Dallas Dhu
33 Years Old 1974

The Dallas Dhu distillery was one of the unfortunate distilleries to close in 1983 and has been a highly sought after commodity since. This single malt was first distilled in 1974 and was aged for 33 years before being bottled in 2007 by Historic Scotland, the current caretakers of the distillery. Being one of only 100 bottles, this whisky is unlikely to show up often, so get online and bid while you can!

AUCTION ENDING SOON!

Our auction is almost at a close, finishing on Sunday the 18th at 8pm GMT, so we thought we’d give you a final glimpse of some of the fantastic whiskies on offer from great distilleries, like this amazing Rare Malts 1975 Brora, which is a real cracker, aged for 20 years before being bottled at cask strength with its natural colour. Also this 23-year-old Brora bottled by Chieftain’s, distilled in 1981 – two years before the closure of the distillery, one of only 846 bottles.

We’ve already highlighted a wonderful 1958 Highland Park and thought we’d show you another cracking vintage release from the Orkney distillery, namely this 1973 single cask#11167. Aged for 28 years before being bottled in 2001. Another great expression in limited numbers, only 524 produced.

Last up, this quirky bottling of 1984 Port Ellen for the Bladnoch Forum. Drawn from a single cask#2461 and aged for 24 years before being bottled at cask strength, limited to only 644 bottles, is now becoming a rarer sight in auctions these days.

Whatever your preference, we’ve got something we think will interest everyone and remember folks, if you want to place a cheeky late bid, you’ve got to be in it to win it! There’s still time to register at clickwhiskyauctions.com

Click Whisky Auction June 2023 Auction Mid Way Point! – Scotch Whisky News

Our auction is almost at a close and finishes on Sunday the 18th at 8pm GMT so we thought we’d give you a final glimpse of fantastic whiskies from great distilleries. Double trouble with this amazing Rare Malts 1975 Brora is a real cracker, aged for 20 years before being bottled at cask strength with its natural colour. A 23-year-old Brora bottled by Chieftain’s makes up the duo, distilled in 1981 two years before the closure of the distillery and is one of only 846 bottles.

There seems to be a bit of a theme in our auction this month when it comes to the 1950’s, like this beautifully coloured Mortlach 1954. Bottled in 1998, again by Gordon and MacPhail, this eye-catching Speysider is sure to attract the attention of serious whisky folks.

Last up, two very serious whiskies, absolutely brimming with provenance and genuine quality, bottled once again by Gordon and MacPhail, for the highly revered Private Collection. The Caol Ila was distilled in 1965 before the Islay distillery was refurbished, aged for 36 years then bottled in 2002. The colour of the Old Pulteney 1973 is incredible, a snapshot of proper whisky from a superb Highland distillery, aged for 30 years before being bottled in 2003.

Another successful auction in the bag! – Scotch Whisky Auctions News

Our 144th auction has now closed, achieving some fantastic hammer prices in the process.  Here a few of our highlights from this month.

W & A Gilbey bottle from the wreck of the SS Politician

So it seems that history does in fact have a price, and that price is £11,500!  We love to see bottles like this come through the auction as they highlight the crucial importance of whisky to Scottish material culture, showing how the mighty dram intersects with Scottish history at every turn.

Yamazaki 1984 25th Anniversary

Distilled almost four decades ago this tremendous example of Japanese craftsmanship was bottled to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the birth of the Yamazaki brand.  This particular milestone in Japanese distilling history does not come cheap however, with this lot reaching the princely sum of £13,000 at auction.

Laphroaig 1970 14 Year Old Cadenhead’s for SCOMA GMBH 75cl

We knew this was a great bottle as soon as we laid eyes on it, and it proved to be so achieving a thoroughly respectable £10,000 hammer price at auction.  It’s not everyday you see a Laphroaig distilled over 50 years ago so kudos to the eventual buyer who has secured themselves a special bottling for sure.

Hanyu Ichiro’s Malt Card Eight of Hearts

A longstanding favourite of those amongst us who collect Japanese whisky, the Hanyu Ichiro’s Malt Card Series is a collection of bottles highly prized and regularly sought-after.  We don’t see them all that often, indeed this was only the second sale of a Eight of Hearts through our auctions, so the final hammer price of £5,800 (the highest we’ve ever sold it for) seems a good deal for both buyer and seller!

With yet another successful auction behind us we now start the hard work of preparing next months auction.  The 145th auction will be going live Friday the 30th of June and there is still time to get your bottles submitted with the deadline for bottles not until Friday the 16th of June.  Have a good month everyone, we’ll be in touch again once the next auction is good to go.

We’re delighted to tell you about this month’s auction, there plenty to be excited about! Here at Click Whisky Auctions we know that our auction may not be the biggest but this month it’s certainly packing a punch, with some genuine heavyweight whiskies. First up, the Highland Park 1958 must be one of the most iconic releases by the Orkney distillery, bottled in 1998 and limited to only 665 bottles!

Next up this absolutely stunning Old Pulteney, aged for 40 years and limited to only 493 bottles, the oldest whisky from this popular Highland distillery to date. The hand-crafted, hand-blown bottle has exquisite artwork and is presented in packaging that exudes pure class, a rare addition to any collection

First released in 2022, the Springbank 30 Years Old was received to great acclaim in the whisky world. An annual release available in very limited numbers, so we are very excited to be able to offer the 2023 release in this month’s auction.
