Glen Elgin 2012 – The Ghost Train of Dunphail

A firm favourite amongst the team at Lady of the Glen, Glen Elgin never fails to deliver. This idiosyncratic single malt known for its fruity and complex character lends itself well to secondary cask maturation. In this case we have a 6 year finish in a fine ex-tawny port barrique from Josafer near the city of Porto.

The tasting revealed Turkish delight, walnuts, baked apple and a subtle meaty note of Parma ham. A long finish offers lively spices, blueberries and honeyed oak.
