Wild Turkey Tasting at the Whisky Exchange Jan 31st, 2024 – American Whiskey News
Join us this January to discover one of America’s leading whiskies, Wild Turkey, with their associate distiller Bruce Russell. One of the areas that has been most exciting to see develop at Wild Turkey has been their range of Russell’s Reserve and the Generations releases, both of which have not been released in the UK and are highlights in the lineup for this tasting.
Wild Turkey

Beloved of whiskey lovers as varied as Hunter S. Thompson and Matthew McConaughey, Wild Turkey is one of the biggest producers state side. Their mashbill is noted for a high proportion of rye that makes for a particularly flavoursome bourbon.

Meet the Maker: Wild Turkey’s Bruce Russell
On 31 January Wild Turkey’s Bruce Russell will be hosting a Meet the Maker tasting at our Great Portland shop to celebrate these brilliant drinks. A great way to discover more about this incredible distillery and the dynasty behind it, Bruce is bringing some particularly special drams for this tasting.

Rare US Exclusives
The Russell’s Reserve 10 Year Old was released exclusively in the United States as a small batch bourbon that shows rare depth and complexity. Alongside it, the Generations release represents a collaboration across the three Russells to create a whiskey that reflects their own personalities and styles. These whiskies have not been released in the UK and this represents a rare chance to try them, guided by the distiller.

Bruce Russell and The Russell Dynasty
Part of the legendary Russell distilling family, Bruce is the fourth generation to join the whiskey industry with with his father Eddie and grandfather Jimmy both icons of whiskey in their own right. Bruce joined Wild Turkey as an apprentice in 2014 and since then has worked his way around the different areas of the distillery, learning the science of whiskey making and the art of bourbon.
