New Arrivals and Back in Stock at K&L California – American Whiskey News

Westland “#6062” K&L Exclusive Single ex-Jack Daniels Maple Wood Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky (750ml) $109.99 View

This exceptional and usual barrel comes one of the country’s premier producers of America Single Malt. Few would argue that Westland isn’t one of the very best and this exciting cask is one of the oldest we’ve ever sold from this venerated Washington producer. They started with malted barley from Baird’s in the highlands of Scotland. This batch was peated to a hefty 55ppm before being shipped to Washington to be fermented with their proprietary Belgian saison yeast and distilled on their gorgeous copper pots. Filled into a new Coopers Select on June, 19th 2014, it aged a full 4 years before being transferred to a maple wood barrel that had previously held the famous Tennessee whisky from Lynchburg. After nearly 2.5 years more, the barrel was dumped and bottled exclusively for K&L without chillfilteration or coloring of any kind at a seamless 108.88 proof. The rich complexity of this cask cannot be overstated. The dense peat mingle perfectly with the multiple wood types offering both classic and new world flavors that will entice even the most smoke averse whisky drinker. Only 120 bottles made it out of the notoriously leaky maple wood barrel and we’re certain they won’t last long. The wonderful single barrel program is the perfect complement to the newly release and perfectly executed Flagship product that so much value and consistency as to literally define the category. All should continue to take note of what this fabulous distillery is doing in the heart of Seattle.

Bardstown Bourbon Company “Discovery Series #6” Blended Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ml) $135.00 View

The exceptional Discovery series from Bardstown Bourbon Company have consistently been some of the highest quality releases each year. This fabulous new gleaming distillery isn’t shying away from the details when it releases these sourced products and they spend an inordinate amount of time and energy making sure these small batches deliver an incredible drinking from the first nosing to the final sip. This batch is a meticulous marriage of whiskies from three states. The primary component, 68% of the blend, is an 11 year old Kentucky Bourbon with a classic 75% corn, 13% rye mashbill. This is presumed to be distilled at Barton Distillery just miles from the Bardstown Distillery, but the distillery has never confirmed that fact. The rest of the blend is made up of equal parts of Tennessee 17 year old at 8% rye and an Indiana 7 Year old at 21% rye. These are pretty obvious considering no other distillery in either state sells to others parties, so we assume Cascade Hollow and MGPi for these components respectively. Despite the very distinctive profiles of each distillery, neither dominates in the blend and the resulting bourbon is a perfect balance of the rich dusty old Tennessee Bourbon, deep fruit forward Kentucky and the zesty youthful Indiana. Ultimatley, very few products in this price point or any other offer such a high quality drinking experience and with no allocation, you’re free for once to load up the bunker.

Extremely Limited 29-Year-Old Single Malt: Bruichladdach’s Black Art 9.1 – Scotch Whisky News

A Singular Scotch Collectible from Renaissance Star
1992 Bruichladdich “Black Art – Edition 9.1” 29 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) ($599.99)

The rebirth of Islay’s renowned Bruichladdach distillery has been one of the most exciting developments of the past decade in the Scotch world, which makes this release that much more compelling. The oldest single malt ever sent to market by Bruichladdach, the Black Art – Edition 9.1 is an unparalleled glimpse into history and tradition, as it was produced and laid down before the distillery’s closure in 1994. Matured for 29 years in cask (only head distiller Adam Hannet knows what kind of cask), this extraordinary unpeated whisky is hands-down one of the most impressive collector’s items we’ve seen come through the door in recent years. Displaying opulent, layered aromatics and flavors carried by mesmerizing depth and viscosity that are second to none, it’s a Scotch experience unlike any other. We’ve taken in a painfully small allocation, so avid aficionados will want to move fast, as opportunities like this only come along once in a blue moon.

17-Year-Old Single-Grain Japanese Whisky at a Comparative Steal – Japanese Whisky News

Incredible Rarity and Singular Style: A Collector’s Must-Have
2003 A Secret Distillery In Japan “The ImpEx Collection” K&L Exclusive Single Barrel #2128 Single Grain (100% Barley) Japanese Whisky (750ml) ($299.99)
“… it’s one of the rarest whiskies out there, and it’s a no-brainer for any lover of grain spirits.” — Andrew Whiteley, K&L Spirits Buyer

Fresh on the heels of our wildly successful offer of the Mars Shinshu 2021 Limited Edition Single Malt, we’ve got a sublime, singular offering that takes collectible Japanese whisky to another level altogether. This spectacular K&L Exclusive Cask is shrouded in mystery, but the quality of the juice is as clear as day. We can’t say who made it, but we know there’s an undisputed master of Japanese distillation behind it. A truly remarkable rarity, it’s made from a 100% barley mash bill, which is almost never seen in Japan these days, and the 17 years it spent in oak have rounded out the style to something unlike anything we’ve ever come across before. Spirits buyer Andrew Whiteley succinctly declares, “This might be the most exciting Japanese whisky offering we’ve had in decent quantity in years.” His co-conspirator David Othenin-Girard likewise calls it “a bizarre yet wonderful and welcome addition to the pantheon of legendary K&L Exclusive whiskies.” Deep and complex yet vividly fresh and vibrant, the profile shows off its raw materials with utter clarity while taking its stunning oak profile very seriously. Even as many similarly age-stated renditions from the titans of Japanese whisky are going for a four-digit king’s ransom (when you can even find them), this secret dram presents a comparatively astounding value and should be snapped up by any and all serious collectors of the world’s finest and rarest spirits.

2003 A Secret Distillery In Japan “The ImpEx Collection” K&L Exclusive Single Barrel #2128 Single Grain (100% Barley) Japanese Whisky (750ml) ($299.99)

K&L Notes: This highly unusual offering from the wonderful team at ImpEx represents one of the finest examples of Japanese whisky we’ve ever come across. Distilled entirely in Japan from 100% barley, it’s labelled “Koji” Whisky, implying that asparilligus was used to aid in enzymatic breakdown of the grains prior to distillations. The key factor that distinguishes this special whisky from many of the other “single grain” whiskies from Japan, which are often distilled from rice and do not qualify under Japanese law as whisky, is that it is produced exclusively from barley. After 17 years in oak, the character and complexity are undeniable. While the distillery cannot be named, there’s no doubt that it was distilled by one of the masters of Japanese distillation. We were extremely skeptical, but after just one taste it was clear that this whisky would go down as one of the country’s most delicious, unusual, and indeed rarest offerings to date. One of only two casks that were produced for the ImpEx Collection. Only 205 bottles came from barrel #28, which were botttled exclusively for K&L Wine Merchants.

David Othenin-Girard | K&L Spirits Buyer | Review Date: December 14, 2021

We’ve come a long way since K&L bought our first barrels of Japanese whisky in 2013. Those two barrels were from the famous Karuizawa distillery and have become absolute legends, some of the most sought-after whiskies we’ve ever sold. Since then we’ve not managed to sell another Japanese whisky made from barley at all! Many of the rice-based, sochu-style whiskies have come and gone, often young and very far outside the standards set by the Single Malt category. When I stumbled across this seemingly too-good-to-be-true whisky, I was more than skeptical. With absolutely no information about production, we can only speculate about where this whisky might actually come from. While that’s hard for some to accept, there’s simply no way to deny the incredible quality of this unusual product. One of only two 100% barley whiskies in the lot, the other of which was sent in its entirety to Texas. Other ImpEx whiskies you might see in California are NOT 100% barley. The bottles are listed as Single Grain, because it’s not clear if the barley was malted or not. All we do know is that it’s a single cask distilled from only barley and aged for 17 years in a new oak barrels.

Let’s taste it. The color is calming amber. The nose is an absolute endless escape into powerful savory and fruity aromas—spice box, old varnished wood, persimmon, graphite, roasted chestnuts, cherry compote, 70% Ecuadorian cacao, burnt orange peel, and toffee. Honestly, if you handed this to me and told me it was bourbon from the ’60s, I wouldn’t bat an eye. On the palate, there’s great texture and tons of really juice fruit, framed powerfully by the incense-like wood flavors. The spice pulls up, and we don’t really perceive the low proof in terms of texture. A few drops of water aren’t necessary as they tend to bring out more wood at first, but with more aeration the thing becomes extremely composed again adding lift to the palate and tempering the spice. I still think I like it better right out of the bottle, and like one might imagine, this bottle loves air—just keeps getting better in the glass. It’s a bummer we don’t know what this is, because I desperately want more. It fits in the most perfect niche in between single malt and bourbon. A bizarre yet wonderful and welcome addition to the pantheon of legendary K&L Exclusive whiskies.

Andrew Whiteley | K&L Spirits Buyer | Review Date: December 14, 2021

This might be the most exciting Japanese whisky offering we’ve had in decent quantity in years. Poured blind, this whisky would be a standout in anyone’s collection regardless of the story and ImpEx’s reputation. Now consider that it’s one of the rarest whiskies out there, and it’s a no-brainer for any lover of grain spirits. The unusual production process, while interesting, isn’t really all that necessary to focus on. The point is that it’s 100% barley distillate aged in oak for 17 years. That puts it right up there with Suntory’s premium 18-year offerings, which regularly fetch four-digit price tags on the open market. The color of the whisky is surprisingly dark, a freshly sawn mahogany. The aromatics are extremely lively, jumping out of the glass with a plethora of stone fruits, sweet blossom, and a bushel of barley. Perhaps it’s the koji process, but the grain feels fresh and cooked at the same time, like smelling a field of ready-to-harvest barley after a rain and a rich broth that’s been on the stove for hours. The palate is rich and complex. It reprises the nose, but adds cedar, sandalwood, and other exotic spices. Finish lasts forever. It’s a special whisky, no doubt.

Malt Messenger Bulletin December 22, 2021 by Andrew Ferguson – More Tastings & a Few New Products! – Whisky News

The end is in sight… at least that is the perspective from those of us in retail. There are just two shopping days until Christmas – or as our KWM staff call it: “two well-earned days off”.

We love the bustle of the season and helping people pick the perfect gift, but we are definitely counting down the hours, less than 48 at the time of writing. But new products continue to arrive and we’ve managed to get another seven virtual tastings up on the website.

I’ll keep the intro short, as time is fleeting, and leave the rest for you to browse at your leisure, now, in the weeks ahead, or maybe never… Regardless, this is the last time you’ll hear from me in 2021, and from everyone here at KWM, we hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

As always, in the event of a discrepancy in price, the point of sale at KWM will be taken as correct. Please don’t hesitate to email me with any questions, comments, or requests (but online ordering works too, in fact, it might be faster…).

Sincerely,

Andrew Ferguson

2. First Edition Jura 2007 – 50.1% – 14 Year – Sherry Butt – Producer Tasting Note: “A mellow, rounded, and sweet nose of crème brûlée, vanilla custard, and iced gingerbread. Authors Series<

We also have a trio of Authors Series releases, a couple of which we’re going to tuck into a tasting! These look very cool, and the reviews are good, but frustratingly, there are no producer-tasting notes…

1. Authors Series Blair Athol 1989 – 45.6% – 31 Year – Sherry Hogshead – $810 – 89pts Whisky Base

2. Authors Series Clynelish 1993 – 53.8% – 27 Year – Bourbon Barrel – $800 – 90.4pts Whisky Base – 1 Per Customer!

3. Authors Series Cragganmore 1995 – 57.2% – 25 Year – Sherry Butt – $700 – 88.75pts Whisky Base

Introducing: SMWS 53.269: Hospital Juice…

We were fortunate to get a better than usual allocation of this Islay single malt because a certain adjacent jurisdiction felt the name was inappropriate or untimely. Once more, who are we to look a gift horse in the mouth?

You do have to be a member to purchase Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottlings, but if you were considering joining the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, the World’s largest whisky club, this bottle would qualify you for your first year’s membership with purchase.

SMWS 53.269: Hospital juice – 60.5% – 10 Year – Refill ex-Bourbon Hogshead – SMWS Tasting Panel’s tasting note: “A crustacean-encrusted blade of raw salt and peat cuts a swathe from the top of the glass. At its edges coagulates notes of antiseptic, sheep wool, fresh oysters stunned with lemon juice, and some limey and gravelly minerality. Water dislodges notes of blue peat smoke, smoked mussels, burnt herbs, bacon sizzling in goose fat, and smoked German beer. The mouth is pure peat oils. Coal tar soap, burlap, squid ink, and mercurochrome all dominate with support from crushed aspirin, TCP, beach pebbles, and BBQ char. Water brings an oiliness and magnifies the viscosity. Notes of peated mead, motor oil, smoked bread, and natural tar essence all emerge. A burning rosemary bush and some salted pecans in the finish.” – $195+gst

New Whiskies From Paul John

There hasn’t been much available from Paul John in recent years, but a new importer could be set to change this. Here are three never-before-seen-in-Alberta Paul John releases:

1. Paul John Christmas Edition – 46% – Finished in Bourbon, Port & Madeira Casks – Producer Tasting Note: “Nose: Caramel, orange marmalade, berries, malty, coconut and dry raisins. Taste: Creamy, spicy, light smoke, butterscotch, and barley. Finish: Rather long and warming notes with Cocoa, light peat, and spices. Balances: An exotic and multi-faceted peated malt with deep, creamy flavours and a rich finish.” – $90

2. Paul John Oloroso Sherry Indian Single Malt – 48% – Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks – Producer Tasting Note: “Nose: Peach, apricot and light notes of molassess and blood orange. Taste: Soft and sweet, with nutty chocolate and Melton Hunt cake. Finish: Long, intense, and sweet with delicious heavy spices imbibed from the Oloroso casks, a dash of coffee mocha, and sumptuous dark chocolate. Balance: An intense and a complex single malt with a sensational explosion of incredible flavours.” – $128

3. Paul John PX Sherry Indian Single Malt – 48% – Finished in PX Sherry – Producer Tasting Note: “Nose: Fig and apricot with a rare hint of banana. Taste: Sweet barley with creamy butterscotch, dry fruits, and Christmas cake. Finish: Long and exquisite, with chocolate fudge, orange peel, and exotic wine drenched nuts. Balance: Intensely sweet like a dark Spanish dessert sherry, having been gloriously finished in handpicked Pedro Ximenez casks.” – $128

New from Amrut… Sort of!

Amrut has begun independently bottling whisky, under the Single Malts of India range. The first bottling is of a peated coastal single malt, and it is bottled at 46%.

Producer Description

“Ancient Tamil texts, dating back to the Sangam period (300 BC – 300 AD), classify mother earth into five regions called Tinais, each being associated with its own distinct literary style, grammar, mood, subtle as well as overt form of romance, culture and even cuisine. “Neidhal”, according to this classification comprises all Oceans and neighboring regions or in short Coastal Plains and the way of living one associates with them.

“This is a special peated single malt whiskey. The whiskey base is procured from another distillery, matured in charred American oak casks and polished at Amrut. Neidhal “is our first independent bottling,” and the first Chapter of our journey with this series of unchartered waters.”

Amrut Neidhal Chapter 1 “Coastal Plains” – 46% – Producer Tasting Note: “Nose: Notes of tropical fruits, vanilla punctuated by soft phenols, and above all sea salt. Taste: Notes of fruit cocktail and mesmerizing phenols with a touch of iodine. Finish: Finish is phenolic with a touch of sweet vanilla.” – $112

A Few Gift Suggestions

No time to offer dozens of suggestions at different price points, so here are 10 must-have bottles, that would make a great gift!

1. Old Pulteney Huddart – The most curious whisky in the distillery’s new core range, Huddart is bottled at 46% after finishing in casks which previously matured heavily peated single malts. – Regular $83.99 ON SALE! Now $54.59

2. Cadenhead 7 Star Blend – This high-malt-content Blend is superb value. Cadenhead 7 Stars is a historic Blended Scotch Whisky, which hasn’t been bottled in decades… until now! The blend is composed of whiskies sourced from all over Scotland, which are then finished in Oloroso sherry casks “giving it a bolder, yet well balanced, flavour.” – $70

3. Waterford Single Farm Sheestown 1.2 – This single farm origin single malt was produced from barley grown by Philip O’Brien at Sheestown Farm in County Kilkenny. Distilled in 2016 and bottled at 2020 after 4 years at 50%. Matured in a a mix of 33% ex-Bourbon, 19% Virgin American Oak, 25% ex-French Wine & 23% Vin Doux Naturel casks. Produced from the Irina barley variety, and fermented with Mauri Distiller’s Yeast for an impressive 131.5 hours. – $102

4. Tomatin 2009 Private Cask – This 2009 Tomatin cask was selected with the assistance of KWM and bottled for the Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary’s). It is an Oloroso Sherry Hogshead, Cask 3450, bottled after 12 years at 59.6%. – $145 – $15 from every bottle will go to the Veterans Foodbank of Calgary!

5. Glenfarclas 185th Anniversary – To celebrate their 185th Anniversary, the Glenfarclas Distillery has created a special multi-vintage bottling, just as they did for their 175th Anniversary. Only 6000 bottles have been released globally, bottled at 46%. – $170

6. Berry’s Orkney Islands 2003 KWM Cask – Proof that Highland Park by another name is just as, if not sweeter… Matured 17 years in a Sherry Butt (Berry’s Cask No.1) before bottling at 59.9% in 2021. It is almost 50% stronger than the Highland Park 18 Year, and about 15% cheaper… that and it’s awesome. Would we ever bottle it if it were not?! – $180

7. Daftmill 2008 Winter Batch Release – From the coolest distillery you’ve likely never heard of. This is a pleasant surprise, another Daftmill release, which we were not expecting. It is also one of the biggest releases of Daftmill we’ve seen, 6000 bottles filled at 46% after maturing 12 years in First Fill ex-Bourbon barrels. 88.25pts Whisky Base! – $200

8. Kilchoman 14 Year MS Society Cask – The oldest Kilchoman yet to come to Canada, has been bottled for the MS Society of Calgary, Calgary and area chapter by Gold Medal Marketing and Kensington Wine Market. Distilled May 24, 2006 the whisky was filled into a Bourbon Barrel (#78/2006), and matured just shy of 15 years before bottling on March 15, 2021, at 53.4%. $225 – $25 from every bottle purchased by December 31 will go to the MS Society of Canada!

9. G&M CC Mortlach 1998 KWM Cask – One of a pair of casks from Gordon & MacPhail selected by, and bottled exclusively for, KWM in 2021. This 22-year-old is from a First Fill ex-Bourbon Barrel, bottled at 58%, and one of only 183 bottles. We were drawn to this cask partly because it is atypical of the distillery style, and because it is a tropical fruit bomb. – $300

10.   Peat’s Beast 30 Year Islay Single Malt – We know absolutely nothing about this whisky, other than that it is a 30-year-old Islay single malt, matured in “oak casks”, and bottled at 50.6%. That and the fact it is utterly gorgeous, and amazing value for an Islay single malt of this age. – $615

Batch #1 Last Feather Rye Cask Strength Single Barrel Release – American Whiskey News

Last Feather Rye Cask Strength, Single Barrel Batch #1 Releases Saturday December 18th

It’s like a sip straight out of the barrel

THREE OAKS, MI (December 16th 2021) — The wait is over. Batch #1 of our flagship spirit Last Feather Rye, at cask strength from a single barrel, is ready for release.

If you have mystical respect and acknowledge they exist, then shhhh, we not only found a ‘honey barrel’ hiding in the rows of rickhouse #3, but we’re releasing it Saturday, December 18th.

Having been selected unanimously and independently by: Founder Bill Welter, Production Manager Tom Balich, Lead Distiller Matt McClain, Operations Manager Joe Biggs and the production team, it is the real cream of the crop and the best single barrel sampled by this esteemed team. It turns one-of-a-kind into one-of-a-find.

Crafted from the same mash bill as traditional Last Feather Rye, of 60% rye and 40% red winter wheat, this Batch #1 is 4 years old. Certified organic, gluten-free and kosher, it exemplifies the Journeyman ethos.

This LFR single barrel batch is cask strength. It’s like having a sip straight from the barrel – not missing anything from the aging process and nothing is added. The mystery is the adventure. The actual proof was revealed, as it was dumped straight from the single barrel, at 117.

With no temperature controls in rickhouse #3, it gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter, accelerating aging and encouraging optimal flavor extraction. This unique single barrel expression came out of a 30g barrel from the Barrel Mill Cooperage in MN. The barrel is made from white oak and has a char level 3. The #3 char typically provides the following tasting profiles that will be present in this special single barrel whiskey: caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, toffee and brown sugar.

The whiskey is a radiant sienna in color with brown sugar and hints of freshly spun cotton candy on the nose. The spice of the rye comes through up front, with a subtle sweetness on the back end. Notes of graham cracker and toffee are present with a trace of cinnamon and allspice followed by a minty sweetness rounding out the whiskey. “The whiskey has a nice mouth feel and warms the belly on a cold winter day,” according to Bill Welter.

This Last Feather Rye cask strength single barrel exemplifies the very best of our flagship brand and the very best efforts of the Journeyman team. There is only one Batch #1. You’ll know it by its signature white wax seal. Catch one if you can.

This small batch, limited edition is sold exclusively at Journeyman Distillery, Three Oaks, MI beginning at 11:30 ET Saturday, December 18th. 750 ML of Last Feather Rye Cask Strength Single Barrel limited edition available at $64.99.

Founded in 2010, Journeyman Distillery crafts, bottles, sells, and serves organic and kosher certified spirits at the historic Featherbone Factory in Three Oaks, Michigan. The distillery prides itself on using the highest quality grains sourced from Midwestern organic farmers in its award-winning spirits as well as at its Staymaker restaurant. Journeyman products are distributed in 19 states across the country and available for purchase direct from the distillery. Learn more and find your spirit at journeymandistillery.com.

2007 Glen Elgin 14 Year Old “Signatory K&L Exclusive” Hogshead Cask Strength Collection Speyside Single Malt ~ Scotch Whisky News

2007 Glen Elgin 14 Year Old “Signatory K&L Exclusive” Hogshead Cask Strength Collection Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) ($89.99)

K&L Notes: While many distillery owners prefer shell and tube condensers because they are cheaper and easier to maintain, it is no secret that, for many great malts, a worm tub is critical to the final character. Glen Elgin is a classic worm tub distillery. Juicy fruit and palate weight are the major hallmarks of Glen Elgin, situated in Speyside’s small hamlet of Fogwatt. The distillery has very long fermentation times (ranging from 80-120 hours) and an unusually clear wort. Combine that with very slow distillations and you have a vibrant, fruity malt. Condense that fruity malt in a slow, meandering worm tub, and you’ve got robust body. This somewhat paradoxical profile has lead Glen Elgin to be prized by blenders and have a cult following among single malt enthusiasts. Fortunately for K&L customers, Signatory has secured a choice cask for us. Aged 14 years, matured in hogshead. Distilled on 5/1/2007. Bottled 5/21/2021 53.2%ABV. Cask No 800253. It’s big and rich with bushels of stone fruit and chewy malt.

Andrew Whiteley | K&L Spirits Buyer | Review Date: November 03, 2021

Don’t let the pale straw color of this malt fool you. It’s a rich tapestry of fruit and grain with just a light veil of wood. The nose is full of fleshy ripe fruits ranging from nectarine to pear to golden apple. If grain ripened like a fruit, this would be ripe malt as well. A delicate savor feels almost like the crunch of hot, freshly fried tempura. It’s chewy and satisfying, yet somehow light. The palate is thick with malted barley and a fresh snowy blanket of citrus zest. If you love malt for malt’s sake, this cask is too good to skip.

David Othenin-Girard | K&L Spirits Buyer | Review Date: October 29, 2021

Slowly but surely the fabulous Glen Elgin distillery is gaining fans. We likely have our friends at Compass Box to thank for producing several excellent blends that highlight the gorgeous and nuanced character of this semi-rare distillery. We bought a few barrels from an excellent lot of ’95s nearly a decade ago, and over that period have yet to come across one that suited our tastes. This one, however, offers the perfect snap shot of a malt-driven Elgin at an altogether reasonable price. Similar whiskies sell at competitors’ shops for $30-$40 more, and none will deliver the purity and zest of this supple offering. The color is pale straw. Slightly shy at first, but with just a few minutes in the glass the nose opens up exceptionally. A pure, linear maltiness encompassed by golden raisins, flecks of cacao, salted caramel, and Barlett pear skins. On the palate, utterly pristine pear and pointed white pepper. The texture is much richer than the color would imply. Oily and chewy with tons of honeyed sweetness up front moving toward roasted almonds and pithy citrus on the back. It’s almost shocking how fun this is right out of the bottle, but with a splash of water it explodes with tropical fruit aromas. Kiwi, papaya, yuzu! On the palate, it’s still got plenty of weight and adds a toasted vanilla character. Utterly perfect for those who appreciate the malt-driven character that this relatively naked Speysider can offer.
