Glendronach 25 Year Old Grandeur Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Batch #008 matured in Oloroso sherry butts. Limited release of 1,505 numbered bottles. A torrent of rich sherry aromas flow over sour plums and dried prunes. A delightful contribution of ginger bread and cracked black pepper add a gentle warmth. Dark chocolate with a touch of marzipan rounds the nose and adds contrasting hints of sweetness through the robust vintage character. An opulent, vintage sherry style combining a medley of dark espresso, Mediterranean fruits, rich molasses and a hint of herbal bitters. An earthy, aged oak character of air cured tobacco leaves a leathery dryness, adding great depth and texture to the palate, contributing to the unique, full-bodied Highland style. After a quarter of a century peacefully lying in our traditional dunnage warehouses, the combination of casks selected by Master Blender Billy Walker have come to encapsulate the rich history and heritage of GlenDronach as the sherry casks connoisseurs.

Glendronach Malt Whisky Distillery was established north east of Huntley in the Highland whisky region by James Allardice in 1826. The malting floors at Glendronach Distillery closed in 1996 and it was the last distillery in Scotland to heat its stills directly with flames from a coal-fired furnace, until it had to comply with new regulations in 2005. Glendronach Distillery is resplendent with a traditional cask iron mash tun, wooden washbacks, four stills. Famous for its well-aged and top quality sherried single malt, for example Glendronach 21 Year Old Parliament, and single cask releases. The distillery is now owned by Brown Forman of America.
