American single malt whiskey is on the rise. The variety of styles within this category comes from the ability to experiment – distillers aren’t bound by a specific type of still, cask, or minimum age requirement – unlike in other whisky-producing countries.
Distilleries like Copperworks, named our New Wave Whisky of the Year for 2025, are leading the charge, bringing a brewer’s mindset to their whiskies with flavours ranging from peach iced tea, fresh raspberries and chocolate chip cookies.
