The Good Dram Show – Episode 374 ‘Canadian Whisky’
Welcome to this weeks episode of the show in which I’ll be looking at two new releases from Two Brewers and a few other Canadian whiskies.

Our latest trip to Kentucky sees us cross the path of a classic, a must try and a must have for all Bourbon drinkers. Honestly, as far as value for money goes, can you do better than this? In any category of whisky? Solid age, higher ABV, readily available, so affordable, great neat, ice, cocktails. It can’t be beaten, it won’t be beaten. It is a foundation product of pure class and quality from a brand that oozes with myths and legends. Some of you may think the score is a little generous, but I stand by it, proudly. Wild Turkey 101. Cheers!

This weeks episode of the show is a ‘from the archives’ episode and features both distillery bottlings and independent bottlings of Ben Nevis.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 331: Lagavulin 20 Year Old Fèis Ile 2020
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky vlogger, got hold of the Lagavulin for Feis Ile 2020. Because of the corona crisis no Islay Malt & Music Festival this year, but luckily a special release for Feis Ile 2020 was released. This Lagavulin, which matured no less than 20 years, took about two days to sell out. With only 6.000 bottles, that surprised Mark a bit. It matured on a combination of refill hogsheads and both oloroso and PX sherry casks. It’s a very inviting amber with thick legs.

Alright, alright, alright. Let’s get a few things straight here, Wild Turkey make incredible whisky, literally some of the best in the world. Then celebrities get involved, for once it hasn’t been a bad outcome.
Refined with Texas Mesquite Wood, sourced from McCoughnahey’s home state, the Kentucky and Texas link is in a harmony of sorts. Whether the ‘refined’ elements is a type of charcoal filtration? Or perhaps some heavily charred barrel influence is yet to be confirmed, however, the overall flavour is heavy with minty rye spice and ripe juicy peaches. It’s not expensive, it’s going to be readily available for a while, I don’t see why this different style of Wild Turkey shouldn’t be for you. It isn’t classic, but that’s not a bad thing. Cheers!

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 330: Caol Ila 16 Year Old Fèis Ile 2020
Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky vlogger, got hold of the Caol Ila for Feis Ile 2020. No Feis Ile this year because of Corona, but luckily we do get a Feis Ile release. This Caol Ila, limited to 3.000 bottles, was sold out in less than three hours. The malt first matured on refill bourbon hogsheads and then got a finish on Amoroso treated hogsheads (BTW: this is the type of cask that Diageo uses for the Distillers Edition of Talisker). Let’s hope – although Mark is fairly confident – that it’s tasty.

Welcome to this weeks episode of the show in which I’ll be taking a look at some new releases from Morrison & MacKay in their Celebration of the Cask and Strictly Limited ranges.
