Jack Danielās is one of the most recognisable names in spirits, having helped define Tennessee whiskey since the 19th century. While Old No. 7 remains this Lynchburg distilleryās most famous expression, Jack Danielās has expanded its range over the years, including its latest release, aged for ten long years under the Tennessee sun ā a feat not to be underestimated.
This rare age-statement release from Jack Danielās is rich and layered after a decade in American white oak. The classic banana bread aroma we love to see from this famed distillery shows beautifully here, accompanied by concentrated butterscotch, tobacco, candied orange and sweet spices.

The Macallan Lead Whisky Maker, Euan Kennedy, and Joan Roca, one-third of the Roca brothers, owners of El Celler de Can Roca, twice named Worldās Best Restaurant, went in search of the essence of the city. Hong Kong has managed to re-imagine the possibilities of the public space, mixing ancient tradition with startling modernity.

This whisky captures the energy and complexity of Hong Kong. It is a symphony of flavours, with rich intensity from ginger, spice and antique oak, balanced by the tropical vibrancy of mango and grapefruit. Each layer contributes to a rich and multifaceted experience that mirrors the city’s dynamic nature.
Natural
Rich, resinous and sweet. Aromas of decadent ginger and spices, balanced by vibrant tropical characteristics like pomelo and mango. Subtle suggestions of Hong Kong style egg tart, fragrant honey, and incredible antique oak.
Viscous and mouth coating at first, bright tropical sweetness is followed by beautiful ginger and rounded spices providing great structure. Gentle waves of aged oak, grapefruit and an umami like depth.
Vibrant antique oak continues to shine.
WHISKYLAND CHAPTER TWELVE TORMORE – 33 YEAR OLD
Whiskyland Chapter 12 is a single 1992 refill barrel of Tormore, aged for 33 years and bottled at natural cask strength. Itās full of vibrant citrus peels, waxes, and bright cereal notes. Incredibly pure and vivid old malt, with the kind of character that distillate fanatics dream of.
A bold, natural dram, just as Jimmy Barleycorn would want it.
Meet Jimmy Barleycorn – one of the many characters that inhabit Whiskyland.
He only shows his fizzog when whiskies of great age with extraordinarily pure raw ingredient characteristics emerge. So, in other words, catching sight of Jimmy Barleycorn is a rare occurrence. Thankfully, he’s cutting about with glee for Whiskyland Chapter 12: a single refill barrel of 1992 Tormore, matured for 33 years and bottled at natural cask strength.
As Jimmy Barleycorn’s presence denotes, this is pure, raw, vivid old malt whisky, that reeks of raw malted barley, yeast and time. A pale, powerful, bright and waxy old dram for those, like Jimmy, who like their whiskies raw, natural and naked!

LEXINGTON, KY ā Wednesday, April 2025Ā ā Keeneland Race Course and Makerās Mark, the iconic handmade Kentucky bourbon, today announced the second bottle in the āGreats of the Gateā 10-year commemorative bottle series celebrating Thoroughbred racingās most iconic horses. Proceeds from each yearās limited-edition bottle benefit nonprofits that support Kentuckyās horse racing industry and vibrant culture of hospitality and the arts.
The limited-edition bottle will arrive on shelves on April 11th ā the same day as the prestigious $650,000 Makerās Mark Mile (G1) during Keenelandās Spring Meet. The bottle will be available exclusively at select Kentucky retailers that sell Makerās Mark with a suggested retail price of $179.99. The 2025 āGreats of the Gateā bottle will honor the legendary racehorse Lexington, who competed from 1853 to 1855, winning six of seven races, and was famously sold to stud for the highest price ever paid for an American racehorse at the time.
āThe āGreats of the Gate’ series is a unique opportunity to honor the legendary horses who shaped the sport while also supporting the organizations that allow Kentuckyās culture to thrive,ā said Rob Samuels, eighth-generation whisky maker and Managing Director, Makerās Mark. āWe’re incredibly proud to continue our longstanding partnership with Keeneland, which has deep roots in Kentuckyās horse racing heritage and whose patrons enjoyed the very first Makerās Mark cocktails in the 1950s.ā
The bottle features an illustration by Kentucky artist Tyler Robertson with artwork wrapping around the bottle in orange and black – the racing silks colors of Lexington. The bottleās crown will be dipped in bright orange wax and topped with a white silk ribbon. Every bottle will include a certificate of authenticity signed by Makerās Mark Managing Director Rob Samuels; Keeneland President and CEO Shannon Arvin; renowned artist Tyler Robertson; and Bret Jones, President of Airdrie Stud, and a descendant of the horseās owners.

Over the course of the 10 years, Keeneland and Makerās Mark are committed to raising $4 million for various Kentucky nonprofit organizations through this bottle series.

Our first stop is in the Highlands with this fabulous collections of whiskies, this is the Brora Triptych – 1972 Elusive Legacy, 1977 Age of Peat and 1982 Timeless Original 3 x 50cl.Ā A distillery with a somewhat troubled past Brora has nonetheless gained a fearsome reputation for quality over the years.Ā Ā This extra special set of bottlings from Brora was produced to celebrate the reopening of the distillery in 2021. With only 300 sets released, this is a genuine piece of history and includes aĀ 38 year old, a 43 year old and a 48 year old!

Chichibu Cyborg Trilogy Series 3 x 70cl
Japanese whisky has been going from strength to strength for a number of years now and with their focus on traditional methods and high quality production Chichibu have been at the forefront of the Japanese whisky revolution.Ā This is the Chichibu Cyborg Trilogy Series 3 x 70cl and is comprised of 3 single cask bottlings, two of which were agedĀ in ex-Bourbon barrels and one aged in an Imperial IPA cask.Ā Following on from the Sci-Fi theme of the popular Intergalactic series the cyborg series features Ghost in the Shell style augmented humans on their rather cool labels.
From Japanese Sci-Fi ladies to the picturesque Mull of Kintyre, this understated beauty is the Longrow 1974 25 Year Old.Ā Ā The first distillation of Longrow was carried out in 1973 as an experiment, when the Chairman of Springbank Distillery set out to prove that it was possible to produce an Islay style single malt whisky on the mainland, and boy are we glad he did.Ā With its pungent punchĀ and muscularĀ finish Longrow has long been a favourite dram of us whisky nerds here at SWA, and this one is as good as they come!Ā Ā Distilled just after production began in earnest and aged for a whopping 25 years this a very special dram indeed.As always, we have a wide range of drams with something to suit everyone, so now is the time to get moving picking out your own personal favourites for your watchlist.Ā Best of luck to everyone in the auction, and as alwaysā¦ā¦ā¦..donāt lose your bottle.
