Whisky Wednesday Reviews Lagg Corriecravie, 55% ABV – Scotch Whisky News

Lagg Corriecravie, 55% ABV

https://youtu.be/g7kZevk_ApM

My second experience of Lagg, and I have to say that it is yet to let me down in any way at all. The first release was expensive, but due to the secondary market, I don’t blame them. A sherry finished whisky (the colour is remarkable!). We have a peat level of 50ppm, 55% ABV, and what makes this all even more impressive is that it can only be 4YO, at most.

This is better, in many ways, than most new Ardbeg releases. Most new, affordable Bowmore releases, most new Highland Park releases…and it’s just over £60 a bottle. Stop reading this and go and buy one. Watch the review first, though, of course.

Whisky Wednesday Reviews Ardnamurchan Sherry Cask – Scotch Whisky News

https://youtu.be/K8gQXgkVBs8

Ardnamurchan Sherry Cask Release!

A combination of first fill oloroso and Pedro Ximinez casks, with a mix of fifty percent peated malt and fifty percent unpeated malted barley.  Ardnamurchan are the distillery of the future for me. A transparent presentation, but with the liquid being genuinely good, bits of peat, bits of lemony sweetness. Truly fantastic. You’d be hard pressed to tell me this whisky was only six years old at most. A truly wonderful bit of west coast flavour.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 499: Macduff 14 Year Old 2008 Liquid Art – Scotch Whisky News

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 499: Macduff 14 Year Old 2008 Liquid Art

Mark Dermul, Belgian whiskyblogger, tries a Macduff single malt. Macduff is a little known distillery as most of their production goes into blend such as William Lawson’s. And they market their own single malt as The Deveron, named after a nearby stream. But Mark has the good fortune of trying a 14 year old from 2008 bottle at cask strength by the Belgian bottler Liquid Art.
