Yellowstone “K&L Exclusive – The Perfect Proof” Single Barrel #12065 ~ Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey News

Yellowstone “K&L Exclusive – The Perfect Proof” Single Barrel #12065 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ml) $59.99 View

Our first visit to Yellowstone’s distillery was one of our most memorable appointments from our May 2023 Kentucky tour. Steve Fontaine, the host of our visit, is one of the biggest characters in the wide world of whisky, and an afternoon spent tasting with him is an outrageously hysterical way to spend a few hours. The tasting itself is also one of the most unique in Kentucky. It is not only a barrel selection, but a proof trial. While many purists will argue that all single barrel programs should just be bottled at cask strength, the fact is, very few distilleries actually offer that option. Most lock you into a specific proof with your barrel. The end result: even if you’re tasting freshly pulled barrel samples, you’re not tasting the final product the way your customers will taste it. Yellowstone, really lets you dial it in – a tasting of four different barrels at three different proofs, partially blind (with respect to the barrels, but you taste in proof groups), ensures you get the best tasting option, not just the barrel with the craziest specs. With DOG, AW, and Blakely at the table making the selection, and remarkably, a consensus between the three on which barrel and which proof was the finest in the lot, we’re pretty damn sure you’re going to love this whisky.

Evan Williams Bourbon Experience Celebrates 10 “Neat” Years on Whiskey Row with Limited Release Bottle

Evan Williams Bourbon Experience Celebrates 10 “Neat” Years on Whiskey Row with Limited Release Bottle

Louisville’s original distillery to mark the occasion with new release and free block party

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (November 17, 2023) – In honor of its 10th Anniversary on Louisville’s famed Whiskey Row, the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience today announced the release of its commemorative edition of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon. The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience first opened its doors to the public on November 15, 2013, and has immersed nearly one million guests from around the world in the legacy of Evan Williams, Kentucky’s first Distiller.

This 2013 vintage is bottled at 110 proof, commemorating the 10th Anniversary. This unique bottle is hand dipped in silver wax and features imagery of the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience on its specially designed label and tag. Each bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon includes handwritten label notes detailing the exact day it was put in an oak barrel to age, the barrel number, and the date it was bottled.

“We are proud to be one of the leaders in returning Whiskey Row to its original glory in the heart of downtown Louisville,” said Jodie Filiatreau, Artisanal Distiller at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience. “This commemorative bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage is a completely unique offering fitting of such a momentous occasion.”

This edition is comprised of 10-year-old Bourbon that was barreled in August, October, or December of 2013. The barrels were aged on the second floor of Rickhouse LL at the Schenley location. The mashbill for this edition is comprised of Heaven Hill Distillery’s traditional Bourbon Mashbill comprised of 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye.

Beginning Saturday, November 18, the limited-edition Bourbon will be available for purchase at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience for $109.99 and at select area retailers while supplies last. The public is also invited to celebrate the anniversary with an open house featuring tours and tastings at the Experience along with a block party held down the street at Repurposed on Main (615 W. Main St.) from 12:00-4:00PM.

The Bourbon is matured in Heaven Hill’s rickhouses under the careful supervision of Master Distiller Conor O’ Driscoll, who monitors the progress of each year’s vintage to ensure it maintains its intended flavor profile and superb quality. Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon has won five “Whiskey of the Year” awards and is one of the most critically acclaimed specialty Bourbons produced by Heaven Hill Distillery, the world’s second largest holder of aging Bourbon.

ABOUT THE EVAN WILLIAMS BOURBON EXPERIENCE:

The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience® (www.EvanWilliamsBourbonExperience.com) celebrates the legacy of Evan Williams, Kentucky’s first commercial distiller, through an immersive visitor’s center experience which brings to life the history and tradition of Kentucky’s native spirit. Crypto Collaboration for Belfast Whiskey – Irish Whiskey News

Crypto Collaboration for Belfast Whiskey

Titanic Distillers and Caskcoin offer a unique whiskey opportunity

BELFAST’S newest tourist attraction, and the city’s first working whiskey distillery in almost 90 years, has today announced its partnership with Caskcoin Belfast and creation of the 401 ClubX.

Drinks company Titanic Distillers has invested almost £8 million to convert the historic Titanic Pumphouse, in the heart of Belfast’s Titanic Quarter, into a new distillery and visitor centre, giving guests a chance to explore the site where Titanic last rested on dry ground, before her maiden voyage.

A listed building, the Pumphouse, and neighbouring Thompson Dry Dock, first opened in 1911 to service and accommodate the massive White Star transatlantic liners Olympic and Titanic.

Now, 112 years later, visitors can experience the workings of the new distillery and hear the story of Belfast’s whiskey tradition, why it disappeared and how it has now returned at the Pumphouse, the new home of Titanic Distillers.

However, the Belfast based distillery isn’t trapped in the past, as they have today announced a new partnership with Caskcoin Belfast to launch a unique whiskey opportunity utilising crypto tokens as proof of ownership, propelling the brand into the future of investments.

Named after the yard number allocated to Titanic by The White Star Line, 401 ClubX is offering consumers the opportunity to be part of the future of Titanic Distillers and Belfast’s new whiskey heritage, creating a community of like-minded individuals with a shared passion for whiskey and its provenance.

Each year, 3,333 cases will be offered for pre-purchase at a fixed price of £600/$750 per case of 6x70cl bottles.  Those who have pre-purchased cases will then be given priority to pre-purchase the following year, allowing them to complete the collection.

401 ClubX will utilise crypto tokens as proof of ownership, enabling members to procure whiskey from Titanic Distillers and partner, Caskcoin Belfast.

Members will also have early access to the latest news, releases, and events from Titanic Distillers, as well as a host of benefits:

  • Forward purchase the first cases of 5-Year-Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey spirit produced by Titanic Distillers, will be exclusively available to purchase by 401 Club X members.
  • Limited edition bottles and labels
  • Exclusive invites to bespoke events
  • Early access to distillery reserves and special edition bottles
  • Discounts off online and distillery purchases

The Spirit of Toronto 2023 Holiday Edition – Holiday Whisky News

Introducing the Spirit of Toronto 2023 Holiday Edition

Never say never: it was difficult to imagine yet another slate of virtual tastings after our last one in the fall of 2022, given the logistics of producing such a comprehensive series of at-home masterclasses.

While we appreciate the convenience it offered, the time and effort involved was immense, and coordinating so many schedules across different time zones was challenging. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed connecting with whiskymakers and whisky fans beyond the live show, so we went back to the drawing board to find a new way for people to bring Spirit of Toronto home.

I believe we’ve succeeded, but ultimately you’ll be the judge:

Our workaround for 2023 has been to double the number of samples on offer while making half as many tasting kits, and then pre-recording the tutored tastings between our team and the participating distillers and blenders who generously made time to talk and taste with us. We had fun filming these sessions, and somehow managed to fit in a cocktail, a blind tasting, and a food pairing for the epicureans among you.

These will be archived on our website for the next 365 days, giving tasters a chance to sit in on an exchange between our team of whisky lovers and the people who make the whiskies that make us smile.

Packaged in a gorgeous, handmade wooden giftbox, the result is the Spirit of Toronto Holiday Edition, which we’ve lovingly nicknamed “Spirit-of-Toronto-in-a-box” – our at-home version of Canada’s premiere whisky show, boasting an impressive selection of whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, India, USA and Canada. Each 20ml sample features a QR code linked to its respective tasting ‘conversation’, so that the opportunity to taste and learn from whiskymakers is kept intact.

In short, our hope is that these whiskies and tastings mimic a similar vibe to attending Spirit of Toronto in person — put out a cheeseboard with jazz in the background and you might even come close!

The Spirit of Toronto Holiday Edition goes on sale Friday November 24 at 10:00am ET, and will begin shipping across Canada the week of December 11. If you’re subscribed to this list then expect an automatic notification on Friday morning.

And… because we love a Black Friday deal as much as anyone, we’ll be offering shipping at no charge until Sunday November 26 at 11:59pm ET.

In the best of spirits,

Johanna Ngoh
