The nose on this intoxicating and takes me back to my first ever experience of Macallan 18 Year Old. It’s drenched in chocolate orange, raisins, toffee, dark honey, and a whole host of sticky sweet things that we all started to love Macallan for.
Signatory need no additional praise from me, the love is there and it is strong across nearly all of their releases. This is a incredible point to access what is a great whisky without having to pay a premium for no particular reason.

Baker Beam turned 90 this year and Baker’s Bourbon is celebrating with the return of one of its most sought-after expressions – Baker’s 13, a limited-edition 13-year single barrel bourbon bottled at 107 proof.
The special release arrives during a milestone year for the brand’s namesake, Baker Beam, the grandnephew of legendary distiller Jim Beam and the man whose unapologetically individual spirit continues to define Baker’s Bourbon in so many ways.
The re-release offers bourbon drinkers the opportunity to experience a particularly special expression of Baker’s signature approach to aging. At 13 years, the bourbon showcases how time and warehouse location can create distinction from barrel to barrel, with notes of fruit, vanilla and caramel on the nose; oak, toasted nuts, vanilla and fruit on the palate; and a robust, warmly rounded finish.
With Baker Beam reaching his 90th birthday this year, the timing feels especially fitting: 13 years in the barrel, 90 years of Baker Beam, and a bourbon built around the idea that individuality is worth celebrating.
Baker’s 13 is currently available for a suggested retail price of $149.99.
A new limited release from Loch Lomond’s Waypoint Series, inspired by their spectacular surroundings in the Trossachs National Park. The 31 Year Old celebrates the Inverarnan to Inversnaid trail, a wild and soaring route running along the north-east banks of the loch. The route is challenging, yet exceptionally diverse and beautiful, and Master Distiller Michael Henry honours it with a whisky equally worthy of exploration.
The release brings together 31-year-old peated whiskies – the oldest ever peated liquid released by the distillery – distilled exclusively in Loch Lomond’s unique straight-neck stills and matured in three types of ex-bourbon American oak casks. The whisky was then finished for 12 months in tawny port pipes, lacing the distillery’s signature honeyed, softly smoky character with ripe berries and bittersweet chocolate.
One of under 2600 bottles released, it’s the first in a new series of old and rare whiskies from the distillery and is bottled at 44.1% abv, free from artificial colour or chill filtration. The whisky is presented in a handmade wooden case shaped like the straight neck stills that made it; an internal copper tube beautifully illustrated by artist Brett Beacon depicts the Inverarnan to Inversnaid trail that was its inspiration.
Ripe, dark forest fruits glazed with honey on the nose, with dark chocolate, red summer berries and cedarwood on the palate. Soft, elegant woodsmoke and black cherries on the finish.

“KAZE 921 FIRST EDITION 2026”
on the Founder’s Birthday
BANDAI, JAPAN – Tenkyo Distillery, located in Bandai, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan,is pleased to announce the release of KAZE 921 FIRST EDITION 2026, a limited-edition blended whisky, on Monday, 21 September 2026, a public holiday in Japan.
KAZE 921 will be released each year on 21 September, the birthday of Tenkyo Distillery’s founder, Shunsuke Koike. Even before Tenkyo Distillery was completed, Shunsuke had begun exploring the possibilities of maturation in the Aizu region of Japan.
He sourced new make spirit from three distilleries in Scotland and filled a total of 189 casks, using 58 different cask types. It was an exploration of how spirit, cask, climate and time could shape a whisky unique to this place.
Later, a small quantity was taken from each cask and incorporated into the KAZE Solera System. Among them, several casks that displayed particularly exceptional character were quietly set aside.
This year’s 921 is centred around two richly matured Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, one American oak and one European oak, selected from among these special casks and carefully married with the KAZE Solera System nurtured in Aizu.
Only 921 bottles have been produced. It is a blend that will never be repeated.
This release is also accompanied by the traditional craftsmanship passed down through generations in Aizu.
The label is made using Izugahara washi, a traditional craft of Aizu. Barley straw from Aizu-grown barley is incorporated into the paper, with each label individually finished using traditional letterpress printing. The top of each cork stopper is individually hand finished using an Aizu lacquerware technique known as ishime-nuri. The bottle is presented in a specially made luxury presentation box.
The release is limited to only 921 bottles and will go on sale from 21 September 2026 through the Tenkyo online shop and the Yukkura direct-sales shop at Tenkyo Distillery.

TASTING NOTES
Colour: Amber
Nose: Maple syrup, spiced nuts and dark cherries wrapped in chocolate. Refreshing lemon peel and shiso nuances reminiscent of pepper bring balance.
Palate: Rich and full-bodied yet juicy. Candied dried fruits and maple-coated spiced nuts are followed by warming Sichuan pepper and citrus peel.
Finish: A long, lingering finish. Sweet maple syrup and peppery spice are layered with subtle cooling notes of mint and menthol.
