Distilling Sunshine 

Three mighty copper pot stills, Fionn, Oisin and Setanta, have started to distil on the Dundalk site.  These stills have a capacity to make 18 million bottles of whiskey a year.  They will make a full range of single malt, peated malt and pot still whiskeys.  This is the second distillery on the former Harp Brewery site.  The columns have been producing grain whiskey for the past month.  The total capacity of the two distilleries is 50 million bottles a year.

Both distilleries will supply “New Fill” to distillers in the rapidly growing Irish whiskey category as well as making whiskey for their own use.  Great Northern Distillery (GND) owns the famous “Burkes” and “Skylark” brands.

GND is owned by the Teeling family, Jim Finn and David Hynes.
