Welcome to this week’s episode of the show. Finally after 300 odd episodes of the show I have done one on the legendary Islay distillery, Lagavulin.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 267: Kilchoman 7 Year Old 2011 Madeira Finish for Belgium
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries an Kilchoman Twin Cask Release! Prima Vinum – a Belgian whisky shop – was looking for a single cask release of Kilchoman. But the owner was faced with a dilemma, for the two samples he received were both very much to his liking. He could not choose and in a flurry of bewilderment decided to mix both samples. Eureka! The vatting of both casks yielded his favourite expression and the Twin Cask Release was born.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 266: Ardbeg Grooves
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries an Ardbeg! This Grooves was the limited release for Ardbeg Day 2018. Mark admits that he was a bit Ardbeg-tired as he felt the special releases did not live up to the standard range. So his expectations for this Grooves were not that high. By the way: Grooves refers to the… err… grooves that appear when charring the red wine casks that were used for this release. But despite his misgivings, this turned out to be a fun and interesting expression!
The Good Dram Show – Episode 322 ‘Glencadam & Tomintoul’ – Scotch Whisky News
Welcome to another alcohol fueled episode of the show. This week I’ll be looking at seven single cask, cask strength bottlings from theses two iconic distilleries!

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 265: Smoky Scot
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries the Smoky Scot! While there is no mention of the distillery on the label anywhere, it is clear that this is an Islay whisky. In fact, this is a 5 year old Caol Ila that matured on bourbon casks, before being bottled at 46% by Aceo Ltd. And guess what? It’s a stunner and absolute bang for your buck!
Whisky Wednesday Reviews Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, Barrel Proof – 64.1% – American Whiskey News
Jack! A name I love, a name a lot of people seem to ignore…not sure why in all honesty. The importance of this brand is forthright into the development of demand, advertising, celebrity and society based around whisky and how we know it today, not to say that Scottish and Irish distillers aren’t as important, of course. I’ve been waiting to buy this for ages and on a jet-lagged return from Kentucky to Manchester, I saw it for £37 with shipping, which is just insane! Cheers
