Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 615: Dailuaine 21 Year Old Diageo Special Releases 2025

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries a richly sherried Speysider. Dailuaine is located in the heart of Speyside. When it was founded in 1853, it was the first distillery to feature the characteristic pagoda roof above the kiln. Unfortunately, that historic feature was lost in a fire in 1917. Only 2% of the whisky produced is bottled as single malt, while the rest disappears into blends, with Johnnie Walker as the main customer. For the 2025 Special Releases, Diageo launched a 21-year-old Dailuaine that matured in former sherry casks.
