 6th July 2025.

This product originates from maturation trials undertaken by the late founder, Shunsuke Koike, in Aizu prior to the construction of the distillery. By bringing new make spirit from Scotland together with the natural environment of Aizu, and after repeated experimentation with 189 carefully selected casks, this unique blended whisky was born.

The result is a whisky born from the meeting of “winds” – the wind of Scotland, the wind of Aizu, and the spirit of Shunsuke Koike – united to create a profile unlike anything imagined. This character is carried forward through a unique solera system, allowing the whisky to continue evolving, much like an ever-blowing wind.

Thank you very much for your kind attention and support.

Notes

  • “KAZE” (風), pronounced kah-zeh [ˈka̠.ze̞], means “wind” in Japanese.
  • KAZE Founder’s Reserve LEGACY is currently available exclusively in Japan at this time.
  • Additional photography will be available soon.

KAZE Founder’s Reserve LEGACY 700ml

KAZE Founder’s Reserve LEGACY is a blended whisky matured, blended, and bottled at the foot of Mt. Bandai in Aizu, Japan. Born in Scotland, raised in Aizu, Japan. A fusion of culture and terroir, connected by EN (縁).

The 189 casks were laid down as part of a bold maturation project while Tenkyo Distillery was still under construction. With 58 different cask types, it was a visionary exploration of oak, spirit, and future possibility.

THE FALKLAND COLLECTION LAUNCHES FIRST-EVER WHISKY

A bold new chapter in Scotch whisky begins where the story first started; today Falkland Whisky proudly announces their inaugural release from Speyside – honouring the historic roots of Scotch whisky and offering a fresh perspective for modern whisky drinkers.

The Falkland Collection has launched their first-ever bottling The Falkland Collection Speyside Single Malt* – a bright and expressive Speyside single malt, aged in re-fill Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. The first in a brand-new collection aims to bring approachable, quality whisky to enthusiasts around the world.

Carefully curated through long-standing relationships with distilleries, The Falkland Whisky Collection brings together single malts that offer both complexity and accessibility. Available to trade & stockists now, the whisky can be enjoyed neat, with water, or in a carefully crafted cocktail – Falkland Whisky is aimed to suit any occasion.

A RENOWNED REGION

The first-ever Falkland Whisky is a Speyside single malt carefully selected for its rich and full-bodied character. Known for its well-rounded profile and elegant malts, Speyside whisky offers both structure and complexity. The region’s relatively mild climate and soft water sources contribute to the smooth and refined character of this dram.

Only the finest sherry casks were meticulously sourced from bodegas in Jerez, a region known for its wine making heritage, and chosen to enhance this Speyside expression’s depth. The interaction between the liquid and the seasoned wood elevates the drinking experience, bringing a balance of richness and vibrancy.

A CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC FROM HISTORIC SOIL

Steeped in legend and craftsmanship, The Falkland Whisky Collection draws inspiration from the very place where Scotch whisky’s earliest records begin – the royal burgh of Falkland, beneath the Lomond Hills in the Kingdom of Fife.

Just 200 yards from Falkland Palace, where King James IV in 1494 famously commissioned Friar Jon Cor for the first recorded distillation of “aqua vitae,” the Falkland Whisky collection brings Scotland’s proud distilling legacy into the present day.

The Falkland Whisky team offered their thoughts on the launch: “Our mission is to honour the roots of Scotch whisky by making it more accessible and engaging for a new generation. Falkland has always been a place of significance in Scotland’s whisky story and we’re very honoured to be bottling whisky here.”

“Our first release from Speyside really can be enjoyed neat, with water or in a delicious cocktail – the goal is to make The Falkland Collection attractive to whisky lovers all over the world. Those who are looking to broaden their horizons and enjoy a collection of the best approachable and affordable Single Malts, however they like to drink it.”

As the first-in-series, The Falkland Collection Speyside Single Malt marks the beginning of a journey that will take whisky lovers across Scotland’s regions and flavours. Each bottle carries the soul of its origin, curated with care and bottled in the birthplace of Scotch whisky.

The Perfect Fifth Releases Two Whiskies for the Summer, Including Rare 50-Year-Old Scotch and 15-Year-Old American Whiskey

The Perfect Fifth Releases Two Whiskies for the Summer, Including Rare 50-Year-Old Scotch and 15-Year-Old American Whiskey

North of Scotland Release Destined to be a Collector’s Item Due to Provenance

NEW YORK (July 9, 2025) – The Perfect Fifth, an American independent Scotch Whisky bottler known for its rare, ultra-premium single cask Scotch Whiskies, is adding two more gems to its collection with the release of a 50-Year-Old Scotch called North of Scotland and a 15 Year-Old Single Barrel American Whiskey under its Cannongate line.

North of Scotland
Scotch connoisseurs will be excited about these two releases, given the provenance of each.  The North of Scotland 50 Year-Old Scotch comes from its eponymous distillery, which was shuttered in 1980.  The North of Scotland Distillery was known for its innovation and produced what is widely considered one of the most flavorsome grain whiskies, due to its higher number of congeners in the spirit cut, as directed by its then-owners to retain its character with age.

North of Scotland is a single-grain Scotch Whisky from the lowland region, distilled in 1973.  The Perfect Fifth purchased a barrel from the original owner some years ago and bottled it in 2025.  The whisky is light, floral, and sweet, like tropical fruits. Today, any whiskies produced at North of Scotland are considered collector’s items, and The Perfect Fifth’s release is sure to be added to that list.

“The North of Scotland Distillery has a special place in Scotland’s whisky history. Even though it was only in place for 20 years, their whiskies were known to be flavorful and innovative for their time,” said Karl Schoen, founder and chief executive officer, The Perfect Fifth.  “When we ran across the opportunity to purchase a barrel from North of Scotland, we were eager to do so, due to its lineage and its elegant and refreshing palate.  It truly is a testament to the distillation craftsmanship that has allowed this barrel to stand the test of time after more than half a century of aging.”

With only 90 bottles available, The Perfect Fifth’s North of Scotland 50-Year-Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky will be highly sought after.  Like all whiskies produced under The Perfect Fifth’s premium line, this bottle comes in a custom, hand-made miniature barrel inscribed with The Perfect Fifth logo, which makes a show-stopping display piece on any bar. The suggested retail price of North of Scotland is $915, and ABV is 45.6%.

Canongate 15-Year-Old Single Barrel American Whiskey
The second release, Canongate 15-Year-Old Single Barrel American Whiskey, is part of the brand’s “Born and Bottled” series, which pays tribute to the spirited relationship between Kentucky and Scotland. This whiskey was distilled in Bardstown, Kentucky, in 2009, spent three years aging in Kentucky, and was then sent to Scotland to age another 12 years before being bottled. The unique blend of Kentucky’s tempestuous weather, combined with Scotland’s more temperate climate, has resulted in a whiskey with multiple layers of vanilla and hints of cocoa and light spice.

The Canongate 15-Year-Old Single Barrel American Whiskey is a limited edition with only 236  bottles available in the United States.  The alcohol by volume (ABV) is 63.53. Suggested retail pricing is $185 per 750 mL.

“We’re excited to bring these two expressions out for the summer,” said Schoen, “The Canongate 15-Year-Old is a unique bottling due to the transatlantic journey the barrel took by first spending time in Kentucky, then in Scotland, and now back in the United States.  This bottling celebrates the symbiotic relationship between our two countries in regards to cask sharing.”

Both the North of Scotland and Canongate 15-Year-Old Whiskies are available at retail in New York, New Jersey, California, and online at www.theperfectfifth.com.

About The Perfect Fifth

The Perfect Fifth was created in 2019 by Karl Schoen, who was inspired by watching his family members toast milestones with Scotch Whisky as he grew up. As Karl began his own exploration into the world of Scotch Whisky, he enjoyed finding stellar single cask bottlings and sharing them with others.  This led to the formation of The Perfect Fifth, where Karl and his brother Ben source the best quality whisky from all over Scotland.  Together they travel throughout Scotland, sampling cask after cask until they find those worthy to be selected for The Perfect Fifth. Few casks make the cut, which is why The Perfect Fifth releases are limited editions.  Like the musical interval, The Perfect Fifth releases consist of multiple layers, each one broad and deep, which when combined, make a beautiful assembly meant to be shared with family and friends.
