The Lost Distillery Co. Lossit
Part of the Classic Selection from The Lost Distillery Co., this marriage of 100% aged single malt Scotch whiskies aims to recreate the whisky of the now lost Lossit distillery of Islay. Operational from 1817-1867, Lossit was a farm distillery that became the biggest producer of whisky on Islay during the industry’s formative years. The nose has the characteristic peat along with pear and almond milk. The palate is elegant with a peat and pepper balance, before smoke flows to a long finish.
The Lost Distillery Co. Jericho
A superb blended malt Scotch whisky which seeks to reinterpret the whisky of the now lost Jericho distillery of Aberdeenshire. Operating from 1822-1913, including a name change to Benachie in its latter stages, the distillery was one of the first to adopt sherry casks for maturation. The nose offers fruitcake, tangerine and marzipan. The palate has notes of fresh coffee and soft wood spices, while the finish is rich in sweet spices.
The Lost Distillery Co. Gerston
This blended malt Scotch whisky aims to recreate the style of whisky from Caithness’ now lost distillery of Gerston in Halkirk. Operational from 1796-1882, Gerston was a favourite among such famous figures as the Duke of Wellington and Sir Robert Peel as well as enjoying export to Calcutta and Buenos Aires. The nose has sweet toffee and ripe fruits. The palate brings soft caramel with a salty note, before a whiff of smoke and lingering salt in the finish.
The Lost Distillery Co. Auchnagie
Auchnagie is a marriage of 100% aged single malt Scotch whiskies, recreating the signature malt of the now lost Auchnagie Highland distillery. One of several farm distilleries in the Ballinluig area of Perthshire during the 19th century, Auchnagie was founded in 1812 and had a varied existence until it was acquired by John Dewar & Son to form the heart of the Dewar’s blend. The nose is floral with honey and ceral notes. The palate is rich in dried fruit with peppery aspects, before a citrus influence in the sweet finish.
