Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 355: Talisker 2009 Distillers Edition
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries a special malt from Skye. Barely three months ago Mark had tried the Distillers Edition from 2007, bottled in 2017. But he recently presented this version from 2009, bottled in 2019, during his online tasting WhisQy (Whisky in Quarantine) Edition #5: Talisker Treats. As always, the Talisker Distillers Edition is double matured on Amoroso sherry casks.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 354: Ballechin 10 Year Old 2010 Signatory for McShelfie
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky vlogger, gets a taste of Pitlochry. Belgian Whisky Club of the Year McShelfie selected a single cask of 10 years old Ballechin that matured on a sherry cask. Indeed, it’s another heavily peated malt from the Edradour distillery.

Due to Covid, Whisky Wednesday filming is postponed…

Welcome to the second episode of the show devoted to North Star Spirits. In this episode I’ll be looking at their Series 012 releases.

This weeks episode of the #GoodDramShow https://youtu.be/mFCBE9TJJcU features the Series 011 releases from North Star Whisky

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 353: Caol Ila 13 Year Old 2007 The Octave for Wine4You
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky vlogger, tries another Ileach. An Octave is a smaller type of cask that enables the spirit to have more contact with the wood and hence mature a lot faster. This Caol Ila from 2007 had the pleasure of kissing wood from a sherry octave. It was bottled by Duncan Taylor in their famous The Octave series, exclusively for the Belgian shop Wine4You. And it’s a stunner!

I DON’T HAVE TO GO THROUGH AN AIRPORT TO GET THIS ANYMORE!! THE JOY!
I’ve waited for a solid opportunity to talk about this whisky when it wasn’t disappearing onto planes, literally. Finally avaliable for purchase from all specialist retailers, Makers Mark Cask Strength is an abundance of brown sugar and tobacco. Providing all of the elegant Makers style with some Kentucky power, which is very welcome here in Manchester! Cheers!

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 352: Peat’s Beast 25 Year Old
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky vlogger, tries an undisclosed Ileach. Peat’s Beast is not the most famous whisky around, yet worth seeking out. After all, it is an Islay single malt – albeit undisclosed. The Peat’s Beast 25 years old is a limited edition and if Mark were a betting man… he claims this might be a Bowmore. Don’t take his word for it, though.
