AUCTION CLOSES TONIGHT FROM 7.30PM

This is just a reminder to let you know that whisky.auction’s December auction closes tonight from 7.30pm GMT, so you only have a few hours to make your final bids. There are still some great bottles to be had, including two bottlings of Johnnie Walker Directors Blend, as well as impressive whiskies from Karuizawa, Ardbeg, Port Ellen, Macallan, Highland Park, Caol Ila and Bruichladdich. If a bid is placed within the last three minutes of the scheduled finish time, the lot will be extended for a further three minutes, allowing you to place a further bid if you wish.

These are the closing times for each category – a great way of simplifying placing your final bids:

• 7.30pm – Books, jugs, memorabilia and miniatures

• 7.50pm – Japanese

• 8.00pm – Islands

• 8.10pm – Lowland

• 8.20pm – Highland

• 8.30pm – Speyside

• 8.40pm – Campbeltown

• 8.50pm – Islay

Our next auction will start on Sunday 31 January – if you have bottles to sell, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Established in 1881 Bruichladdich is situated on Lochindaal across from the village of Bowmore on my favourite Scottish Island; Islay. Reed Pettit is Canada’s Bruichladdich Brand Ambassador and he will be on hand to guide you through the 5 whiskies and the history of this great distillery. We’re not gonna tell you what we’re pouring but we’ll give you a hint: we’re starting with The Classic Laddie at 50% and moving along from there and they just keep getting bigger and bolder until . . . which is the finale. So grab one of our limited tickets and join us on Tuesday January 19th for another Whisky Pairing Dinner here at The Kitchen, our very talented kitchen team will once again be pairing 5 of these stunners with 5 incredible dishes.

BOUTIQUE WHISKY FESTIVAL IN VANCOUVER

6:00pm – 6:30pm Walk through and sign up for tours. Guests will arrive and be able to walk around the floor at their own leisure and see which brands are being represented as well as sign up for any of the three guided tours. Space for each tour will be limited to 10-15 people per session.

6:45pm – 7:15pm Tullibardine tasting session: This session will be hosted by James Robertson, International Sales Manager at Tullibardine Distillery. This session will showcase Tullibardine Sovereign, Tullibardine 228 Burgundy Finish, and Tullibardine 20 year old.

7:30pm – 8:00pm Amrut tasting session: This session will be hosted by Ashok Chokalingam, Head of International Operations for Amrut Distilleries. This session will showcase Amrut Naarangi, Amrut Fusion, and Amrut Peated.

8:15pm – 8:45pm Springbank tasting session: This session will be hosted by Ranald Watson, Sales and Marketing Manager at Springbank Distillery. This session will showcase Hazelburn 12 year old, Springbank 10 year old, and Longrow Peated.

8:45pm – 9:15pm We will be presenting a classic cocktail using Canadian Rockies 21 as the base spirit.

The chocolates have been eaten, board games played and TV schedules searched for anything that isn’t a repeat. So what next?

As a Glengoyne Family member, we’re inviting you to put your holiday downtime to good use – be part of our worldwide version of Robert Burns’ Address to a Haggis.

Simply video yourself reciting your favourite verse from the poem; a glass of Glengoyne in hand may help to set the scene. Make the video as simple or elaborate as you like. Brush up on your Scots and head for the hills with the dog – or record it from your beach barbecue. Wherever you are in the world, just don’t miss the deadline: upload it by 11 January.

OUR DECEMBER AUCTION IS NOW LIVE!

Our final auction of the year is now live, and will end on Thursday 7 January – please note that this is two days longer than normal, to give people plenty of time to place their bids over the Christmas period.

We hope you had a great Christmas and enjoyed some good bottles from our previous auctions – but now is the perfect time to restock your drinks cabinet!

We have a full set of Pappy Van Winkle – a six-bottle lot ranging in age from 10 to 23 years old; we also have the Nikka 70th Anniversary set, comprising four engraved bottles of cask-strength whisky, released in 2004. You’ll also find a good selection of Irish whiskey and rum including some from the now-closed Caroni distillery. There is also a strong line-up of old blends and bourbon. Our miniature selection is top-notch, too: we have many old Irish miniature bottles, a Glenlivet 12 Years Old from the 1950s, and a very rare 1920s Grant’s Liqueur, a pure malt containing just Balvenie and Glenfiddich single malt. Look out for the following bottles, and good luck with your bids!

You can bid in two ways: either increase the highest bid by a fixed amount, or place your maximum bid straightaway – ideal if you can’t be online on the last day of our auction. Be the first to bid!
