Nose: Freshly cut hay and floral aromas to the fore, with sweet fudge and a light milky cocoa notes following on. This is a light to medium dram with notes of sawn oak and extremely gentle spices and the merest hints of sweet pineapple. The high strength is not so apparent on the nose.
Palate: Light at first sip, firming up as the juicy fruits develop and tickle the tip of your tongue. A sweet and sour sensation plays with your taste buds when you add a couple of drops of water, initially sweet, then a briny, savoury blanket fills your palate before spiky fruity notes poke through and turn things around again into a sweet, tropical-fruity delight.
