DISTILLERY FOCUS: Arran – Aberdeen Whisky Shop News

DISTILLERY FOCUS: Arran

Arran Distillery, nestled on the outskirts of Lochranza Village, is well known for its fruity, smooth malts, which have notes of citrus and creamy cereal. Unlike many distilleries located on the West coast of Scotland, Arran does not use peat.

Little Bit Of History

Isle of Arran has a rich history of distillation, both legal and the not so government approved. The construction of the Arran distillery commenced in December 1994, a staggering 154 years since the closure of the last legal distillery on the island. The first distillation took place in June of the following year, and since then, they have built an incredible core range and an amazing portfolio of limited malts.
