The wait is finally over as the highly anticipated Glengoyne 30 Year Old is available once again. A testament to the time we take to perfect our Single Malt Whisky, the striking natural amber colour of this limited edition whisky has been crafted from 12 sherry casks, hand selected by our Malt Master, John Glass.

As a nod towards our traditional cask sampling method, each bottle is presented in a luxurious solid oak box, with a rose gold bung topper. Non-chill filtered and bottled at 46.8% ABV, pour a dram and you’ll discover notes of cinnamon, cloves and tangy marmalade.

Bowmore 26 Year Old

1992 vintage single cask Hogshead of the Islay malt whisky bottled by Wemyss Malts. 235 bottles. Bowmore 26 Year Old 1992 vintage Islay single malt Scotch whisky ‘Smoked Pico De Gallo’. Single cask hogshead bottled 2018 by Wemyss Malts. 235 bottles. A lime-like and peppery hogshead with mild smoke and fruit notes.

Bowmore Distillery was established by David Simpson in 1779 on the Isle of Islay. Situated by the shore of Loch Indaal it is amongst the oldest working distilleries on Islay and one of the oldest malt whisky distilleries in Scotland. Bowmore Distillery continues to produce a proportion of its malted barley on its own traditional malting floors and malt kilns. Bowmore Distillery is a participant in Feis Isle, the Islay Festival of Malt and Music during which special bottlings. Macallan 26 Year Old Platinum Old & Rare

One of only 60 bottles filled from a single sherry butt on 25th May 2018, this Speyside single malt was distilled at the original Macallan distillery in June 1991. Matured for almost three decades, this cask strength release from independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. is presented at 55.2% abv. Mellow on the nose with dried fruits and a clear sherry influence. The palate is smooth and sweet, with creamy sherried notes before a dry finish with a touch of oak spice.

Inchgower 25 Year Old

Alexander Wilson established Inchgower Distillery in 1871 as a replacement for his Tochineal Distillery. Inchgower is situated just to the south of Buckie in Speyside and near the site of the former Inchgower coaching inn. Right on the mill lead which led water from the Burn of Buckie down to the Mill of Buckie thereby supplying the distillery with soft spring water. It was also conveniently sited by the road which ran to Buckie harbour and railway station. Inchgower’s still were increased from two to four in 1966 and most of its production is destined for blending.

THE SCOTCH MALT WHISKY SOCIETY TOAST THEIR ORIGINAL MEMBER WITH VERY FIRST BOTTLE

The founding member of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS), Philip ‘Pip’ Hills, will be hosting a special event at the whisky club’s spiritual home, The Vaults where he will be cracking open their first ever single cask bottling 1.1.

As part of the exclusive sold-out tasting on Monday, 18^th February, which will explore the Society’s origin story, members will have the rare opportunity to try the bottle that started it all, as well as a selection of other extraordinary drams.

Pip, who was at the forefront of a whisky revolution as he discovered single malt whisky straight from the cask and launched the Society in 1983, will be recalling tales of the rebellious early days.

It began when a farmer decanted a quarter cask of Glenfarclas into a lemonade bottle for him to try, his eyes were opened to the flavourful and interesting world of single cask whisky.

He then wondered why it was so difficult to get hold of quality single malt and bought some of his own, only to be inundated with phone calls from his friends and strangers asking for a taste.

This formed the foundation of what became the world’s leading whisky club, allowing enthusiasts to discover, share and celebrate this exceptional spirit together.

Since its inception, The SMWS, which celebrated its 35^th anniversary last year, has gone on to win a number of prestigious awards and has over 26,000 members in the UK and around the world.

In celebration of this, members will be raising a glass to the original pioneer and sampling single cask bottling 1.1 at the event, which will filmed and subsequently available to view online.

Only members of the SMWS can access its exclusive supply of award-winning single casks drawn straight from the barrel and an array of exclusive events and tastings to share whisky experiences with other enthusiasts.
