Richard Paterson, AKA ‘The Nose’ & ‘The Master Blender’ Is Up To Something SECRET! – Scotch Whisky News

rp

Richard Paterson is hosting a small, intimate event in Glasgow on Thursday, October 15 for reasons which are being kept secret until next week.

Would W.I. like to invite one reader to come along?

9:05 AM. Occasionally Whisky Intelligence receives submissions from previously unknown people on various subjects. In this case a subsequent email promised more details which have, so far, not materialized. However it is noteworthy that Richard Paterson is up to something and thus the decision was made to publish the scant information available in the hopes that further salient details will be revealed in due course.

10:35 AM. The details are revealed shortly after the original post;

Dear one and all,

You are invited to an evening with Whyte and Mackay’s Master Blender Richard Paterson on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15 at DALMORE HOUSE, 310 ST VINCENT STREET, GLASGOW.

The reason for the event and the plan for the evening will be revealed on Friday, October 9 but please note the following:

It’s a low-key and casual event, however we would be delighted if you blogged and tweeted about it before and after and included links to the main Whyte and Mackay site and to Richard’s blog at www.themasterblender.com
The event is predominantly for the online community but some distinguished members of the whisky press may be present
Filming, picture taking, audio recording, live tweeting on the night are all welcome
The event is regarding the main Whyte and Mackay brand, not Jura, Dalmore or any of the other brands

You are invited to join us from 6pm for a prompt 6.30pm beginning. The event should be over by approximately 8pm.

RSVP to this email before 5pm MONDAY OCTOBER 5 to be confirmed for this event. Acceptances after this time cannot be guaranteed entry.

Also, entry may be refused if anyone is found to be smuggling ice in to the event.
ENDS

If you would like to attend please submit your name to Whisky Intelligence using the submission form at the top of the home page.

Federal Wine & Spirits Ardbeg Tasting
Beauty and The Beist, Steller!
Thursday Oct 8th Pourings at 4:00 P.M. & 5:00 P.M.

Joe writes,

Ardbeg Evangelist, Divinia Small the beautiful, will bring us the new, the release of Corryvreckan and the old, the last of the Beist which is being discontinued. There are very low stocks, so if you like it, now is the time to get it.

Corryvreckan named for a whirlpool very close to the Isle of Jura that almost drowned George Orwell, is a wonderful addition to the line, a cask strength whisky for everyday drinking which will please the distillery’s fans.

This will be the last of the 17 y.o Airigh Nam Beist which is reaching the end of its run. We will have the the cask-strength Uigaedail.

Unless you are one of the lucky ones to have scored some, this will be your only chance to taste Supernova, It is already legendary, just a few months after its release. Please don’t call to order it. We have none to sell, and I won’t sell the tasting bottle either.

With the best Ardbeg pricing in years, this will be a tasting not to be missed.

Old Price NEW

Ardbeg 10 Y.O. – 46% $64.99 $61.99
