WhiskyWhiskyWhisky Forum – Spirited September Online Tasting Info

From Mark at Whisky Whisky Whisky

September’s tasting will consist of anything that has not been aged for 3 years. Everything from new make straight off the stills to spirit that has been in a cask for two years. Plenty of distilleries are selling the stuff now, and not just the new ones, so it shouldn’t be a problem getting hold of some.

This tasting will be the weekend of 26-27th.

This month’s live tasting thread is now open to cater for all timezones (and the fact that I’m going to the Auchentoshan Festival in an hour or two). Feel free to drop in at any point over the weekend, even if you don’t have anything from the southern hemisphere to hand.

Whisky Agency

Our new series have been released now and some bottlings have already sold out.

We`ve therefore started to prepare our new range for autumn 2009 and look very much forward to offer you some beauties “from the good, old days” then again.

In the meantime we`ve gotten back some remainders of our “Liquid Library -Islay” set which we`ve originally done for export markets. It`s not much
left in fact but all seven bottlings are excellent for drinking and come
with nice art labelling (with works by Hans Dillesse www.hansdillesse.net).

We`ll have some for sampling with us at the Berlin Coepenick Fair next weekend and at the Villa Konthor Party by the end of September.

Our current range is updated here: www.whisky-agency.com and you may contact us: post@whisky-agency.com

Whisky Fair
Our 1976 Benriach bottlings have been doing really well & we`ve run out of
supply by now.

Now we`re proud to announce our next bottling for arrival during October:
Lochnagar 1972, dense & oily body, thick & powerful – a typical old-style
Highland character from the golden period of whisky production.
Excellent, as we find it!

The present stock is to be found here: Whisky Fair Online Shop (Whisky Fair Online Shop) & all additional info here:  info@whiskyfair.de

Whisky Exchange Tastings -Update

we2

Dear All,

Highland Park places all went in an hour yesterday, so we’re moving on to the next options:-

In addition to this, we’ve also got the services of Mr Phil Huckle from Chivas Regal on the evening of Monday 21st September. For those of you that assume that blend is inferior to single malt and that the word conjures up some fairly horrific memories of a bottle of Glen Bagpipe ‘Finest’ (sic) Blended Whisky that some benevolent soul picked you up from Tesbury’sdasons for Xmas (which you’ve subsequently used for removing sticky-tape residue), we’d say that you’ll definitely be missing out on a treat. Longmorn and Strathisla are two of our favourite whiskies and they, along with some 18yo grain whisky, form the heart of Chivas Regal’s 18yo Blend and we’re never slow to recommend a bottle of that to anyone who’s looking for a great blend.

This is a rare chance to experience how the ‘ingredients’ of a blend come together and you can judge for yourself if the sum is greater than the parts. At the moment we’re likely to limit this event to a maximum of 30 places and tickets for this will be £25 each which will go on sale from 3pm on Thursday 27th August.

All that remains is for us to wish you the best of luck with the redial button and we hope to see as many of you as possible over the course of September, even if you only call round to see the Ardbeg Beastie-Mobile on Saturday 19th….

Kind regards

The Team
