LOST LANTERN LAUNCHES SUMMER 2025 ESTATE DISTILLERY COLLECTION

Celebrating the Rise of Farm Distilleries in America

Vergennes, VT (June 3, 2025) — Lost Lantern, the award-winning independent bottler of American whiskey, is proud to announce its Summer 2025 Collection, celebrating the rise of estate distilleries, one of the most exciting trends in American whiskey today.

Estate distilleries—those that make whiskey using grain grown entirely on their own land—make spirits with a true sense of place, shaped by the climate, the land, and the people who steward it. While estate wineries have long been celebrated in the wine world, true estate distilleries were almost unheard of until recently. Out of more than 3,000 distilleries in the United States, only a small handful grow their own grain. Lost Lantern’s new collection fêtes four that do: Frey Ranch (NV), Corbin Cash (CA), and new partners Whiskey Acres (IL) and Far North Spirits (MN).

“Though they come from different corners of the country and vastly different climates, these distilleries share a common ethos: crafting whiskies that truly reflect the land, while also prioritizing its stewardship,” explains Lost Lantern Co-Founder Nora Ganley-Roper.

“It’s no surprise that all are four are founded and owned by multi-generational farming families who’ve worked their land for a century or more,” adds Co-Founder Adam Polonski. “Now they have found a new way to share the bounty of their land with whiskey lovers across the country.”

Rooted in that heritage and commitment to place, Lost Lantern’s Summer Collection also introduces two new estate blends, called Farmers’ Fields Bourbon and Farmers’ Fields Rye. These limited-edition blends are unique to the Collection and feature Lost Lantern’s signature navy label, denoting a multi-distillery blend, along with a color-coded strip over the closure: red for bourbon, green for rye.

The collection will be available starting Wednesday, June 25th via LostLanternWhiskey.com, Seelbachs.com, select retailers in CA, NY, MA, RI, and at the Lost Lantern Tasting Room in Vergennes, VT. All releases are non-chill-filtered, bottled at cask strength, and have no added color.

Ardnamurchan “Single Barrel #75” K&L Exclusive Cask Strength Highland Single Malt ~ Scotch Whisky News

Ardnamurchan “Single Barrel #75″ K&L Exclusive Cask Strength Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) $129.99 View

The spectacular Ardnamurchan distillery on the far western coast of Scotland is without a doubt one of the top new distillers in Scotland. Owned by Adelphi Distillers Ltd, the famous bottler of high quality single cask single malt, they’ve spared no expense at creating the most sustainable distillery, achieving 2024 ‘Global Sustainable Distillery of the Year’ in the Whisky Magazine’s Icon’s of Whisky awards. This single cask of cask strength single malt was filled into a fresh ex-Old Forester bourbon barrel with Ardnamurchan’s unpeated malt on February 24th, 2017 and bottled at full cask strength on March 19th, 2025, more than 8 years later despite the 7 year age statement. Distilled from Concerto malt sourced from Broomhall farm. The distillery records and makes public every detail of the process and your bottle includes a QR code linking you to that information. This is the very first Ardnamurchan single cask ever bottled for a retailer in the USA.

Ardnamurchan distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery on the Ardnamurchan peninsula of Lochaber in the Highlands, Scotland. The distillery is considered one of the remotest distilleries in Scotland and takes its name from the peninsula. The distillery was built and is owned by Adelphi, an independent bottling company. Plans for the distillery were submitted in 2011 and approved by the local council in April 2012. The construction began in 2013 and the distillery was completed in May 2014.

Ardnamurchan commenced production in 2014. The first official whisky of the distillery (meeting the 3-year statutory requirements) was released in 2017. In 2018, local children were given a charitable gift of Ardnamurchan whisky casks as an investment. As of 2020, the distillery had filled over 10,000 casks.

The distillery is powered by renewable energy to reduce the carbon footprint of the distillery. It is powered by both hydro-electric power and a large bio-mass boiler using timber from the nearby Ardnamurchan forest. The boiler provides heat to the distillery floor maltings. The distillery draws the water for its whisky production from springs above the distillery and uses the nearby Glenmore river as a source for cooling water.

The distillery produces two styles, peated and unpeated West Highland whiskies.

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 565: Spey 18 Year Old – Scotch Whisky News

Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 565: Spey 18 Year Old

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries the Spey 18 Year Old. In early 2025, Mark took up a new role at ING, his employer since 2000. At the end of 2024, he said goodbye to a fantastic team he had worked with for over 3 years. During his farewell drink, he received this bottle as a gift. What a fantastic present! It had been a decade since Mark last tasted this. That was a 2014 bottling. This is a slightly more recent release, from 2015, and thus a 1997 vintage. By the way, the distillery is in the process of moving from its current location to Laggan, near the dam of the same name.

Bourbon Tourism Growth Continues – American Whiskey News

Bourbon Tourism Growth Continues

Kentucky Bourbon Trail® Adventure Celebrates

Record-Breaking Year

FRANKFORT, KY. — The world-famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail® tour welcomed a record 2.7 million visitors in 2024 as it celebrated its 25th anniversary with an award-winning rebranding campaign and innovative digital tools to make it easier to plan the bucket-list adventure.

Visitors from all 50 states and more than 20 countries across six continents poured into the Bluegrass State last year, up from 2.5 million tourists in 2023 – the third straight year topping the two million mark.

More than 20 million people have now visited a Bourbon Trail™ distillery in the last 25 years.

“The combination of American history, picturesque scenery and legendary Kentucky hospitality continues to attract people from all over the world to get a deeper look into what makes our Bourbon family so special,” said Eric Gregory, president of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association.

The KDA created the Bourbon Trail™ tour in 1999 to give visitors an intimate, behind-the-scenes look into crafting America’s only native spirit. At that time, there were only seven distilleries in Kentucky to visit – something that could be accomplished in a long weekend.

Now, with 60 participating distilleries in all corners of the Commonwealth and more on the way, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® program encourages guests to slow down, relax, savor the journey and come back for another round.

“Our Bourbon Trail™ distillers – from the largest to the smallest – continue to create new ways for visitors to experience our mellow, amber nectar,” Gregory said. “There’s more to do, see, and taste than ever before.”

It’s easier to plan than ever before, too.

As part of its 25th anniversary rebrand, the KDA created a bold new look and feel for the tour, including a website and new digital tools that makes it easier for visitors to plan their trip and “Build Your Own Bourbon Trail®” based on their individual preferences and interests.

Kentucky Bourbon Trail® communities and partners continue to welcome guests with new restaurants, hotels, bars and more, reaping benefits from an affluent demographic that trends younger, stays longer and has more disposable income than an average Kentucky tourist.

  • 62% of Kentucky Bourbon Trail® visitors have incomes above $100,000
  • 76% of visitors are from outside of Kentucky
  • Most visitors stay three to five days in communities featuring a Bourbon Trail™ distillery
  • Visitors spend between $600 – $1,400 during their trip on dining, entertainment, lodging and transportation

Historically, KBT® visitors have come from states within a six-hour drive from Kentucky. But last year, Bourbon Trail™ distilleries saw a surge of visitors from states outside that drive time, including California, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, New York, and Pennsylvania.

The Kentucky Bourbon Trail® pilgrimage is also catching global attention.

Hotel News Now reports that while beachfront properties will be busy in 2025, people are starting to venture to different locations off the beaten path, like “new areas of wine country or the Bourbon Trail.”

The reimagined Bourbon Trail™ web campaign also has been recognized with a slew of prestigious awards, most recently earning top honors for its digital experience at the 2025 World Icons of Whisky Awards in London, England.

Kentucky Bourbon Trail® partners provide additional experiences and resources to help people round out their trip: Eat & DrinkStayTransportationShoppingNon-Bourbon Experiences.

Visit www.kybourbon.com for more information about the KDA and how Bourbon drives Kentucky’s economy and tourism.

“The Kentucky Bourbon Trail knows no limits in its popularity, and I can’t wait to see where it goes in our next 25 years,” Gregory said. “The possibilities are endless, and we look forward to welcoming millions more to enjoy it – responsibly, of course.”

Embrace The Spirit Of Rio And A Harmony Of Flavours With The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Rio De Janeiro Polo Edition – Scotch Whisky News

Embrace The Spirit Of Rio And A Harmony Of Flavours With The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Rio De Janeiro Polo Edition

Royal Salute, the master of exceptionally aged Scotch whisky, invites whisky lovers and cultural vultures alike to embrace the spirit of Rio de Janeiro with the latest addition in its iconic Polo Collection; the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Rio de Janeiro Polo Edition.

Born from a unique legacy, Royal Salute’s enduring affinity with polo is the inspiration at the heart of this contemporary collection of limited-edition whiskies. The 21 Year Old Rio de Janeiro Polo Edition, the seventh in the series, captures the vibrant soul of Rio de Janeiro, the undisputed capital of Brazilian polo. Here, amidst the fields of Helvetia and the energy of Rio’s streets, the sport thrives with an unparalleled passion, echoing the exhilarating blend of skill, honour, and grace shared by both polo and Royal Salute’s exceptional whiskies.

As a tribute to this emblematic location, Royal Salute’s Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop, expertly crafted the bespoke 21 Year Old Blended Malt whisky with a rich, fruity flavour that echoes Rio’s famously dynamic culture. A portion of this complex blend includes precious whiskies from Braeval Distillery matured in first-fill casks, offering fresh floral and grassy notes, reminiscent of Rio’s lush green landscape. Working harmoniously with other malt whiskies aged in American Oak casks, which bring sweet and creamy vanilla and coconut notes, the resulting blend is superbly smooth.

Commenting on the latest release, Sandy Hyslop said: “Coming alive with the creamy sweetness of vanilla and coconut, the fruity notes in this blended malt whisky are like an intricate dance – much like the Bossa Nova performed on a warm Brazilian evening. To make a blend as special as its inspiration, we incorporated Braeval whisky matured in first-fill casks. This has not only allowed us to give it a new dimension, but it also resulted in a taste experience as captivating and multi-layered as Rio itself, a true representation of the city’s irresistible charm.”

Capturing the energy of Rio de Janeiro, the exquisite 21 Year Old Rio de Janeiro Polo Edition is presented in a vivid green flagon, echoing the city’s breathtaking green landscapes, elevated with luxurious golden accents as a nod to the iconic Brazilian flag. This exceptional whisky is protected within a beautiful presentation box, showcasing Rio’s dramatic cityscape juxtaposed against its stunning natural beauty.

Royal Salute World Polo Ambassador, Malcolm Borwick, comments: “The popularity of polo in Brazil is at an all-time high, which along with the stunning landscapes and dynamic energy, is somewhere I’ve always really loved to play and spend time. The city’s cultural energy is electric, and so it’s a fitting destination to honour within the Royal Salute Polo Collection. I look forward to savouring this new blend after my next polo match there.”

A. D. Rattray Cask Collection No 76 – Scotch Whisky News

Cask Collection No.76

In today’s whisky landscape, the spotlight often falls on the extremes—intensely peated malts, heavily sherried drams, and bold, unconventional cask finishes. While these styles offer vivid and memorable experiences, they can at times overshadow the quieter artistry of balance and subtlety in whisky-making.

Scotch whisky’s true strength lies in its diversity, and while there is much to celebrate in the breadth of flavour available, there is a risk that more restrained, harmoniously composed profiles are overlooked in favour of the loudest voices in the room.

In an industry constantly striving to define, categorise, and guide, the most remarkable whiskies often resist such neat classification. They weave together elements from across the flavour spectrum—cereal and fruit, earth and oak—with coherence and grace.

A.D. Rattray’s 76th Cask Collection brings together five such casks: complex, expressive whiskies that reveal their depth through balance rather than dominance. As our second release of the year, this summer-leaning selection has been curated to offer an elegant, nuanced tasting experience—where structure, character, and subtle evolution in the glass take centre stage.

In a world drawn to intensity, Cask Collection 76 invites a moment of reflection—to appreciate the quiet beauty of well-judged maturation and the complexity that emerges when bold and delicate flavours are held in equilibrium.
