Speyburn’s Rob Roy cocktail is the perfect serve to raise a toast to St Andrew later this month – named after a strong Scotsman, just like St Andrew, it’s best enjoyed on an autumnal evening by the fireplace. Easily recreated at home with minimal ingredients and equipment, this cocktail showcases Speyburn’s 10 Years Old beautifully, creating a sweet and full-bodied flavour.

Ingredients

50ml (2oz) Speyburn 10 Years Old
25ml (1oz) Sweet vermouth
2 dashes (3 dashes) of Angostura bitters Garnish: Cherry

Glassware

Rocks Ice: Cubed

Method

Add all your ingredients to a short glass before filling with ice and stirring for 15-25 seconds.

Some relaxed news

We can hardly believe it’s already been six weeks since Maltstock! We’re still enjoying all the feedback since it was very positive indeed. It was great to see so many relaxed happy people. Your appreciation was also shown by the record number of early bird tickets sold. Amazing!

Maltstock 2023

Next year we will be back at our regular venue in Overasselt! Although we were very happy that we found a suitable venue this year, nothing beats the relaxed atmosphere of “het Buitencentrum”. The Ukrainian refugees will be relocated the coming months. Hopefully to more suitable accommodation. So business as usual again next year!

Festivals

Twp weeks ago we were at the always so relaxed WhiskyBase festival. What amazing show these guys put up. It really is such a relaxed festival. Do check their website for next years tickets, because you should not miss it (we recommend the Sunday, even more relaxed)! Big thank you as well to Jürgen and Steven for their very relaxed assistance.

The next festival where you’ll find us is The Hague, 18-20 November. Always great to see so many old and new relaxed friends there. Stop by at our stand for a relaxed dram. The team will be there, together with some of our volunteers and you can even chat to some of our Maltstock visitors! Very happy to have Silvia and Dominique present to tell you about Maltstock from a visitor perspective. And a few people from our team are also still hosting the whisky trails.

This seasonal limited edition from The Macallan pays tribute to the world-famous Scottish celebration of Hogmanay – or New Year’s Eve to those from farther afield! This release is a collaboration with acclaimed Japanese-French illustrator Erica Dorn, whose artwork has featured in the visually striking cinema of Wes Anderson.

The second release in our limited annual series continues to draw inspiration from our deep-rooted connection to the natural world and explores our future packaging journey.  You will be able to enter for the opportunity to purchase, and are limited to one entry per bottle.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION

The Harmony Collection name evolves from the fusion of our inherent curiosity with our principles of innovation and creativity. Our hybrid packaging is created using existing structures fused with organic by-products.

Both the presentation box and label have been made from repurposed and recycled materials. The packaging has been expertly crafted to give new life to coffee bean husks – an organic by-product of coffee – that would otherwise have been discarded.

Inspired by Intense Arabica will be available from The Macallan Online Boutique via The Macallan Ballot with delivery to select locations,  The Macallan Estate Bar and in premium retailers, bars and restaurants around the world from October 2022. There will be limited availability worldwide.

As our Global Travel edition, Smooth Arabica will be available in The Macallan Airport Boutiques, key airports around the world and China Hainan Island duty free shops from November 2022.
