Dailuaine 16 Year Old at Loch Fyne Whiskies – Scotch Whisky News
August 13th, 2021

Given that 98% of the liquid from Dailuaine contributes to blends such as Johnnie Walker, it is no wonder that this one is a wee bit of a hidden gem; adored and kept quiet by those that get familiar with it. A 16-year-old single malt at 43% abv for under 50 quid? Sounds good to me!
Nose: Clean with sweet barley sugars and sherry notes.
Palate: Clean and malty with big syrupy notes, just a hint of smoke.
Finish: Medium, dry and oaky with a faint touch of smoke.
Dailuaine derives from the Gaelic ‘Green Vale’. It is a key contributor to blended whiskies as it’s appreciated for its rich and robust quality. This expression is part of the Flora & Fauna range from Diageo.
