Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 361: Ledaig 11 Year Old 2008 The Whisky Barrel
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries a young and feisty Ledaig. The online retailer The Whisky Barrel has released a series called ‘Originals’ in which they showcase the different styles of malts to their customers. Among those is also this young Ledaig – peaty Tobermory – that was bottled after 11 years of maturation on a first fill oloroso hogshead.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 360: Tobermory 17 Year Old Distillery Exclusive
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries a distillery exclusive from Tobermory. This always captures Mark’s attention. After all, if you can only get it at the distillery, surely it must be special. Only 990 bottles of this Tobermory were released after a maturation of 17 years, the last months spent on a Madeira cask. That’s a fortified wine from the eponymous Portuguese island off the coast of Africa.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 359: Tobermory 1994 – Wilson & Morgan vs The Whisky Mercenary
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, puts two Mull malts head-to-head. The independent bottler Wilson & Morgan bottled this second fill oloroso sherry butt #5043 some 6 years ago. Mark puts it head-to-head with sister cask #5013 that was bottled this year by The Whisky Mercenary. For the latter it is a shared cask with Dutch bottler Kintra. It matured 5 years longer than the former.
