Set into a beautifully crafted book that documents a part of Ian Hunter’s rich legacy. This fifth and final installment tells the tale of the lasting mark Ian left on Laphroaig’s iconic flavour, Whisky making practices and even on subsequent generations of the distillery team. It also features a 34-year-old nonchill filtered Whisky, double matured in a combination of first fill ex-bourbon American Oak barrels and Pedro Ximénez European Oak Hogheads.

TASTING NOTES:

NOSE
Lightly peaty with iodine and burnt wood notes. Floral green malt, sweet candyfloss and vanilla fudge, nimble fruit accents of blueberry and raspberry.

TASTE
Sweet and spicy, with the characteristic Laphroaig peaty reek and hints of cold barbecue ash kiln wall. Salted caramel and butterscotch, roast chestnuts, a hint of peach, dried flowers and white pepper.

FINISH
Peaty and malty, with praline notes and lingering sweetness.
