Situated on the northern coast of Islay, Caol Ila is a favourite. It combines the powerful smoke of the island with a welcoming and very characterful sweet creaminess.  What makes this Distiller’s Edition slightly different: an extra few months in Moscatel wine casks, making that creaminess ever more indulgent and allowing the sweetness to be more balanced with the smoke. Avoiding the herbal route that Islay whiskies can usually wander down, this is elegant, bold and has a sweetness that is approachable for those who both love and are perhaps avoidant of Islay whiskies most of the time
