Whisky Wednesday Reviews Brenne Single Malt – Whisky News
Selling it’s first few bottles in 2012, Brenne has picked up more than it’s fair share of wars and accolades from the domestic and international press. Barley grown in France, a yeast strain sourced from Cognac and maturation taking place in Limousin oak a long with ex-Cognac casks, a match made in heave for this tiny outfit. Tasting like a sweet-shop from all of our pasts, the whisky is gentle, complex and very unique in what I have tried in the modern world of single malt and other pot still distillates. Cheers!

Whisky Wednesday…Reviews Miyagikyo – Japanese Whisky News
Hello all! More Whisky Thursday than Whisky Wednesday but, we carry on! Miyagikyo, a whisky that is meant to follow a similar archetype to that of your Speyside and Highland style. Rich, spicy, slightly savory and a nice earthy finish to it as well. A more intense amount of sherry cask with this one and that really comes through on the nose with cherry, watermelon and honey. A beautiful whisky with a large amount of depth and complexity. If you’re a fan of AnCnoc, Blair Athol and Dalwhinnie but with more boom! Check this out! Cheers!

Whisky Wednesday Visits Yoichi Distillery – Japanese Whisky News
Japanese whisky is still something a medium sized proportion of whisky drinkers are yet to experience, if you are one of those drinkers and you like something that sets itself apart from the ‘typical’ Japanese style, this is the one you should try. Situated on the northern island of, Hokkaido, Yoichi distillery produces a style that is reminiscent of Bruichladdich and Talisker. Oily mouth feel, heavy spirit and a beautiful wisp of coastal smoke and savory spice. This and Hakushu are my personal favorites in the realm of Japanese whisky and Yoichi in particular has a familiar yet exotic taste to it and is without doubt a whisky that all drinkers can thoroughly enjoy. Cheers.
