After Milestone January, Whiskey Raiders Celebrates Status as America’s Largest Whiskey Website – Whisky Raider News

After Milestone January, Whiskey Raiders Celebrates Status as America’s Largest Whiskey Website

NEW YORK (Feb. 2, 2023) — Whiskey Raiders is proud to announce it had its highest month of traffic ever in January, with more than 1.7 million unique visitors. It is now the leading whiskey website in the U.S.

Helmed by Jay West, often referred to by the moniker “t8ke,” Whiskey Raiders was co-founded By West and Dan Abrams’ Abrams Media after the latter acquired West’s website, t8ke.review.

“It’s incredible to witness just how explosive Whiskey Raiders’ growth has been since our launch,” West said. “In December of 2020, when Whiskey Raiders first went live, I never pictured a reality in which the reviews I penned and the articles our team published would garner millions of page views in such a short time.”

Whiskey Raiders focuses on the intersection of critical whiskey reviews, aggregating the internet’s most trustworthy review scores to present one, comprehensive “Raided Score” for each whiskey. While other review websites simply provide their own reviews, Whiskey Raiders uses its aggregation technique to offer readers a holistic look at critics’ opinions of whiskeys.

Beyond its reviews and aggregation, Whiskey Raiders covers the latest news and happenings in the world of spirits and uses its vast archive of nearly 2,000 whiskey reviews to produce evergreen content to recommend whiskeys to readers based on price, quality and occasion.

Whiskey Raiders published more than 1,200 articles and 200 reviews/aggregated reviews in 2022 and looks forward to continuing its growth in 2023.

In November, Whiskey Raiders launched “The Whiskey Raiders Podcast,” hosted by West and John Henderson of TheBourbonFinder.com.

These new sites are already off to a promising start, garnering almost 500,000 unique visitors collectively in January.

Scotch Whisky Auctions 2023 Customer Update – Auction Whisky News

2023 Customer Update

This year has gotten off to a great start and will only get better as we look forward another year full of fantastic whisky auctions.  Our aim as always is to bring you the highest quality auctions we can, and literally everything we do is geared towards that end.  We hope you are as excited as we are about what the coming year will bring.

Storage

We are constantly evolving here at Scotch Whisky Auctions, and as we move into 2023 we are continuing to improve our storage system as it grows.  We are committed to providing the safest and most secure environment for your bottles, and we are proud of our climate controlled and fully secured storage units which provide a fully insured storage solution for a growing customer base.  The cost to enter bottles into our long term storage facility remains at 3% of the hammer price, however a minimum charge of £5 will apply as of 03/03/2023 which we believe represents great value for continuing peace of mind.  As a reminder this fee covers L&B for 12 months and should you ship cover still applies.

Pay in your own currency

Stay tuned for another update to our payment system which is coming soon.  We are in the process of implementing the ability to pay outstanding invoices in your own currency, which will give our valued international customers more flexibility while potentially reducing the fees paid for currency transfer through financial institutions. As always we are striving to improve, and we believe these changes will result in a net benefit to you, the customer.  All the best this year, and best of luck in the upcoming auctions!

Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt – Aberdeen Whisky Shop News

Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt

All five malts from the region’s three distilleries have been used to produce this genuine Campbeltown blended malt.  It’s an unmistakable Campbeltown whisky: Initial sweet, softer notes of fruit, honey and butterscotch give way to reveal more complexity with traditional maritime and spice notes combined with the subtlest touch of peat smoke. Matured in a combination of Ex-Bourbon and Ex-Sherry Casks. Vatted and bottled at Springbank Distillery, Campbeltown.

£38.50

MacNairs 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 2

MacNairs Cask Strength Batch 2

Taking inspiration from MacNair’s discovery of the delights of a dram beside a smoky peat fireplace, Master Blender Billy Walker has drawn upon his half century’s experience in blending to develop a recipe fit for a traditional Scottish toast to long life: “Lang may yer Lum Reek”

In Batch Two Billy has created a sublime Blended Malt where the smoke of Islay is blended with the finest Speyside and GlenAllachie whiskies. The spirit was then rested in Spanish sherry casks.

Billy’s Tasting Notes:

Nose: Waves of grilled honeycomb, ginger and vanilla with cinnamon, campfire smoke and treacle
Palate: Bursting with dark chocolate, burnt orange peel and honeycomb.
Finish: Smoked spices, butterscotch and roasted coffee beans with ginger.

55.8% ABV
Limited to two bottles per household

Malt Messenger Bulletin – Our 1st Annual Door Crasher Sale Starts Now!

Our First Ever Door Crasher Sale is on now with almost everything in-stock on sale. Formerly our Year End Inventory Sale… the sale happens to coincide with the 1 year anniversary of what we call the “Dogde Ram Incident”… which took place on February 11, 2022. This is as one customer said the other day, the first Ramnaversary!

The truck was actually black, unlike the one in the image created by OpenAI’s DALL-E-2… But despite that and there is an extra “a” in SAALE, that image is still my favourite.

The sale runs Friday, February 10, through midnight Sunday, February 12, in-store and online. But the pricing is live online now!

Almost all in-stock inventory is 5-50%, but only until midnight Sunday!

One last note, given the pending restoration work and renos which will put an even higher premium on space in the shop, we kindly request prompt pickups. If necessary, we may have to temporarily transfer products on hold to the warehouse for storage.

Sincerely,

Andrew Ferguson

Heaven Hill Distillery Announces 2023 Heaven Hill Heritage Collection Release – Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey News

Heaven Hill Distillery Announces 2023 Heaven Hill Heritage Collection Release

This year’s release features 20-year-old Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Heaven Hill Distillery announced today the release of Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 20-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey, the 2023 edition of the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection. Each spring, this annual, highly limited release will feature some of the distillery’s oldest inventory of aging whiskey, continuing the standard of excellence Heaven Hill has practiced since 1935.

Each release in the ultra-premium collection features one of the six traditional American Whiskey mashbills produced by Heaven Hill, the only heritage distillery to produce this range. This edition features Heaven Hill’s Corn Whiskey Mashbill, comprised of 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye, and is bottled at 115 proof. With an age statement of 20 years, this release is made up entirely of 110 barrels produced in October 2002 pulled from the third floor of Rickhouse 1K.

With its distinct nose of toasted corn and oak spices, this edition of the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection is sure to be a unique addition to any whiskey collection. A testament to its age, the initial notes on the palate include aged oak and walnuts followed by a finish of wood spices with hints of corn sweetness.

“The Heaven Hill Heritage Collection reflects the true craftsmanship, patience and consistency which are hallmarks of Heaven Hill’s whiskey making traditions,” says Master Distiller Conor O’ Driscoll.  “The ability to offer consumers an ultra-aged corn whiskey product is a true testament to the forward-thinking innovation the company has practiced for decades and continues to practice to this day.”

Along with its innovation-focused counterpart the Parker’s Heritage Collection, the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection is a testament to Heaven Hill’s patience and ultra-aging techniques. Releases from both collections offer a glimpse into the long-term plan across Heaven Hill’s American Whiskey stock and commitment to quality, craft, and innovation.

As with the inaugural release, the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 750ml bottle will be accompanied by a premium box in signature Heaven Hill blue with the double-H insignia stamped in gold to signify Heaven Hill. A signature of the Collection, specific attributes such as warehouse site location, production date, mashbill percentages, and other designations are noted prominently on the packaging.  Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 20-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey will launch nationally on a limited basis with an SRP of $289.99 and will begin shipping on March 1, 2023.

*UPCOMING RELEASE* Old & Rare American Oak Second-Fill TD0079 – Tasmanian Whisky News

Old & Rare
American Oak Second-Fill

On Monday we release TD0079.

TD0079 was matured in a 300L second-fill American oak cask, notable because we only have a handful of these 300L casks in our bond-store, and they date back to the earliest days of our distillery! Virgin oak when we received them, they have only ever been used to mature Sullivans Cove Whisky.

The result? A look into the undisturbed potential of Sullivans Cove spirit and high quality, old oak, free from the influence of a pre-fill. As the fresh tropical pops of Sullivans Cove spirit morph into one with the sweet, creamy depth of American oak, you realise you have just witnessed a lesson in integration – brought to you by 16 years of gentle maturation in the right oak, guided by the right hands.

American Oak Old & Rare Second-Fill: TD0079

Ripe and syrupy notes of white flowers, pineapple rings and mango pulp develop into sweet coconut and hazelnut cream. The palate brings about more tropical confectionary – yellow rock candy, passionfruit coulis, lemon curd and Starburst lollies. The finish, despite being over 16 years old, holds little to no oak grip! Just the silky texture of Sullivans Cove spirit, wrapped in caramelised white chocolate and lavender.

16 years old, matured in a second-fill American oak barrel, TD0079 yielded just 435 bottles.
