Whisky Wednesday Reviews Dingle Small Batch No.6, 46.5% ~ Irish Whisky News

Dingle Small Batch No.6, 46.5%

https://youtu.be/5U5YNRb5uDQ

Not really a man who enjoys port matured whiskies…there have been some big exceptions, but this is a little mind blowing!

Dingle have only been distilling since 2012, approaching that decade marker at some point this year. But after having released their first standard single malt in late 2021, this small batch release genuinely stopped me in my tracks after it smacked me in the face with beautifully contrasting bitter and sweet flavours.

I haven’t tried releases one through five, but if they’re anywhere near as good as this then we all need to sit up and pay attention to what’s going on in County Kerry.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 429: AnCnoc 2005 Single Cask Exclusive for Premium Spirits – Scocth Whisky News

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 429: AnCnoc 2005 Single Cask Exclusive for Premium Spirits

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries a peaty AnCnoc. He changed jobs not so long ago. After more than 12 years as Teamleader at the ING Business Credit Center, it was time to broaden his horizons once again. He started working as a Customer Journey  Expert – what a great-but-utterly-unrevealing title, right? – and he’s really enjoying myself in that position. His BCC colleagues offered him this bottle as a parting gift. They know his love for whisky all too well, of course.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 428: Isle of Islay 10 Year Old 2007 Creative Whisky Company – Scotch Whisky News

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 428: Isle of Islay 10 Year Old 2007 Creative Whisky Company

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries an incognito Lagavulin. The Creative Whisky Company was founded by David Stirk,  raised and then… Sold. Yes, that’s how it often goes. This is still a cask that Stirk bought, but at the time of bottling he was no longer the owner. This Isle of Islay is indeed Lagavulin – no secret is made of it  – and was bottled for the online shop The Whisky Barrel. The cask yielded 285 bottles at 100 Proof or 57.1% ABV. Nice and pale, which suggests that this is spirit-driven.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 427: Lagavulin 11 Year Old Offerman Edition – Scotch Whisky News

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 427: Lagavulin 11 Year Old Offerman Edition

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries a US-only Lagavulin. Nick Offerman is an American actor and comedian who makes no secret of the fact that he loves to drink Lagavulin. He even had this included in the script by the screenwriters of the TV series Parks & Recreation, so that his character Ron Swanson also likes Lagavulin. It was inevitable that a Lagavulin Offerman Edition would appear, being an 11-year-old.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 426: Caol Ila 10 Year Old 2010 Old Particular for Our Belgian Friends

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries a special Coal Ila. This Caol Ila was bottled by Douglas Laing in their well-known Old Particular series, but stands out for two reasons. Firstly, you can see the Belgian tricolor on the label, because it is exclusively bottled ‘for our Belgian friends’ and secondly it is a single cask that was bottled at cask strength. The refill hogshead thus yielded 296 bottles. It is very pale, by the way.
