Heaven Hill Distillery Announces Fall 2023 Edition of the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Series – American Whisky News

Heaven Hill Distillery Announces Fall 2023 Edition of the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Series

BARDSTOWN, Ky.(November 27, 2023) – Today Heaven Hill Distillery announced the release of the Fall 2023 edition of Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey at 8 years old. Comprised of barrels produced in Fall 2015, the twelfth national release ushers in the latest edition to the decanter series which adds to the bottled-in-bond legacy.

Bottled in an ornate decanter, the Fall edition is denoted by a black label. As was the case for the past editions, this edition’s tax strip, which has always been a signature of transparency on bottled-in-bond products, will disclose when the liquid was produced and bottled. The Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Fall edition will be available in the 750ml size on an allocated basis. It meets the strict requirements of a bottled-in-bond: the product of a single distillery from a single distilling season, aged a minimum of four years, and bottled at 100 proof or 50% alcohol by volume. This edition is available at the suggested retail price of $109.99.

The Fall 2023 edition of Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey bares a bright burnished copper color, with a nose of brown sugar and toasted bread in addition to cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste is smooth on the palate beginning with notes of peaches and cream, followed by peppery spice and caramel sweetness. Spice notes linger in the finish along with peach and pear notes and a caramelized brown sugar finale.

“As a leader of the Bottled-in-Bond category, Heaven Hill is proud to offer a premium product within this special class which showcases the authenticity and quality of the American Whiskey portfolio,” said Conor O’ Driscoll, Master Distiller at Heaven Hill Distillery. “The Fall 2023 8-year-old Old Fitzgerald Bottled-In-Bond has the best qualities of a classic Kentucky Bourbon with the unique sweetness and spice this beloved brand is known for.”

Acquired in 1999 by Heaven Hill, the legendary Old Fitzgerald line is well-known for its distilling pedigree and intriguing story behind its namesake, John E. Fitzgerald, whose legacy is also heralded by the Larceny Bourbon brand.

Lux Row Distillers introduces Rebel Small Batch Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey – American Whiskey News

Lux Row Distillers introduces Rebel Small Batch Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Hand-selected barrels, blended in small batches and bottled at 110 proof, deliver intensified flavors from Rebel’s traditional wheated mash bill

St. LOUIS (Nov. 28, 2023) – Lux Row Distillers announced the release of Rebel Small Batch Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, featuring barrels that were hand-selected by Lux Row Distillers Master Distiller John Rempe and blended into small batches. A limited allocation of Rebel Small Batch Reserve is set to reach retail shelves across the country later this month at a suggested retail price of $34.99 per 750 ml bottle.

Rebel Small Batch Reserve features some of the finest barrels from Rebel’s traditional four-year-old wheated-bourbon mash bill, bottled at 110 proof to deliver a more intense flavor. The resulting bourbon features an aroma containing rich scents of honey, vanilla and caramel; a palate of dark fruit, caramel and vanilla with robust tones from the barrel; and a warm finish, followed by a light spice.

“It’s always a pleasure to set aside notable barrels to release in small batches, as it provides fans of our bourbons the opportunity to enjoy the brands they love in a unique way,” said Rempe. “Rebel Small Batch Reserve is an example of taking the same time-honored wheated recipe created in 1849 and presenting it in a small-batch format and at 110 proof. The result is an exceptionally bold, yet dependably smooth, take on Rebel that consumers are certain to love.”

Whisky Wednesday Reviews Ardray Blended Whisky – Scotch Whisky News

https://youtu.be/etnh5boJEWs

I’ve been waiting for some Scottish/Japanese collab on a blend, and finally, we have it!

Ardray is a whisky comprised of all of the Beam-Suntory Scottish liquids, put together by the minds and palates of the folks from Suntory. A collaborative effort to show how balanced and flavourful blended whisky can be. Most people love Hibiki, but where’s the love for the regular blends in regular bottles?

A combination of:

Auchentoshan, Ardmore, Bowmore, Glen Garioch, Highland Park, Laphroaig, Macallan, and North British – this things really sings when it comes to balanced citrus, and really subtle smoke notes from some weighty ingredients. All natural colours with non-chill filtration.

Give all blends a chance. If I hear one more person complain about blends… just do some reading beforehand. Most blends contain your favourite single malts. Just stop being a whisky bigot!
