It’s fair to say that Ardnamurchan has very much conquered my heart, my whisky heart anyway.

I’m not a Sauternes cask kind of guy, but if they release it, I’ll buy it.

Matured in refill American oak casks that have previously held Sauternes Wine – this liquid is soaked on apricots, marzipan, fresh melon, and some biting coastal salt and pepper.

I do like this. It is fun. It may not have fully won me over to the side of Sauternes, but it’s the nicest example of the cask type that I’ve experienced.

‘Evan Williams Bourbon Nation’ platform aims to enhance the game day experience for collegiate sports fans around the country in a multi-year deal beginning this fall

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Evan Williams Bourbon today announced a new partnership with Learfield, the media and technology company with ties to more than 1,200 of the nation’s top collegiate properties across its enterprise, for a multiple-year deal beginning this August.  As part of this sponsorship, Evan Williams will be one of the first Bourbons to partner with some of our nation’s top college athletic programs, including University of Florida, Syracuse University, TCU, Ohio State University and University of Alabama. Fans cheering from the stands, kicking back at a tailgate, or coaching from their couch can join ‘Evan Williams Bourbon Nation’ to celebrate their team now that Kentucky’s 1st Distiller is becoming Game Day’s #1 Pour.

The partnership will be activated through in-stadium signage, branded bar spaces, and tailgate activations at the five select schools, while also being promoted through local and regional media, in store and on-premise beginning with the 2024 NCAA football season.

Douglas Laing & Co. proudly announces the release of The Epicurean Calvados Limited Edition, a unique blend that marries the floral Lowland Malts of Scotland with the orchard notes of Calvados from the Normandy region, Northern France. This exclusive release, limited to just 1,800 bottles worldwide, is said to be a “celebration of tradition, innovation, and unparalleled craftsmanship.”

At 48% ABV, the Calvados influence is said to help “elevate The Epicurean’s already fresh, vibrant, and citrusy flavour profile to new heights”. Isle of Harris Distillery Introducing Blair Sterrick – Scotch Whisky News

Time to introduce you to another member of our team, Blair Sterrick. Born in Glasgow and raised in Ayr, Blair began his career in hospitality, managing bars before transitioning to sales in 2008.

His career includes 9 years at Diageo, followed by roles at Halewood Wines and Spirits, Dunns Food and Drinks, and Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. We were thrilled to welcome him to the Isle of Harris Distillery team in August 2023 as our UK Market Manager.

Within his role, Blair oversees all aspects of UK commercial, customer care, business from trade customers and our online website, and also our tour and shop team at the distillery in Tarbert.

When asked what his favourite thing about working as part of the distillery team is, Blair told us…

“When I first started, people mentioned the ‘Hebridean hospitality’, and that is so true, I was made to feel so welcome from day one. A true testament of our ethos, there is no split between our small mainland team and the team based at the distillery in Harris.”
