We continue to be open!

However, following today’s announcement we have made some immediate changes to the way we are operating.

During January we are encouraging our customers to select to have your bottles delivered, especially if you are in the local Aberdeenshire & City area.

To assist with this we have expanded our local delivery area to the below regions.

When you select Local Delivery you will automatically be placed in to the next delivery day for your area (same day for orders before 4pm) alternatively you can use our regular delivery service.

Monday – AB41, AB42
Tuesday – AB51
Wednesday – Aberdeen City & Suburbs
Thursday – AB52
Friday – AB51

We also have a Collect in store option and recommend that you use this option only if you are in the area and your collection is part of an essential journey.

We are open from 12 – 4pm Monday – Friday
and 10am – 6pm Saturday

Knockdhu is a 125 year old distillery in the Aberdeenshire village  of Knock which means that its qualifies both as Highland and Speyside.

They pride themselves in combining traditional and modern methods  to make a lighter more graceful style of whisky which does not lack of peat. It is then aged in American bourbon and Spanish sherry oak barrels

This is a stunning and beautiful single malt. It shows its sherry and is intricate with great depth.

Nose

Densely sweet and spicy with a cosy embrace of Christmas cake. Rich yet crisp with notes of vanilla, toffee and lemon juice.

Taste

Spiciness continues with hints of candied orange slices, warm honey and worn leather filling the mouth with a symphony of maturity.

We were able to get a small quantity of this wonderful 24 Y.O. You can not get a single malt of this age and quality at anywhere near our sale price.

I can not think of a better way to start the New Year.

2020: A Year In Review

We don’t need to tell you it’s been a hard year, but we’re no strangers to turbulent times. From big milestones to new beginnings, 2020 has still given us plenty of highlights and moments worth celebrating. Join us as we look back on what’s been a memorable year here at The Glenrothes.

Back To It

After lockdown, we finally got back to doing what we do best. We made sure to implement safer ways of working, as the buzz around the distillery returned and the stills began to sing once more.

A New Arrival

Laura Rampling became our new Master Whisky Maker, bringing with her a wealth of expertise and an amazing nose for detail.

A Historic Launch

October saw the release of a milestone half a century in the making, as we launched our first ever 50 Year Old, a salute to the loyalty and craft of our distillery team.

We also celebrated our distillery manager reaching 40 years in the industry, and picked up several awards at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge. We hope, as you look back on your 2020, you’ve had some moments to celebrate as well.

Founded in 1833, Glengoyne is a small family owned distillery built under Dumgoyne, a prominent hill around 10 miles north of Glasgow. Although officially located in the Scottish Highlands, its warehouses, directly across the road, lie in the Lowlands. Gentle heating of the stills ensures that distillations are long and slow, resulting in a gentle, sweet, fruity spirit that is often filled into ex-Sherry casks.
