Heaven Hill Distillery Celebrates 90 Years of Independent Family Ownership with Limited 9-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Release

Special Anniversary Edition Honors Nine Decades of Family Tradition and American Whiskey Excellence with a 107-Proof  Bourbon Aged in Heavy Char Barrels

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (November 4, 2025) — Heaven Hill Distillery, the largest independent, family-owned and led distilled spirits company of brands in the United States, proudly commemorates its 90th anniversary with a special release, Heaven Hill Distillery’s 90th Anniversary 9-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This exceptional bottling honors nine decades of family craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication to preserving the heritage of America’s Native Spirit.

Crafted from Heaven Hill’s traditional Bourbon mashbill, 78% corn, 12% malted barley, and 10% rye, this 107-proof Bourbon is a thoughtfully constructed blend of 70% Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, and 30% Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey aged in heavy char barrels. Each of the 204 barrels selected for this release was produced on December 13, 2015, marking Heaven Hill’s 80th Anniversary, and matured for nine years and eight months in Rickhouses G and H on the 4th and 6th floors.

The result is a deeply complex Bourbon that showcases the distillery’s mastery of maturation and blending. The use of heavy char barrels, intensely fired to create a deep “alligator” char layer, enhances the whiskey’s smoothness and depth, imparting rich notes of caramel, vanilla, toasted spice, and oak warmth. The whiskey is non-chill filtered to preserve its full character and mouthfeel.

“As we celebrate Heaven Hill’s 90th anniversary, I’m reminded of the vision my father and his brothers had when they founded this company in 1935,” said Max L. Shapira, Heaven Hill Executive Chairman. “Their goal was simple but profound, to build a family business that would craft whiskey with integrity, patience, and pride. Nine decades later, we continue that mission with the same independent spirit, passion for quality, and respect for tradition that has guided us from the start. This 90th Anniversary release is both a reflection of our history and a toast to our future.”

“This release is particularly special because it captures nearly a decade of patient aging and our team’s thoughtful approach to barrel selection,” said Conor O’Driscoll, Master Distiller at Heaven Hill Distillery. “By incorporating Bourbon aged in heavy char barrels, we’ve deepened the flavor profile and created a whiskey with exceptional richness and balance. The result is a spirit that embodies the craftsmanship and character that have defined Heaven Hill for 90 years.”

The Heaven Hill Distillery’s 90th Anniversary 9-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey will be available nationwide in limited quantities beginning in October 2025, with a suggested retail price of $124.99.

THE JAMES B. BEAM DISTILLING CO. INTRODUCES KNOB CREEK® 21 YEAR OLD, THE OLDEST EXPRESSION IN DISTILLERY HISTORY

Knob Creek® proudly announces the newest evolution of its Single Barrel Select Program: Knob Creek® Single Barrel Select Cask Strength.

Each barrel was hand-selected for its distinctive flavor and balance, resulting in a bourbon as rare and bold in character as it is in age

CLERMONT, Ky., – The James B. Beam Distilling Co., home of the The Small Batch Bourbon Collection™, marks a historic moment with the release of Knob Creek® 21 Year Old, the oldest expression to be released from the distillery and the award-winning Knob Creek® portfolio. Discovered at 21 years, this limited-edition bourbon marks a milestone for Knob Creek®—an extra-aged whiskey that embodies Knob Creek® while delivering a distinctive new expression and flavor experience.

Bottled at 100 proof, Knob Creek® 21 Year Old is a full-flavored bourbon that reflects our unwavering commitment to pre-Prohibition style craftsmanship. For more than two decades, these barrels rested patiently in our Kentucky rackhouses, weathering changing temperatures and seasons. During this time, the whiskey didn’t just age; it evolved, gaining extraordinary depth, color, and character that only 21 years in the barrel can bring. Each was then hand-selected by our master distillers for its remarkable balance and complexity – proof that patience, instinct, and respect for the process can create something truly one of a kind.

When we first laid this batch to rest, we weren’t chasing any specific age statement – we were focused on crafting a great bourbon, just like we always do,” said Freddie Noe, eighth generation master distiller. “After I tasted the whiskey, I knew we had something special. After decades in the rackhouse, the liquid developed a richness and balance we knew Knob Creek® fans and whiskey enthusiasts would want to try. That’s what makes this release special: it’s bold, full of character, and embodies what Knob Creek® stands for.”

Bottled at 100 proof, Knob Creek® 21 Year Old is a full-flavored bourbon that reflects our unwavering commitment to pre-Prohibition style craftsmanship. It opens with aromas of seasoned oak, caramelized sugar, and subtle smoke. On the palate, deep caramel and char build alongside hints of fruit and toasted oak, leading to a long, warm finish of toffee and charred wood — a flavor profile shaped by decades of care and expertise.

Arriving just in time for the holiday season, Knob Creek® 21 Year Old invites bourbon lovers to savor and share it neat to experience the liquid in its purest form. This limited time offering is presented in a distinguished keepsake box – a tribute to the craft and care behind this release – and is available nationwide for a limited time at a suggested retail price of $249.99 for a 750mL bottle.

About Knob Creek® Bourbon

Knob Creek® has set the standard for super-premium whiskey for three decades by crafting extraordinary full-flavored bourbon with a rich taste. Knob Creek® bourbons and ryes are patiently aged to perfection in new, maximum charred American Oak barrels to impart the biggest and fullest flavor on their whiskey. No matter the expression, Knob Creek® is crafted without shortcuts and embodies the pre-Prohibition style that founding distiller Booker Noe created in 1992. Since then, Knob Creek® has lived up to such standards with the introduction of Knob Creek® Straight Rye Whiskey in 2012, and later on, Knob Creek® Single Barrel Select Rye Whiskey. In recent years, Knob Creek® announced the permanent addition of Knob Creek® 12 Year Old Bourbon and launched three limited releases, Knob Creek® 15 Year Old Bourbon, Knob Creek® 18 Year Old Bourbon, and Knob Creek® Bourbon x Rye. Knob Creek has continued to build out its rye portfolio; the brand announced the addition of an age statement to its flagship rye whiskey, Knob Creek® 7 Year Old Rye Whiskey, and released Knob Creek® 10 Year Old Rye Whiskey.

Hatozaki Whisky Launches Triple Cask Reserve – Japanese Whisky News

HATOZAKI WHISKY LAUNCHES

TRIPLE CASK RESERVE

The latest expression from Master Distiller & Blender Kimio Yonezawa fuses world whisky tradition with Japanese craftsmanship, joining Hatozaki’s core range blended at the Kaikyō Distillery in southern Japan.

Hatozaki Whisky today announces the launch of its newest expression, Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve, as a permanent addition to the brand’s portfolio. This latest expression showcases a rare finishing technique, Umeshu plum liqueur casks – a method rarely seen in the whisky world and uniquely rooted in Japan.

Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve embodies Master Distiller Kimio Yonezawa’s vision of a delicate yet beautifully crafted “world whisky,” shaped by generations of Japanese craftsmanship.

A blend of hand-selected malt whiskies, Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve is first aged in ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry barrels, then finished for six months in superior Umeshu plum liqueur casks. Known in Japan as ume, Umeshu is a traditional liqueur made by steeping local green plums in alcohol. This additional maturation imparts delicate layers of zesty citrus, tea-like herbal notes, and a subtle plum sweetness, resulting in a complex flavour profile that sets this whisky apart.

Umeshu cask finishing is rarely seen in whisky production, highlighting Hatozaki’s innovative approach to blending whisky whilst rooting the product in Japanese culture and heritage.

“Finishing a whisky in Umeshu casks is rare in the whisky world, and I was eager to see how the Japanese plum liqueur’s flavours would transform the blend,” notes Master Distiller Kimio Yonezawa. “The umeshu influence adds an extra layer of depth and gentle sweetness that truly sets Triple Cask Reserve apart from more traditional whiskies.”

As a true “world whisky” Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve brings together global distilling influences, refined at the Kaikyō Distillery in Japan with techniques honed over generations. Yonezawa — a fourth-generation distiller — has spent decades mastering whisky craftsmanship and is committed to upholding the high standards set by the Japan Spirits & Liqueurs Makers Association (JSLMA). The resulting spirit honours time-honored Japanese blending artistry while embracing a worldwide whisky heritage.

Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve emerges as an elegant yet approachable whisky, best sipped slowly and savored with friends and family. Its thoughtful creation and distinctive finishing technique reflect a commitment to quality and innovation that will appeal to whisky connoisseurs and casual enthusiasts alike.

COLOR: Golden

NOSE: Fragrant oak spice with black tea and oranges, followed by dried apricots and a touch of vanilla harmonizing with the lightly toasted sweet barley aromas.

MOUTH: The palate opens with a gentle oak spiciness, accompanied by hints of dried peel and flavors of Umeshu. The mid-palate maintains a lightness, revealing more pronounced wood tones and a delicate presence of the spirit.

STYLE: Round, subtle, delicately sweet

Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve (£58 / $75, 750ml, 46% ABV) joins the brand’s core range of whiskies including Hatozaki Finest Whisky (£38 / $45, 750ml, 40% ABV), and Small Batch Whisky (£50 / $65, 750ml, 46% ABV). All Hatozaki whiskies contain no colouring or chill filtration.

ABOUT HATOZAKI WHISKY

Hatozaki is produced at the Kaikyō Distillery off the southern coast of Japan, where the maritime climate and seaside terroir are ideal conditions for fine whisky maturing. Fourth-generation Master Distiller & Blender Kimio Yonezawa brings blending heritage, skill and passion to the tradition of whisky-making in Japan. The Hatozaki portfolio includes two permanent expressions, Hatozaki Finest Blended Whisky and Small Batch Whisky, and the Omakase Collection: a line of limited edition expressions exclusive to the US, hand-selected by Yonezawa to create unique cask finishes that have included Mizunara, Sakura and other Japanese oak influence. Hatozaki presents a portfolio of expertly crafted whiskies in the Japanese tradition of craftsmanship that are worthy of sipping, savoring, and enjoying with family and friends.

Hatozaki is part of the Marussia Beverages portfolio that includes Akashi-Tai Sake, 135 East Gin, and Torabhaig single malt whisky.

FIRST-LOOK INSIDE EDEN MILL’S WORLD-CLASS DISTILLERY AND VISITOR CENTRE IN ST ANDREWS – Scotch Whisky News

FIRST-LOOK INSIDE EDEN MILL’S WORLD-CLASS DISTILLERY AND VISITOR CENTRE IN ST ANDREWS

Eden Mill has cut the ribbon on its landmark new distillery and visitor centre on the banks of the Eden Estuary, just outside the historic Home of Golf. The multi-million-pound site combines modern sustainability with Scotland’s rich distilling tradition to create a new, world-class destination for both local and international visitors.

Guests can enjoy immersive whisky tours, shop exclusive bottlings in the retail space, and take in panoramic views from The Lookout – a top floor cocktail bar with views across the water towards the St Andrews skyline. The distillery, powered entirely by renewable energy, even boasts a state-of-the-art golf simulator for guests to use.

Euan Kinninmonth, Brand Home Manager at Eden Mill, said: “The vision was to create a distillery and visitor centre that would celebrate the town’s rich distilling heritage, highlighting St Andrews as a must-visit destination for spirits tourism. I’m delighted to say that this vision is now a reality. It’s a landmark moment – not just for Eden Mill, but for St Andrews as a whole.

On a personal level, I will become the fourth generation of my family to work on the site of the old paper mill which is a real source of pride given I was born and raised in the area.

Creating 18 new jobs in the local area, the striking new venue offers a rich blend of tradition, innovation and hospitality. Immersive whisky experiences will allow visitors to explore the history and taste Eden Mill’s signature range and discover the stories behind their award-winning spirits.

For whisky aficionados, the Cask Mastery Whisky Experience will offer a chauffeur transfer to and from St Andrews, a journey through Eden Mill’s most premium collection of malts, and a behind the scenes visit to the ‘Distiller’s Lab’ and on-site cask warehouse.

The distillery also boasts a bright and contemporary retail space with an expansive offering. Eden Mill’s full range of whiskies are stocked, as well as distillery exclusive bottlings and locally sourced gifts such as prints, chocolates, and reclaimed whisky wood products.

At the top of the distillery, with panoramic views across the Eden Estuary, is ‘The Lookout’ – a 40-seat bar serving an eclectic list of classic and contemporary cocktails. Available for bookings and walk-ins from midday until 10pm all week long, the venue’s extensive drinks list is complemented by cheese and charcuterie boards sourced from a local deli.

As a nod to the brand’s provenance, Eden Mill has honoured the town’s affinity with golf by installing a professional golf simulator. The set up will allow golf fans to play The Old Course, as well as a number of famous Scottish and international courses, with a G&T in hand.

To mark the momentous opening, Eden Mill is releasing a single cask sherry matured whisky exclusively available to purchase from the distillery’s retail space. The Oloroso hogshead, which was originally filled in 2016, contained just 279 bottles, making this a truly rare and memorable release and it follows their other single cask expressions which have each sold out in a matter of hours.

The site combines traditional equipment – including a mash tun, six washbacks, a gin still, and whisky stills – with a warehouse capable of housing 300 casks. With a production capacity of 1 million litres of pure alcohol per year, it is a distillery designed to grow sustainably.

From day one, sustainability has been central to Eden Mill’s vision. Timorous Beastie Highland Malt “Phantom Smoke” Limited Edition – Scotch Whisky News

Timorous Beastie Highland Malt “Phantom Smoke” Limited Edition

Douglas Laing & Co. today proudly introduces a daring new chapter for its award-winning Highland Malt with the launch of Timorous Beastie Phantom Smoke, a Limited-Edition expression that marks the first time peat has been introduced to the beloved “mighty mouse” brand.

This innovative bottling marries a peated Highland Malt with classic Timorous Beastie spirit that has undergone an extended maturation in Crocodile Casks – heavily charred oak barrels that impart intense depth and complexity. Bottled at a formidable 54.2% ABV and offered without colouring or chill-filtration, Phantom Smoke remains true to Douglas Laing’s philosophy of bottling Scotch Whisky “as natural as it gets.”

The result is a hauntingly harmonious dram, described with tasting notes as:

Nose: Crackling with smouldering peat, scorched spice, and charred oak.
Palate: Layers of Highland sweetness emerge beneath the smoke, creating a bold yet balanced experience.
Finish: Lingering, harmonious, and unforgettable – a whisky that echoes long after the final sip.

Presented in a wraparound label and bespoke carton with embossing and silver foil detailing, this striking release is limited to just 3,000 bottles globally.

Scott Morrison, Senior Brand Manager, commented:

“Phantom Smoke is a bold step for Timorous Beastie – a whisky that introduces peat for the very first time in the brand’s history. Combined with the dramatic influence of Crocodile Casks, it offers a completely new flavour journey for our Highland Malt, while retaining the sweet charm our Timorous Beastie fans know and love.”

With a UK RRP of £60.00 / €69.00, Timorous Beastie Phantom Smoke is available from specialist spirits retailers globally and online.

200-year-old Glencadam Distillery opens doors to new multi-million-pound whisky experience – Scotch Whisky News

200-year-old Glencadam Distillery opens doors to new multi-million-pound whisky experience

Historic East Highland distillery, Glencadam, has officially opened the doors to its brand-new visitor centre in Brechin, inviting guests from around the world to experience two centuries of craftsmanship in a state-of-the-art setting.

The launch marks a landmark moment in Glencadam’s bicentennial year, with the multi-million-pound development offering guests an immersive exploration of the distillery’s heritage and whisky-making artistry, with an intimate look behind the scenes of this storied distillery for the first time in its 200-year history.

From Saturday (15 November) visitors can enjoy guided tours, tutored tastings and an interactive exhibition, tracing Glencadam’s journey from its 1825 origins to its place among Scotland’s most celebrated single malts today. The new brand home also features a whisky lounge, café, retail shop and function suite, blending tradition with modern hospitality.

The new visitor centre is expected to generate significant benefits for the community, having already created 12 new job opportunities across hospitality, retail and tours, and is expected to attract tourism to the Highlands from across Scotland and beyond.

Iain Lochhead, Director at Angus Dundee Distillers, owners of Glencadam Distillery, said: “Opening our doors today is a moment of immense pride for everyone at Glencadam. This visitor centre is more than a building — it’s a celebration of 200 years of tradition, people and place, providing a unique opportunity to explore the history, craftsmanship and stories behind one of Scotland’s oldest working distilleries. It marks an exciting new chapter not just for Glencadam Distillery, but for the entire Brechin community.”

With a commitment to preserving Glencadam’s rich history, original features of the distillery have been carefully reimagined, alongside its contemporary interiors. A defining feature of the new visitor centre is the regenerated stone façade, crafted using reclaimed stone from the former Brechin Infirmary, preserving the town’s architectural heritage while celebrating Glencadam’s historic character. A working internal waterwheel, modelled on the original which was used to power the distillery back in 1825, has also been included in the new design, as a nod to the brand’s heritage.

Above the striking entrance, two Doig Ventilators, inspired by original Charles Doig 19th-century designs, now crown the building, bringing natural light and ventilation into the space. Each features an ornamental spire and ball, replicating the original pagoda style in the skyline of Brechin.

From the distinctive vertical seams of the pagodas to the interactive exhibition space, every detail has been designed to tell the story of Glencadam in Scotland’s whisky legacy.

Project Manager Gary Milligan said: “Every element tells the story of Glencadam’s enduring craft and connection to place. It’s about honouring the past while investing in the community for generations to come.”

Leading the new visitor experience are Brand Home Manager Michael van der Veen and Deputy Brand Home Manager Lauren Oliver, who have worked closely with the wider Glencadam team to create a warm, authentic and world-class welcome for guests.

Tours will run Thursday through Monday, from Saturday 15 November, with the retail shop open seven days a week.

Iain Lochhead added: “Whether you’re discovering Glencadam for the first time or returning as a long-time fan, our new visitor centre allows us to share the depth of our history, the craft behind each dram and the people who have shaped our story over two centuries. We can’t wait to share the next chapter of our story with you.”

As the team raise their first dram in the new whisky lounge, Glencadam looks firmly to the future as it continues to craft its award-winning single malt whisky while welcoming guests to explore where it all began, right in the heart of Brechin.

Bookings for tours and tasting experiences are now live at www.GlencadamWhisky.com

Established in 1825, Glencadam Distillery is steeped in history, heritage and tradition, handcrafting single malt Scotch whisky in a process that’s remained unchanged for 200 years. In 2021, Glencadam Distillery re-installed a working internal waterwheel, modelled on the original which was used to power the distillery back in in 1825.

Today, Glencadam’s multi-award-winning range includes American Oak Reserve, Reserva Andalucía, the 10-Year-Old, 13-Year-Old, 15-Year-Old, 18-Year-Old and 25-Year-Old expressions, as well as a series of special cask finishes.

The London Distillery Company reimagines its past with the launch of Yesteryear – English Whisky News

The London Distillery Company reimagines its past with the launch of Yesteryear

The London Distillery Company (TLDC) is proud to announce the launch of Yesteryear – a six-year-old single London rye whisky that reimagines the distillery’s original LV-1767 Edition, first released in 2018.

Yesteryear was crafted from the remnants of TLDC’s landmark release – the first new whisky distilled in London for over a century. Revived from glass, inherited with the purchase of the company by Gleann Mòr Spirits, the LV-1767 whisky was returned to wood for an additional two years of maturation, resulting in a reconceptualised expression of the whisky that started it all.

Founded with an ambition to reconnect London to its distilling roots, TLDC helped reignite whisky making in the capital, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary curiosity. Yesteryear continues that story. The new release preserves the distinctive rye character of LV-1767’s original distillate while exploring what that inaugural release might have been if crafted for today. The result is a whisky that feels both familiar and new – a perfect harmony of history and progress.

Alongside TLDC’s legacy casks, the remains of the LV-1767 Edition were discovered preserved in glass – a forgotten milestone in London’s whisky renaissance. Crafted from 100% Warminster Rye and matured in English oak, TLDC’s first release was laid down in October 2014 and bottled in 2018. It was named the LV-1767 Edition in recognition of the last company to successfully produce whiskey in London – Lea Valley Distillery. Rather than leaving the milestone release as an artefact, the distillery’s revival team sought to return the spirit to wood, to let it mature once more and evolve into something truly contemporary.

Following eighteen months additional maturation in first-fill sherry octaves, the whisky was then reassembled into a refill sherry quarter cask for six months, allowing the aromas and flavours to marry into a cohesive whole. The result is a six-year-old rye whisky that embodies London’s dual identity – steeped in tradition, yet unafraid to reinvent itself.

Only 188 bottles of Yesteryear have been produced. Bottled at 52.3% ABV and with an RRP of £69.95, they will initially be available from www.londondistillery.co.uk from Friday 14th November.

Speaking of the launch, Matt McKay, TLDC Managing Director and Whisky Maker said “Yesteryear marks a full-circle moment for The London Distillery Company. It honours the whisky that started the journey, while signalling what’s still to come. It’s a testament to the idea that craftsmanship is not static – that heritage, when approached with creativity and respect, can become a foundation for innovation. Yesteryear is a whisky born of our past, that has been shaped by our present, and that confidently points towards our future.
