Festooned with Virgin Oak, Oloroso and Pedro Ximinez sherry, at 46%, natural colour and non-chill filtered. Well, what else do you say? Billy Walker. Speyside. Loads of sherry.

However, with the interplay between the three cask types, typical notes of ‘Christmas cake’ and ‘rasins’ are put to one side for thick butterscotch and toffee. Sweet tobacco and dark chocolate carrying a bitter and pleasant contrast to that lusciously indulgent nose. Wonderful!

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries the first release of a new distillery, always something to look forward to. In this case, Ardnamurchan actually waited until their whisky was five years old. This is a vatting of 53 casks: 65% former bourbon casks and 35% sherry casks, both oloroso and PX.

Created using a 4,000 year old process called Nixtamalization. This 100% corn whisky is double distilled in traditional copper pots, then aged in a combination of fresh and refill American oak casks. A tribute to the heirloom nature of corn in and from Mexico, delivering its presence and rather lovely taste to the world stage! Also! Nixta Corn Liqueur! The same process and mash as the whisky, but with a lower ABV and has the addition of a clarified corn mash. Sweet, indulgent and just the right amount of savoury alcohol to contrast the sweetness!
