Mannochmore 2016 Christmas PX Octave

We’ve bottled an extremely limited octave for Christmas, full of rich and spiced flavour and perfect for these longer nights. A very special release for Christmas 2025. This Mannochmore was matured in a hogshead for just under 8 years, then finished in an ex-Pedro Ximénez Octave for 14 months for layers of dried fruit and sweetness.

Founded by John MacDougall in 1815 as one of the first official distilleries on Islay, over its 200+ year history, Ardbeg Distillery has firmly established itself as one of the most iconic single malt producers, not only on Islay and in Scotland but across the globe. Several of its offerings have earned prestigious awards including “World Whisky of the Year”, “Scotch Whisky of the Year” and “World’s Best Single Malt” and the enterprise itself has been recognized as “Distillery of the Year”. The arc of Ardbeg’s evolution over the last two centuries has not always been smooth and upward and, in fact, in the 1980s and 1990s, it twice ceased operations until, in 1997, it was acquired by Glenmorangie and returned to full production. When Glenmorangie was subsequently acquired by LVMH/Moet Hennessy, Ardbeg became part of that group and, ever since, its trajectory has been solidy upward.

Key to Ardbeg’s status and achievements is its distinct style which is premised on an unabashed embracing of its coastal and peaty provenance. Its offerings are certainly among the most bold and smoky on the planet, but due to their unwavering commitment to quality in the production process, those attributes are well-complemented by other textural, structural and flavor characteristics that truly intrigue and engage one’s palate.

The Legacy Single Cask series showcases a handful of standout bourbon casks selected by Elixir Distillers, the custodians of Tormore Distillery. Each release highlights Tormore’s bright, fruit-driven spirit and offers a unique snapshot of its style as it has evolved through the decades.

Cask #16 — Launched Exclusively for The Whisky Barrel

This 19-year-old whisky was distilled in January 2006 and bottled in August 2025 from a single 1st fill ex-bourbon barrel chosen for its vibrancy and expressive Speyside character. Matured entirely in bourbon oak, it reveals Tormore’s orchard-fruit DNA at full clarity.
