Both are rye whiskies, but they are aged in different casks, with one being a rye whisky fully matured in a type of cask for the first time ever!
Introducing Our New Rye Whisky Releases:
Double Oak Rye: Rum Cask Edition (46% abv.)
Experience the unique fusion of spice and sweetness with our Double Oak Rye Whisky Rum Cask Edition. This whisky blends the robust character of rye with the tropical richness imparted by rum cask aging, resulting in a smooth and complex drinking experience. Crafted from a mash bill of 100% rye grain, this whisky begins its aging process in a combination of American oak and Cowichan red wine casks, followed by a final maturation in Barbados rum casks. This unique finishing stage adds a sweet, rich depth to the whisky. The aroma greets you with warm vanilla and toasted oak, complemented by hints of tropical fruits and subtle notes of caramel and molasses. On the palate, spicy rye intertwines with creamy toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ripe banana, creating an intricate flavor profile. The finish is long and warm, with lingering notes of oak and dark chocolate.
Whether you prefer it neat or with a splash of water, our Rum Cask Finished Rye Whisky is also perfect in classic cocktails like an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. Ideal for both connoisseurs and newcomers, this whisky offers a sophisticated blend of tradition and innovation in every sip.
Islay Cask Rye Whisky (50% abv.)
Aged entirely in an ex-Islay Scotch Whisky cask, this whisky offers a unique fusion of spicy rye and smoky Islay character. The aroma greets you with smoky peat, spicy rye, and a hint of sea salt. On the palate, enjoy a balance of herbal rye, smoky maritime notes, and subtle brine, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The finish is long, with lingering smokiness, spicy notes, and a touch of sweetness. This whisky is ideal for those who appreciate bold rye flavors and the distinctive character of Islay Scotch. As for where the cask came from, if you guessed the oldest distillery on Islay, we’d ‘beg to differ!
