Discover Bradan Orach
Whether you’re well versed in our wonderful range of single malt whiskies or just starting to discover them, we think you’ll agree that Bradan Orach embodies all that’s best about Speyburn.
Gaelic for ‘Golden Salmon’, Bradan Orach draws its name from the famously plentiful fish which in season populate the clear spring waters of the Granty Burn – the water which brings Speyburn to life.
The vitality of these magnificent fish is echoed in the qualities of Bradan Orach – a bright golden, easy-drinking whisky infused with a wonderful vigour and depth thanks to the bourbon casks in which it matures. Yielding green apple freshness, light citrus zest and honey sweetness, its well balanced creamy vanilla and floral flavours give way to a long-lasting spicy finish.

At Speyburn we’ve long appreciated just how special our whisky is, but it’s always an honour to see our their excellence acknowledged by those who know our industry best.
That’s why we’re thrilled by our exceptional performance at the prestigious 2014 IWSC Awards, where Speyburn 10 Years Old was awarded a gold medal, with the judges hailing it as a “lovely whisky. Beautifully balanced and poised with a great range of ripe fruit flavours”.
At what was Speyburn’s finest awards performance this year, the celebrations were heightened by the award of a Silver Outstanding medal to our 25 Years Old, while a bronze medal went to Bradan Orach.
Here is a photograph of a couple of pipers enjoying some Glencadam whisky in our ‘Whiskies of Scotland’ marquee at the Lonach Highland Gathering a couple of weekends ago. Below is another selection of whiskies and other drinks that we have on offer at

The Story of The Cask
When the ex-bourbon casks were taking Scotland by storm, Knockdhu was still a relatively young distillery. And so from the humble but modern beginnings to the age of anCnoc – our international single malt brand of Knockdhu Distillery – the white American oak barrels and hogsheads have been at the heart of our maturation policy. Our full-bodied, fragrant and fruity spirit condensed in traditional worm tubs loves the ex-bourbon cask and vice versa. But there is another type of cask we use. Once the backbone of distilling in our part of the world, it’s now less popular and often misunderstood. The glorious sherry cask.

After enjoying years of the Willett’s bourbon and rye “bottlings” we were excited to receive and taste Rye “distilled” by them. The nose is quite lovely and light, with some clove and buttered pickles. With H2O: floral qualities, cinnamon; Palate has notes of toffee, candied fruits, marmalade.

Released to replace the 1990 Airigh Nam Beist the Corryvrecken had some impressing to do, it did just that! Winning a number of awards and scoring 96.5 points in Jim Murray’s whisky bible. Corryvrecken described as a sexy and elusive, Non-Chill filtered single malt bottled at 57.1% well worth taking a swirl if you’re a Islay fan. An outstanding peated malt.
