Douglas Laing New Provenance Range Bottlings For April, 2011 – Scotch Whisky News

provenance-range-300x197

Dear Customer

Running into April we are pleased to offer you additional four (4) new bottlings under the PROVENANCE label.

Tasting Notes follow:

PRV0692 MACDUFF SHERRY MATURED 10 YEAR OLD

The nose opens with a honeyed sweet cereal quality reminiscent of toffee popcorn. The palate is round, sweetly spiced and carries a brandy snaps character. The finish is medium long with a caramelised fruit style. (J)

PRV0698 HIGHLAND PARK 11 YEAR OLD

Initially it is distinctly round and fruity on the nose – warming to clean, fresh, ozone and light maltiness. The palate is still sweet – this time in a peated style – very distinctly with a maritime character – all leading to a still phenolic, lightly tarred, warmingly spiced finish. (F)

PRV0693 JURA 11 YEAR OLD

Sweetly homebaked with a real malty content on the nose , it runs to something drier and a little earthier. Palatewise it is initially round with a little citric tang which runs again to an old fashioned kitchen – baking character (and unusually marmalade has been spread onto the scones!) The finish tends more to the sweet barley malt connotation initially running drier as it fades. (F)

PRV0697 MACALLAN 12 YEAR OLD

The nose is fresh and clean, carrying a sugary sweet style with a fruit syrup (pineapple) character. The palate opens with a sweet, fruity (now pears & peaches) rich quality and runs to hard candy. The finish remains sweet throughout with now a grapefruit drier tang. (J)

We hope some of these will hit the right tone to be considered by you after your review.

Yours faithfully
