Maker’s Mark Celebrates its Warehouse Team with Latest Wood Finishing Series: The Keepers Release 2025 – American Whiskey News

Maker’s Mark Celebrates its Warehouse Team with Latest Wood Finishing Series: The Keepers Release 2025

LORETTO, Ky., Maker’s Mark, the iconic handmade Kentucky bourbon driven by a vision for better flavor and a better world, today announced the next iteration of its Wood Finishing Series, The Keepers Release 2025 – inspired by the warehouse team who ensure every barrel of Maker’s Mark matures consistently to the founders’ taste vision.

“From the beginning, our founders – my grandparents – went to remarkable lengths to create an uncompromisingly delicious bourbon,” said Rob Samuels, eighth generation whisky maker and managing director, Maker’s Mark. “We are delighted to introduce this latest Wood Finishing Series expression that celebrates the team who still rotate each and every barrel of Maker’s Mark by hand and who continue to embrace our founders’ perfectly unreasonable pursuit of excellence.”

Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series is a collection of one-of-a-kind expressions that use an innovative wood stave-finishing technique to enhance distinctive characteristics already present in the brand’s iconic bourbon. The Keepers Release 2025 showcases rich, oak-forward aromas of seasoned wood, brûléd sugar, and tobacco, leading to a long, enveloping finish characterized by dried dark fruit and a lingering roasted sweetness.

“The Keepers Release was born from our close collaboration with the Maker’s Mark warehouse team, the guardians of our barrels,” said Dr. Blake Layfield, master distiller, Maker’s Mark. Their sensory experience of Maker’s Mark is unlike anyone else’s — the aromatic oak at different times of the day, evolving tasting notes of our whisky as it ages over multiple seasons — which provided inspiration and helped us shape the flavors of this release.”

At 54.6% ABV / 109.2 proof, the release will be available at U.S. retailers for $74.99 beginning today. For more information, please visit www.MakersMark.com.

BOUT MAKER’S MARK
Maker’s Mark® is the iconic handmade Kentucky bourbon driven by a vision for better flavor and a better world. Maker’s Mark began with the innovative spirit of Margie and Bill Samuels, Sr., who in 1953, fulfilled their dream to create a delicious bourbon without the bite, using soft red winter wheat instead of rye to enhance the softness, sweetness and signature creaminess. Highly desired around the world, Maker’s Mark is handmade, hand-dipped in our signature red wax, and every barrel continues to be rotated by hand and is aged to taste not time.

Always true to the founders’ vision, Maker’s Mark continues to shape the brand’s future through purposeful, flavor-driven innovation. In recent years, the brand has introduced thoughtful, super-premium expressions to its portfolio, including Maker’s Mark 46, Maker’s Mark Cask Strength, and Maker’s Mark Cellar-Aged, all Double Gold winners of the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, as well as Maker’s Mark Private Selection: the brand’s custom barrel program.

Advancing its mission to cultivate bourbon that betters the world, while crafting the most flavorful product possible for consumers, Maker’s Mark is the largest bourbon distillery in the world to achieve B Corp Certification and the first distillery to achieve Regenified Certification, a reflection of the brand’s dedication to sustainable agriculture practices at Star Hill Farm, home to the Maker’s Mark Distillery. DEWAR’S BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY PUSHES THE BOUNDARIES OF INNOVATION AND DISCOVERY WITH RELEASE OF DOUBLE DOUBLE 21 YEAR OLD STONE TOASTED

DEWAR’S BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY PUSHES THE BOUNDARIES OF INNOVATION AND DISCOVERY WITH RELEASE OF DOUBLE DOUBLE 21 YEAR OLD STONE TOASTED

The world’s most awarded Blended Scotch is revolutionizing the art of cask finishing with an experimental stone toasting process using Icelandic Magma Rock

HAMILTON, Bermuda, – DEWAR’S® Blended Scotch Whisky, renowned for its pioneering and award-winning approach to blended Scotch, introduces the latest addition to its acclaimed Double Double series – DEWAR’S Double Double 21 Year Old Magma Stone Toasted. This cutting-edge release builds upon the award-winning Double Double 21 Year Old expression, introducing a new cask-finishing technique that sets a new benchmark for innovation in whisky maturation.

Crafted by six-time Master Blender of the Year, Stephanie Macleod and her blending team, this limited-edition release follows DEWAR’S signature four-stage aging process, ensuring extraordinary depth, balance, and complexity. This new iteration is finished in virgin French Oak casks that have never been previously filled and stone toasted using Icelandic magma rock—a method rarely, if ever, applied to whisky making.

“Our motivation is to always aspire to make ever greater whisky,” says Stephanie Macleod, Master Blender at DEWAR’S. “Curiosity and experimentation allow us to respond to the present and future desires of whisky lovers, and the Magma Stone Toasted expression embodies this philosophy, as we believe we are the first whisky to use this technique. We are always looking to push the boundaries and find new ways to do things, and this new finishing process has unlocked an entirely new spectrum of flavor for Scotch.”

The technique harnesses controlled, radiant heat from pre-heated Icelandic magma stones, allowing for more precise, even toasting that gently enhances the whisky’s fruit-forward character. Unlike traditional fire toasting, which relies on open flames, this method ensures uniform heat distribution across barrels, eliminating flare-ups that can cause inconsistent toast levels from cask to cask. To achieve this feat, the process employs electricity to heat the Icelandic magma stones, reducing reliance on combustion-based methods and lowering carbon emissions in barrel production, and the stones are placed in a metal cylinder within the cask, gradually emitting heat to gently open the oak’s pores. The result is an exquisitely layered whisky that showcases notes of cinnamon, cloves, creamy caramel, and baked apples, complemented by toasted cereal and a refined oak presence.

Brian Cox, Vice President of DEWAR’S North America commented: “This expression is more than just a new finish—it’s a celebration of craftsmanship, discovery, and the evolving art of cask maturation. By introducing something new and different to the category, we’re offering whisky lovers and newcomers alike a new way to experience the depth and refinement of Dewar’s, inviting them to discover rich layers of flavor shaped by time, tradition, and experimentation.”

DEWAR’S Double Double 21 Year Old Magma Stone Toasted follows the celebrated success of previous releases in the Double Double series, including Mizunara Oak finish, further cementing the brand’s position as a leader in innovation. As with all Double Double releases, this expression is non-chill filtered and contains no added caramel coloring. This limited-edition expression is bottled at 46% ABV, available in 750ml format, and carries a suggested retail price of $139.99.

For those interested in diving deeper into the creation process, DEWAR’S invites whisky enthusiasts to explore an educational video featuring Stephanie Macleod, detailing the meticulous craftsmanship behind this unique expression.

Jack Daniel’s Introduces 14-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey for the First Time in Over a Century – American Whiskey News

Jack Daniel’s Introduces 14-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey for the First Time in Over a Century

Jack Daniel’s latest in its annual award-winning Aged Series features Jack Daniel’s 14-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey along with 12-Year-Old Batch 3 and 10-Year-Old Batch 4

Lynchburg, Tenn. – The Jack Daniel Distillery today announced the release of its Jack Daniel’s 14-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey, marking the first time since the early- to mid-1900s that Jack Daniel’s has offered an expression at this age. This year’s Aged Series also includes Jack Daniel’s 12-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey Batch 3 and 10-Year-Old Batch 4, the latest in the annual release that nods toward the history of the Jack Daniel Distillery.

“When we released our first Jack Daniel’s 10-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey a few years ago, we set out to honor the legacy of Jack Daniel himself and replicate the lineup of age-stated whiskeys available during his time,” said Chris Fletcher, Master Distiller at the Jack Daniel Distillery. “This year’s releases build upon that as we re-introduce our new 14-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey, the oldest age-statement for Jack Daniel’s in the last 100 years or more. These whiskeys really showcase how a little extra time in our barrels is capable of producing something so special.”

Jack Daniel’s 14-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey, offered at 126.3 proof (63.15% abv), begins with Jack Daniel’s classic Tennessee Whiskey mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye, is distilled in Lynchburg, Tennessee, and is mellowed drop by drop through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal, just like the classic Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey. The additional years of aging for Jack Daniel’s 14-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey bring forward notes of sweet bakery spices with layers of oak. The palate opens with cinnamon and creamy butterscotch balanced with rich leather that lingers into aged oak and pipe tobacco.

Jack Daniel’s 12-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey Batch 3 is offered at 107 proof (53.5% abv) and has sweet and creamy notes of pipe tobacco, seasoned oak, and butterscotch.

Jack Daniel’s 10-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey Batch 4 is offered at 97 proof (48.5% abv) and is oak forward with layers of dark fruit and bittersweet cocoa.

Jack Daniel’s 14-, 12-, and 10-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskeys will be available this month in limited quantities across the U.S. in 700 mL bottles with suggested retail prices of $149.99, $94.99 and $84.99, respectively.

Additionally, Jack Daniel’s 10-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey will be available in select countries internationally beginning this summer.
