The ImpEx Cask Evolution Series demonstrates the importance of quality casks in the development of a fantastic Scotch whisky. This inaugural cask was one of the last selected by John MacLellan, who had been Kilchoman’s distillery Manager and recently passed away after a long battle against cancer. As a humble tribute to his legacy, we’ve unofficially called this the MacLellan Cask.

01/2016 of the Series is an Oloroso Sherry Hogshead. During its maturation, the whisky has taken on the rich Oloroso sherry colour and character held within the cask. This intense spicy influence fuses beautifully with the peat smoke and citrus power of Kilchoman to create a truly unique sherry cask matured Islay Scotch Whisky.
