Strathmill 14 Year Old 2006 vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. Fifty-one years ago Apollo 10 pioneered a full dress rehearsal for the first historic moon landing. Lunar module, dubbed “Snoopy” stopped short of landing on the lunar surface. As ‘Snoopy’ docked with command module ‘Charlie Brown’, Pilot Eugene Cernan proclaimed “Man, we is back home. Almost.” To mark this occasion we have bottled a single sherry butt distilled in 2006 bottled October 2020. 685 numbered bottles exclusive to The Whisky Barrel.

A black hole of sweet fruit cake dwarfed by rocket fudge, tobacco and rosewater. Telescopic sherry soaked raisins eclipsed by magnetic spices and a meteoric dry oak finish.

The original Strathmill Distillery was worked by John Keith from 1825 until 1829 but subsequently dismantled and converted into a corn mill. The present business was established in 1891 by re-conversion of the corn mill. a site tucked away between the River Isla and the Great North of Scotland Railway on the edge of the town of Keith. Now equipped with four stills and two traditional pagoda roofs to produce malt whisky primarily for the blending industry and so there have been very few official releases.
