Scotch Whisky Auctions ‘The 175th auction is now live!’ – Auction Whisky News

Welcome one and all to our now live 175th auction!  We hope you are all having a tremendous festive season, with many a dram and mince pie close to hand.  As with every month there are literally thousands of high quality bottles in the auction to choose from, so to get your watchlist started we’ve picked out a few special drams to shine a light on.

Let’s start with a bang shall we?  This incredibly distinguished dram is the Macallan 40 Year Old The Red Collection.  This is an absolutely astounding release from Macallan which showcases their mastery of sherry wood ageing.  Individually numbered and signed by Macallan’s first female Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell, this whisky is as special as they come.

Next up is the one that started it all for this up and coming farm distillery in the heart of the Kingdom of Fife, this is the Daftmill 2005 Inaugural Release.  A marriage of three casks which produced the relatively small outturn of 629 bottles, this is a light whisky in the Lowland style and helped to establish Daftmill in the crowded distillery landscape as one to watch.

From the Kingdom of Fife to the Land of the Rising Sun, this rather delicious looking dram is the Hanyu 1991 Cask #370.  Hanyu Distillery has long gone the way of the dodo, and so stocks of the remaining liquid are precious and scarcely available.  This whisky has been bottled by the good people at the Number 1 Drinks Company whose foresight helped bring this lost treasure to market.

And finally, we have an absolute classic of a dram, this darkly inviting whisky is the Glengoyne 28 Year Old.  Unfussy packaging, no bells and whistles or marketing gimmicks, just really good whisky at a (relatively) fair price.  Glengoyne has long been a favourite of ours here at SWA and drams such as this one are the reason why.As always we have an enormous selection of drams to suit every budget on offer this month, so now is the time to delve into this month’s offerings and start building that watchlist.

Best of luck to everyone in the auction, and as always………..don’t lose your bottle.

DECEMBER 2025 AUCTION ENDING SOON!

It’s almost a wrap for our December auction but there is still time to bid for your favourite bottles, like this delightful bottle of Clynelish, aged for 17 years and then bottled at Cask strength in 1998 as part of the Manager’s Dram series.

Or how about this early expression of Caol Ila, which was bottled by Bulloch Lade under license from DCL. 12 year old Caol Ila was more commonly available under the Flora & Fauna label in the 1990’s before the distillery unveiled it’s core range in 2002 and so this is an interesting bottle.

The 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival was a major event, held on a 120-acre site on the south bank of the River Clyde, from April 26 to September 26, 1988. It attracted 4.3 million visitors and featured hundreds of gardens and pavilions, using derelict dockland to showcase the city’s regeneration. The festival is considered pivotal in reinventing Glasgow’s image, leading to a cultural renaissance and boosting tourism. This offering was distilled at Bowmore Distillery in the late 1970’s, aged for 10 years and then bottled to commemorate this momentous event.

Officially released in the beginning of October 2023, the Hearach derives It’s name from the Gaelic word Na Heardh translating to a person from Harris. The 1,916 bottles produced for this momentous inaugural bottling signifies the total number of people living on the Island. Bottle number 1,048 of only 1,916 bottles produced.

These are only a few of the old, limited and collectable bottles featured in our December 2025 Auction, to view more wee gems visit clickwhiskyauctions.com. Register to bid. Remember, you’ve got to be in it to win it! Auction ends Sunday 21st December from 8pm GMT.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers, whether you have bought sold, placed bids or browsed our auction throughout 2025, we truly appreciate it. Warm wishes also go out to the team at Whisky Intelligence for their amazing, continued support, for which we are very thankful. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2026!

DECEMBER 2025 AUCTION NOW LIVE!

Ho ho ho, do we have a small but mighty auction for you this month! With a number of old, limited and rare bottlings, including this older expression of Springbank bottled in the 1970’s. The neck label from this time period would usually indicate the age of the whisky but this is missing, however, extensive research suggests the age of the spirit within the bottle is 8 years old. Expressions of Springbank from this era are becoming increasingly harder to find making this an interesting lot to put on your watchlist!

Another rarity is this Caol Ila which was gifted to Diageo employees in 1996 to mark the 150th anniversary of the Islay distillery, this bottle was distilled in the mid-1970’s, aged for 20 years and then bottled in 1996 at cask strength in limited numbers.

The Macallan Archival Series is inspired by adverts that ran between the 1970’s – 1990’s. Each Folio release is presented with an illustrated hardback book that delves into the history of the adverts, which were originally designed by David Holmes and advert copywriter Nick Salaman. Released in 2017, Folio 2 was the second instalment of the Archival Series, Sherry Cask matured and thought to be around 12 years old, with only 2,000 bottles ever released! The artwork on the label and presentation tin are the work of the artist Sara Midda – many of the works she produced were used in Macallan advertising promotions in the 1990’s to 2000’s.

Manager’s Drams have been made available to workers of the distilleries (in what is now the Diageo portfolio) for many years. Annually released from a single distillery, the manager is tasked to choose the finest casks from their distillery to produce this yearly malt which is then bottled at Cask strength and in limited numbers. This bottling was distilled at Blair Athol, aged 15 years and then bottled at cask strength in 1996.

These are only a few of the old, limited and collectable bottles featured in our December auction, to view more wee gems visit clickwhiskyauctions.com. Register to bid. Remember, you’ve got to be in it to win it! Auction ends Sunday 21st December from 8pm GMT.

Please note: Owing to the festive period, there may be a delay in shipping. Please take this into account before placing any bids.

Scotch Whisky Auctions ‘The 174th auction is now live!’ – Auction Whisky News

Welcome, willkommen and bienvenue one and all to our now live 174th auction!  We have a tremendous array of drams available this month, a bevy of beauties if you will, including a rather excellent ‘buy-it-now’ option.  With so much to choose from we thought we’d give you a leg up and highlight a few interesting bottles to get your watchlist moving.

Our first highlight is something you really won’t want to miss, particularly for collectors of Japanese whisky, this is the Hakushu ‘First Class’ for Moegi no Mura.  This vanishingly rare Hakushu was bottled in 2024 in collaboration with the nearby Moegi Village (Moegi no Mura) tourist complex, and is one of only 4 bottles made available for public sale!  Bottled at 51% this incredibly exclusive dram is a marriage of five Hakushu vintages from 1977, 1988, 1989, 1990 and 2006.  We are unlikely to see to see this up for sale again anytime soon so if this one catches your eye you might need to act fast.

Next up we have not one but two incredible bottles from a Speyside behemoth, the Glenfiddich 1958 Private Vintage Single Cask #8642 and Glenfiddich 1959 Private Vintage Single Cask #3934.  This really was the distillery that started the whole single malt boom and these two drams distilled at the tail end of the 1950’s are a terrific example of why this distillery is so revered. Both bottled in 2006 these are whiskies of the absolute highest quality with an understated elegance of design rarely matched in the whisky world.

Every month in our highlights there has to be the obligatory ‘bucket list drinker’, and this month that honour goes to this Springbank 1967 28 Year Old 75cl.  Pungent, oily and marvellously delicious older Springbanks have attained near mythical status among many serious whisky aficionados over the years.  Distilled in 1967 this rich-looking liquid then spent the best part of three decades ageing before being wrapped up in this classy and elegant little bottle you see before you.

And finally, we have a bottle of something special available as a ‘Buy-It-Now’ option this month, this is the Highland Park 20003 22 Year Old Integrity Malts.

Integrity Malts is an independent whisky bottler founded in 2024 by two whisky enthusiasts united by a shared obsession with authenticity, flavour, and honesty in whisky making.  They only release whisky that is non-chill filtered, bottled at natural cask strength, and without artificial colouring, just as nature intended!

This is a finely balanced dram, starts with a rich heavy punch of stone fruit which develops into a sweet caramel finish with just a slight hint of peat smoke.  We have 116 bottles available, so fill your boots. As always we have an enormous selection of drams to suit every budget on offer this month, so now is the time to delve into this month’s offerings and start building that watchlist.

Best of luck to everyone in the auction, and as always………..don’t lose your bottle.
