Compass Box ‘Introducing: This is a 10-Year-Old Whisky’ – Scotch Whisky News

We don’t do age statements, unless we’re making a statement.

Under Scotch rules, a blend can only show the age of its youngest whisky. So even if it contains 10, 15 and 20-year-old whiskies, the label can only say 10.

At Compass Box, we want to be transparent. We always tell you everything about what’s in your whisky.

Ten years ago, we got in trouble with the rule-makers for telling drinkers the full story. Since then, we’ve advocated for the freedom to share every component’s age. Not because age is everything, but because you deserve to know what’s in your glass. Under the current rules, there’s only one way to show the ages of the whiskies in a blend: make every whisky the same age.

So we did.

This Is A 10-Year-Old Whisky. The youngest whisky is ten. The oldest is ten. For once, the label tells you everything. Totally transparent, and seriously delicious.
