Treat Someone To Something Special This Christmas – Scotch Whisky News

The Last Drops

That’s a subtle way of saying there’s hardly any left…

The Last Drops

We like to think every whisky we bottle is something special. By that we mean it’s been hand-selected, there’s something we really like about it and we feel we’re bottling it at the perfect moment. But all good things must come to an end and for three of our recent premium releases we’re down to only a few bottles left. We can’t make anymore of these, the casks have been emptied, so if you miss out don’t say we didn’t tell you.

LIMITED NUMBERS AVAILABLE

As ever at Little Brown Dog we are only able to bottle a small number of each of our releases. We choose them carefully, each one is a spirit we’d drink ourselves, each one is different, there’s something special about it, that’s why we chose it. We like nothing better than talking about whisky and answering any questions you might have, so find us on social media. All of our available releases are on our website too.

Cotswolds Distillery ‘Celebrating Our Biodiversity Win!’ 🌿 – English Whisky News

Biodiversity Achievement of the Year Award

We’re delighted to share that we have been awarded Biodiversity Achievement of the Year at the Global Drinks Intel ESG Awards 2025.

This recognition celebrates the success of our Wetlands Ecological Treatment System first championed by our Founder, Daniel Szor and lovingly cared for by our Head of Production, Alice Pearson and her incredible team. What began as a practical solution made possible by Berry Brothers & Rudd and Rachel White Designs has evolved into something truly special: a living landscape of wildflower meadows, native hedgerows and wetlands now home to bats, owls, herons and pollinators alike.

It’s a reminder that craft and care go hand in hand, and that protecting our place in the world can be as rewarding as making what’s in the glass.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 584: Blue Hanger 11th Limited Release – Scotch Whisky News

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 584: Blue Hanger 11th Limited Release

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries the final Blue Hanger release. Blue Hanger is a blended malt from Berry Bros & Rudd, and this 11th release is also the last. It was named after William Hanger, Lord Coleraine, one of BB&R’s regular customers at the end of the 18th century, who always wore a blue suit. This 11th edition is a combination of 8 casks: 4 hogsheads, 3 sherry butts, and 1 puncheon and contains both peated and unpeated Bunnahabhain, Glengoyne, Ardmore, Tamdhu, Glenturret, and Dailuaine. The blender in charge was Jonny McMillian, who has since taken the step to distilling himself, as he is one of the three founders (along with Angus MacRaild and Aaron Chan) of the Kythe Distillery.

Royal Salute Unveils The Third And Final Edition In Its Majestic Kingdom Collection With A New 26 Year Old Colheita Port Cask Finish

London, UK, – Royal Salute, the master of exceptionally aged Scotch whisky, proudly announces the third and final limited edition in its prestigious Kingdom Collection: the Royal Salute 26 Year Old Colheita Port Cask Finish

This new expression is the first of Royal Salute’s entire portfolio to be finished in a Port Cask. It invites whisky connoisseurs on a sensory voyage, celebrating Royal Salute’s regal heritage and drawing inspiration from the majestic former Kingdom of Portugal. Rooted in the tradition that began with the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 when the brand was founded, the Royal Salute 26 Year Old Colheita Port Cask Finish is a testament to timeless craftsmanship and a tribute to Portugal’s glorious history, breathtaking architecture, and vibrant culture.

At the heart of this new masterpiece lies its unique maturation. A bespoke blend, fully finished in exceptional ex-Colheita Port casks. These casks have been carefully selected from a renowned Portuguese winery in the Douro Valley, that offers an intricate and profoundly indulgent flavour profile. Royal Salute Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop has meticulously balanced the sweet, dried fruit, and nutty finesse imparted by these casks, resulting in a distinctive sweet berry and spicy character.

Beyond the precious whisky, the Royal Salute 26 Year Old Colheita Port Cask Finish is presented in an exquisite, rich, and vibrant cobalt flagon. Its design is a visual homage to Portugal’s famed azulejo facades, with hues depicting the rippling Douro River and the vast Atlantic Ocean, making it a true collector’s piece.

Speaking of the new blend, Royal Salute Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop commented: “The Royal Salute 26 Year Old Colheita Port Cask Finish is more than just a whisky, it’s an experience crafted for those who appreciate the finest things in life. Colheita Ports are made exclusively from grapes harvested in a single vintage year, which brings a unique delicacy to the flavour profile of the Royal Salute blend. This expression embodies our commitment to exceptional aging and innovative finishing, offering a taste of Portugal’s rich heritage in every sip. This expression is a perfect addition for the discerning collector and connoisseur seeking unparalleled depth and character.”

The Royal Salute 26 Year Old Colheita Port Cask Finish is the third and final edition in the collection, which comprises of the 26 Year Old Scottish Oak Cask Finish and the 26 Year Old Amarone Wine Cask Finish.
