Milroy’s of Soho August Newsletter – Scotch Whisky News

Milroy’s of Soho August Newsletter

A particularly exciting month for us here at Milroy’s of Soho with two of our favourite distilleries, Arran and Glendronach releasing new bottlings. Most excitingly though is the new Longmorn Sports Day Bottling, our newest bottling. Also available for pre-order are the latest peaty offerings from Bruichladdich. Be sure to follow our blog and read our thoughts and tasting notes and wisdom on these and other whiskies.

MILROY’S OF SOHO SINGLE CASK BOTTLING

Longmorn 1999, Aged 13 Years
Launched to coincide with the Olympics this is a splendid refreshing summer dram. Top tip from Milroy’s of Soho staff: try it chilled down or even frozen. £35

BALVENIE TUN 1401 – Batch 5/ 50.1% ABV
Created to celebrate Malt Master David Stewarts 50th Anniversary in the whisky industry, the latest batch offers incredible value for money when considering the average age of this whisky is 39 years old! Be quick – The Balvenie 30 year old is over £300 so this is being snapped up.

Nose – Typical Balvenie, honey and spice with incredible sweet vanilla and lively blood orange. Water really opens up the nose and sherry casks really start to show their quality.
Palate – More honey, vanilla and fruity sherry note, develops with dark chocolate, cinnamon and dark fruit flavours. Incredibly good!
Finish – Lingers for minutes with the rich honey notes.

£175 per bottle (only 12 bottles available, one bottle per customer).
